Abigail sought to get rid of Elizabeth Proctor so she can be with John. All of the girls from the town of Salem went into the woods and were casting spells to try and get the boys from the town to like them. Also Abigail cast a spell to get Elizabeth Proctor away so she could be with John Proctor.

and she had an affair too. Although Abigail is guilty she could not be because she could of told the truth and did not see the witches at all or dance with them, she could of not also had an affair and people could be making stuff up. Many people suppose

Abigail Williams is depicted as a seventeen year old trouble-maker in Arthur Miller’s play The Crucible. She is a manipulative, deceitful, and selfish character in many ways. She explains in the beginning of the play that she watched her own parents be murdered in front of her by Native Americans. She also felt the stinging rejection of a man who did not want her, after she had fallen in love with him. Her painful past experiences have molded her into the hate-filled character she was during the Salem Witch Trials.

William Shenstone, a wise English poet, once said “A liar begins with making falsehood appear like truth, and ends with making truth itself appear like falsehood.” As you read you see that Abigail is just telling lie after lie and the majority believe her. When someone goes against what Abigail is saying and says the actual truth, everyone, of course, thinks of it as a lie. Abigail successfully changes their ways of thinking and manipulates them into trusting her. If Abigail had been taken out of the picture this situation would have been avoided.

Abigail uses her ability to lie to others as leverage to keep herself safe from her wrongdoings. After being accused of witchcraft Abigail uses the fear of the unknown as her way to blame others for what she has done, in doing so Abagail fabricates her reality where she is in the right and those who have been blamed are in the wrong. Through her dramatic performances and “supernatural visions” she successfully convinces the judge and her entitled uncle that she is innocent. Abigail uses the fact that every person shes accused has been a witch to secure her position as a trust worth witness in court. As seen when the suspension is raised to her, Abigail says, “I have been hurt, Mr. Danforth; I see my blood running out! I have been near to murdered every day because I have done my duty pointing out the Devil’s people -- and this is my reward? To be mistrusted, denied, questioned like a --” (113). She uses the fact that there is a perceived danger in callout witches as one can try to kill her because they feel threated or that she 's been hurt by witchcraft when it was just self-inflicted wounds.

but in reality she was caught attempting to cast a spell on Elizabeth. The reason for her trying to cast a spell is because Abigail falls in love with John Proctor but he is married to Elizabeth but that doesn’t bother Abigail.

In a small village called Salem, witchcraft and sorcery exist, however everyone is pointing fingers but not a single soul knows who is actually to blame for this nonsense. During this time period of hysteria, there are multiple scenes that are very questionable due to one person and one person only. Abigail is the one most responsible for the hysteria and witchcraft in Salem. She threatens the group of girls that accompanied her in the woods while they all danced. She has also lied about many things on multiple occasions in which causes an extreme amount of suspicion.

In Arthur Miller’s The Crucible Abigail Williams, a young, headstrong woman , is the main villain of this story. Most people will say Abigail is the victim but the only thing she is a victim of is a broken heart. The reasons of her being the fellon are she started the witch hoax and tried to rid of Goody Proctor. Abigail commenced the whole witch hoax in order to save herself from getting into trouble for ‘dancing’ in the woods.

Miller best depicts the evils in people through the main prosecutor in the the play Abigail Williams. Abigail is undeniably the most destructive and corrupt individual in The Crucible. Through her vengefulness, threatening her peers, carelessness at others’ expense, and complete disregard for human life, she ensues a tumultuous event to Salem. Abigail’s initial accusation against the town beggar was solely to defend herself from punishment for dancing in the woods.

Abigail Williams was the goody two shoes that kept her reputation high, until she turned on many with a single lie. In The Crucible By Arthur Miller, is set in the year of 1692 in Salem, Massachusetts where a witch outbreak has jailed many of the women from a fault of one girl named Abigail. It causes havoc in Salem that will lead to death in the village. Abigail has shown many transformations and showed that she is very dynamic from her emotions, to her actions, and to her experiences throughout the story of The Crucible. Abigail has shown that she has grown mentally and emotionally.
