Benjamin Franklin's Accomplishments

“The Speech at the Constitutional Convention” , given by Benjamin Franklin, was a moving point for our freedom. Franklin was a well respected man for doing many things for our country; such as serving as the president of Pennsylvania executive council and many other honorable positions (Franklin, Benjamin). Allowing him to elaborate was a key component of helping define the term American dream. Franklin being well respected and very charismatic allowed him to effectively broadcast why he believed that the constitution should be ratified. The constitution was an important symbol for demonstrating that the colonists were qualified for self rule.

Benjamin Franklin, who was born into a large family in colonial Boston, argues and shows he is a good Colonial and future American by going to London as a delegate to help benefit the colonial states when Parliament put high tax on goods and eventually becomes a founding father to the United States. Ben Franklin played the most important part in the American Revolution, because he helped before American Revolution to get all 13 colonies together, get supplies for America so they can gain there independence back, help get the from the French, and help America to gain there independence back from the British. Before America had to pay taxes for the British to protect them, tell them what to do, and raid their homes. American Revolution was about to start and before it did Ben Franklin was a writer and novelist, so he could publish anything. So Ben thought that if the British takes the 13 colonies out one by one he will make the 13 colonies get to gather and fight together. That’s when he mad “Join or Die” cartoon.

Benjamin franklin was born on January 17, 1706, in Boston, Massachusetts and passed away april 17, 1790. He was one of the major founding fathers of the United States. He was a very smart man. He was a leading author, printer, political theorist, politician, freemason, postmaster, scientist, inventor, humorist, civic activist, statesman, and diplomat. In his early years, Franklin’s father, Josiah, had a set plan for what he was supposed to do with his life, as a minister. Soon into his education, he found an interest in reading and writing, so he began pursuing a career in printing.

Fredrick Douglas and Benjamin Franklin are both one of the most famous successful in American history. They both followed a certain milestone to make them successful. Even though they are considered hard workers, they both have different obstacles and different views in their lifestyle. Fredrick Douglas used to be a slave who was a fugitive and Benjamin Franklin was young white man who had a rough time with his parent because his parents are very abusive to him. By comparing the difference and similarities by these two great people in American history even though they had their rough times, that does not stop them from their success.

As a political leader his character would allow the people to embrace his wisdom, humility, eagerness, and acknowledge him as a founding father of our nation. Each of the characteristics, the scientific mind, the success as a businessman and a respected and beloved political leader were his foundation that would allow the people to build their dreams upon. He would receive honorary degrees in England, Scotland, and America for his work as a scholar and scientist.

Following that, Ben established the Declaration of Independence, which tighten the relationship between the French and the 13 Original Colonies together to make the treaty of Alliance with France. After that, Franklin was a key element to producing the United States Constitution. Finally, Ben proposed a basic version known as the Articles of Confederation today. Benjamin first found his start when he was elected in England to represent the colonists enraged at the fact that they had to pay tax on stuff not in their country. Benjamin won and repealed the bill 275 votes to 161 votes.
