The main mission of the ERO is to deal with any undocumented immigrants who pose as a danger to the American public. There are three main areas of focus that ERO does, which are all three equally important to them. First, they enforce the America’s immigration laws following every protocol to ensure they are acting in a fair and effective manner (ice.gov). They identify and apprehend any undocumented immigrant that is considered removable and throw them into detention when it is absolutely necessary to do so. Secondly, they have a list of priorities for the apprehension, arrest, and removal of convicted criminals, and those that are considered a danger to the people of the United States.

Also they serve and get involved with the community. N.Y.P.D police officers are held to the highest standard possible, so it is their job to set the example and remain sharp because that is what is expected from them.

The Justice system has shown a pattern of taking the side of law enforcement. As of today, police brutality, specifically excessive force still remains as one of the most serious human rights violations. From the severe beatings, to the unjustified shootings, and inexcusable aggressive rough treatment all contribute to police officer misconduct. Many officers need to be opened minded about the way they address victims, suspects, and criminals. Yes, they have the upper power, but in any situation everyone is a human being and should be treated as such; the majority of this unacceptable behavior goes unnoticed or unreported.

There is clear evidence of social control, and specifically who it targets. Revelation of this evidence could be crucial to this field as the disparities may prompt research into methods by which to reduce this kind of discrimination and targeting in the judicial system. The criminal justice system in the United States requires impartial magistrates to uphold the standards of the constitution and state statutes, and if judges continue to target certain groups for increased punishment, then trust in the system will surely diminish. In addition, discretion clearly influenced sentencing patterns ; therefore, one can logically infer that the criminal justice system is not one large entity, but a confederation of independent institutions that promote their own goals.

Working in the field of law enforcement and being ethically sound is important. It is important within our professional career that we are able to maintain a standard that doesn’t cross any ethical lines. Even in our academic we have to hold ourselves to an ethical standard, because we are trusted to do what is right. If we violate the academic integrity it put a mark on our ability to be trusted. Just as Dr. Steven Davis stated if someone is will to cheap to get ahead how can they be trusted

The intention of my research is to expose the racist tactics in the criminal justice system that have been camouflaged. I am prepared to explain how racism contributes to the vast number of incarcerated African Americans, and other minorities. The criminal justice system has created and perpetuated racial hierarchy in the United States, and has done so throughout history. I propose the question: Are minorities being targeted within the Criminal Justice System? African Americans are criminalized and targeted because of their skin color, and it is not fair.

Peace officers assume a focal part in the law authorization framework. They screen criminal movement, tune in group watches, react to crisis calls, issue tickets, make captures, examine violations and affirm in court as required. It is no secret that the United States inherited much of Great Britain governmental institutions. In the Bible, Jesus says “to whom much is given, much will be required” (Luke 12:48).

These two aforementioned perspectives are a strongly contested issue in our country and probably the entire known civilized world which challenges the fabric of how justice is administered within the criminal justice system. It is probably the number one primary determents of the modern practices of criminal law, police practices, sentencing, and corrections (Schmalleger, 2016). Our country provides each of its citizen’s individual rights which I believe at times conflict with our public order causing problems with crime control today. Many millennial and even the baby boom generation probably view our rights as a necessity without responsibility attached to it, and this has allowed many hindrances along with abuses in the pursuit of justice. For example, I want to use from my experiences as a police officer and detective the problem many I my profession face when it comes to dealing with 4th and 5th Amendment issues concerning criminal cases involving search and seizures and witness testimony.

However, both concepts might play a role in either situation. Some individuals question whether or not “ethics” should play a big part in law enforcement. Ethics should play a part in professional standards of conduct because it sets a standard for how individuals should behave. It is very important for police officers and any other individual in the law enforcement field to properly abide by ethical standards.

A career in policing requires an individual to meet a high standard for character and demonstrated behavior, in order to be developed into an effective officer. Succeeding in a police academy requires the candidate to display and apply integrity, a skill which must be developed before receiving admission. Integrity demonstrated through a police officer’s personal life, provides the foundation for a respected career. When presented with the opportunity to leverage a peace officer’s position for personal profit, an individual who has previously made selfless choices, is more reliable for operating within the law. Integrity as a term has the social implication of following ones beliefs, regardless of the opposition.

When it comes to having and being able to maintain a strong moral code, front line patrol officers are the perfect example of what law enforcement requires. To ensure front line patrol officers maintain a strong moral code, they must be able to keep their integrity on and off duty. Officers should have this characteristic before they are hired and should be open for the police academy to repair and strengthen them. Law enforcement requires not only physical strength within the policing work field but also strength within one’s values and their ethical as well as moral beliefs. ‘’Values is the term given to those ideas, behaviors, and actions that are important to us.
