Method:
A positivist research paradigm will be used when conducting this research task as it is designed to gain information in an objective manner through scientific means. Here participants will be identified as fitting into one of two categories (Schrag, 1992). They will either be in the category of participants who have experienced clinically diagnosed depression prior to entering university or participants who have experienced or are experiencing some form of depression while studying at university (Schrag, 1992). A statistical evaluation will be done to determine the severity and likelihood of depression occurring amongst these persons and whether these factors differ amongst the two groups. This objective measurement aims at highlighting the causes for why the depression is occurring, and whether or not the university factors are the primary cause for the onset of depression (Schrag, 1992). Moreover, this methodological approach will help provide reliability and validity for the study. The researcher will use quantitative methods such as questionnaires and surveys in order to follow the objective nature of the positivist research paradigm.

The participants will be equally categorised into either having prior experience of clinical depression before entering the university or currently experiencing depression since being at the university. Here one is trying to determine whether or not the university factors are the primary cause for the onset of depression amongst students. The researcher will conduct the study on the university currently known as Rhodes (UCKAR) Psychology third year
1. Researches excluded students that are diagnose with mental problems because the researches don 't want to make them uncomfortable on what students without mental health problems feel. I also believe that students with mental health problems were excluded because they will not give an accurate answer. 2. I believe that people think about that people with mental health problems are crazy, can 't think right, mean, weird, and dumb.

The stress that college students are placed under can cause depression and other mental health issues, such as anxiety, eating disorders, self harm, and other clinical mental health conditions. The majority of college campuses have counseling centers for students who need them, but they are underused due to social stigmas against seeking help. A PSA consisting of a thirty second video and a poster was created, using the influential psychological principles of social proof, similarity, vividness, high controlling language, and scarcity. In this paper, an experiment was performed to evaluate a small portion of people in each grade level and measure the level of risk they have for becoming depressed. Showing the trends of the amount of depression symptoms shown and the different common answers that were listed when the students took the test. There is a trend between the grades and how many kids are at a higher risk of being depressed. This essay will also show the methods that were used to collect the information and the different tools/ways used to record all the information. There will also be tables and/or graphs used to represent the data that has been collected.
Human development has interesting stages due to the changes in behaviour and growth of the body. Adolescent depression is a serious development issue which faces most households, hence requires proper attention. The occurrence of adolescent depression is most common in the modern society, though the impact of the depression has not been addressed adequately and may be significant. Many behavioural problems, for example, school dropout, drug abuse, unprotected sexual activity, suicide, self- inflicted injuries are the result of depression. Regular depression screening is important in the healthcare setting since it helps the physicians treat depression and employ recovery mechanisms for the patients.
Furthermore, the methodology of this proposed research is unique whence of data collection, data measurement, and the analytical methods designed to handle this novel data. In addition, it will utilize a highly reliable and valid measurement instrument to measure the levels of depression to include all ages. Additionally, this proposed research will give a chance to determine the feasibility of conducting such research amongst young adults. INTRODUCTION This assignment will be discussing Generalised Anxiety Disorder based on Jessica’s case study. This will be done by interpreting and discussing Generalised Anxiety Disorder and Major Depression as umbrella diagnosis to the case study using relevant clinical description. Biological, psychological and social aetiology of Major Depression and Generalised Anxiety disorder as disorders seen in Jessica’s case will be explained. We have identified Jessica’s case as that of Generalised Anxiety Disorder and Major Depressive disorder as she shows symptoms of each of the disorders.
This does not exclude a quantitative approach being associated with a post-positivist approach. In contrast, for a researcher who favors interpretive, knowledge is a matter of interpretation (Schutt, 2009) so that the quest for understanding the complex world of lived experience demands that the researcher interact with the research objects/participants to get the viewpoint. State-Trait Depression Inventory (STDI) was used to measure depression (Spielberger, 2003). A 20-item questionnaire was administered that corresponds to the depression subscale of State-Trait Personality Inventory (STPI). It employed a four-point Likert scale with 1 meaning “almost always” and 4 meaning “almost never”. The Cronbach’s alpha coefficient for the scale in the present study is 0.93.

There are four main perspectives in psychology. These are known as; biological perspective, learning perspective, cognitive perspective, and sociocultural perspective. Each perspective aids in the understanding of human behavior. However, not one perspective can explain all of human behaviors. This is due to each perspective playing different roles in ones behavior.
This literature review will be covering the topic on research paradigms. There are three major paradigms in the research paradigms which are the positivist paradigm research, interpretivist paradigm research and critical paradigm research. Each research paradigm has its own strengths and effectiveness due to their unique features which are specific to their particular approach as well as weaknesses. INTRODUCTION The researchers are subjected to different theories, methods, and belief systems which are already existing to guide the investigation, inquiry or study. The research tradition or research paradigm is the system that a researcher needs to follow based on type of a research. Research Paradigm can be defined as a belief system which guides the researcher on how the study should be investigated and addressed. The focus of following paper will be on differentiating between three types of research traditions which are positivism, interpretivism and critical realism based on their positions on; reason for research, ontology, epistemology, axiology, and methodology.
In quantitative research, variables are identified and defined, and then relevant data is collected from study participants. A strength of this type of research is that the data is in numeric form, making it easier to interpret. It also studies the relationship between independent and dependent variables and can address questions such as does a relationship between variables exist, what is the direction of the relationship, how strong is the relationship between the variables, and what is the nature of the relationship. To be able to discover and answer the cause-and-effect relationship is a strength of quantitative research. Lastly, in quantitative research, the study can either be experimental or nonexperimental, meaning clinical trial or observational study, allowing for different types of research studies to be conducted.
