Abortion 1 Abortion 5 Abortion Jason S. Eadens Benedictine University Abortion Well looking at the PBL for this class I wanted to write something that I was very opinionated about and that have my own morals about. I did not pick the top of the list that I found, but I chose to go with the second one, which is abortion (“11 Most Controversial Issues Dividing the Country,” n.d.). The topic of abortion is very important to me because my ex-wife wanted to have an abortion with my oldest child while we were going through a divorce. Thank God that in the state I lived in that she could not do this without my consent since we were married. I love my son and it would have emotionally killed me if she would have ended his life before he even got a …show more content…
This political issue does not have a right or wrong. For example, yes, it is wrong to kill a living being, but no there are circumstances such as rape that should not be held in the same light of a woman wanting an abortion just because she doesn’t want the child. I’m sorry, but if you willing hop into bed and get pregnant than you should be ready for the possibility of getting pregnant and having a baby. Lastly, I want to state that this should probably not be a political issue, but one for the moral compass of the one that is pregnant and their partner. Partner is used as one that is in a relationship with the woman that is pregnant, not a person that makes her a …show more content…
However, as we have discovered there are a lot of factors to the choice for different reasons of an abortion. We’ve learned that if a woman is a victim she could have to deal with her rapist the rest of her life, and that is not right to torment her like that. Finally, why does politics have to deal with what we do to our body? Politics should be helping us do what is best for us, but not controlling us. The U.S. is a free country, so do not try and control the people of this country. References 11 Most Controversial Issues Dividing the Country. (n.d.). A pressing women’s right issue that has divided the nation for the last 40 years is Abortion. It’s a procedure in which a woman medically terminates her pregnancy, this option to terminate a pregnancy has come under great fire due to moral permissibility and ethical concern. The right to abortion was granted on a constitutional basis under the landmark decision by the supreme court case, “Roe Vs. Wade” but has been attacked and attempted to be dismantled by sweltering opposition by several special-interests groups.
Before Roe v. wade the number of deaths from illegal abortions was around 5000 and in the 50s and 60s the number of illegal abortions ranged from 200,000 to 1.2 million per year. These illegal abortions pose major health risks to the life of the woman including damage to the bladder, intestines as well as rupturing of the uterus. The choice to become a mother must be given to the woman most importantly because it’s her body, her health, and she will be taking on a great responsibility. A woman’s choice to choose abortion should not be restricted by anyone; there are multiple reasons why abortion will be the more sensible decision for the female.
The Fight against Abortion “I noticed that everyone who is for abortion has been born.” The truth revealed in this statement by Ronald Reagan is that not all people who have been given the gift of life want to give it to those who have not yet been born. There have been more than 59 million abortions in the US alone since Roe v. Wade made it legal in 1973 (4). This number is hard to believe. To put it in perspective, this is five times as many deaths as those who were killed in the Holocaust, yet abortion is in some people’s minds perfectly acceptable.
Pro-Choice vs. Pro-Life Abortion. The word alone has the power to make a room go still. The popular debate topic has a reputation of provoking aggression no matter where it is mentioned due to its strong relation to people’s rights and ethics, but does it really need further deliberation? Abortions should be kept legal across the United States for a multitude of reasons: they allow people to stay in school and work, largely lessen likelihood of would-be-parents falling into economic depressions, prevent overload of responsibilities to the unprepared, protect women’s rights to privacy, help reduce the number of parentless children, conserve resources, give options, decrease maternal injuries, lower crime rates, and maintain the amount of federal spending on welfare.

For the last couple of years, americans have been deeply polarized over the issue of abortion. They debate has been cast in terms of “ pro-life” views and “pro-choice” views. The legality of abortion was confirmed in 1973 when the United States Supreme Court struck down a Texas
Abortion is a very sensitive issue. Many people are constantly debating whether or not abortion should be allowed or not. Some people think abortion is very bad and that it should not be allowed at all. They think abortion is like committing murder as it is killing the human fetus. Others feel that the parents should have the right to choose and it is not murder until the baby is born.
If a woman is not financially stable or mentally not ready to have a child, then don’t have that child. I would rather see an unborn baby get neglected than a newborn risk being in an orphanage for years, or if the mother decides to keep the baby, she is not able to feed him or her every day. Especially if a woman is raped, they should not be held responsible for something that was not their choice. A woman should be allowed to get rid of something that could potentially ruin her life. The only thing that makes me lean on the right side is if you are longer than three months pregnant, then I feel that you should not get an abortion.
Everyone has a side to abortion from politics to democrats, people in religions to people with no religions, the people having the baby to someone who never had a baby before; everyone sees a different side to it. My believe on abortion is it should be Illegal because it kills innocent lives. Abortion is killing over thousand of innocent
Abortion Abortion is one of the most talked about issues right now. Everyone seems to have an opinion, a strong one. This is still a debate, even though in 1973, the Supreme Court ruled that the procedure is a fundamental right in the case Roe v. Wade (Abortion ProCon.org, 1). Abortion is the ending of a pregnancy before you have gone full term, which means that the embryo cannot survive on its own.
Abortion is one of the most controversial topics discussed in our world today. Millions of fetuses never got a chance to be born because a mother chose to abort them. Although I do not believe in abortion, I believe a woman should have the right to decide whether to have a baby or not. Our textbook presents views and arguments on the issues. The article from our text on “A Defense of Abortion” written by Judith Jarvis Thomason states the right to have an abortion should be the pregnant woman’s decision.
The girl that is fifteen years old loses her virginity and becomes pregnant because she wasn 't fully aware of the consequences of her actions. The choice of her keeping. Abortion is one the most controversial and debated topics today. There have been many court cases that have decided the legality of abortion. However,it will continue to be a hot topic for ay future debates.
Literature review Abortion is a general term used to define the removal of a foetus from the uterus. According to Guidelines on Termination of Pregnancy in Malaysia (2012), termination of pregnancy refers to therapeutic abortion performed usually to preserve the mother’s life. There is on-going debate over legal, moral, religious and ethical issues of abortion. In resolving such issue, psychologist must be aware of the heavy legal, ethical and religious obligations associated with termination of pregnancy beyond clinical judgement. The best practice in making decisions in this type of issues involves finding a balance between risks and benefits (Guidelines on Termination of Pregnancy, 2012).
We have our own decision to make, and this should not be demanded forcibly by anyone. Abortion is the only key to help victims from raping, and this must be legalised to set them free from a sense of mortification, accusation, and tribulation. The term rape is the crime typically committed by a man, of forcing another person to have sexual intercourse with the offender against their consent. The point
