On the afternoon of August 9, 2014 an African-American male by the name of Michael Brown was fatally shot to death by a Caucasian male police officer named Darren Wilson in Ferguson, MO. An investigation was immediately launched through the collection of evidence from the crime scene, multiple autopsies of Michael Brown’s body, and interviews with witnesses. For several months following the shooting and after the Grand Jury adjourned, there was immense public speculation and scrutiny over whether Officer Wilson justifiably shot in self-defense or in racially motivated cold blooded murder. Prior to the altercation between Wilson and Brown, Michael had robbed a Ferguson market, and had forcefully shoved the clerk making it robbery (robbery is considered theft with the threat of violence or a weapon). Michael had been with his friend Dorian Johnson who knew of the incident. Officer Wilson was driving around the suburbs of St. Louis when he ordered the two men off the street and onto the sidewalk from his car.

Overall, the community of Ferguson, Missouri, has a major problem of police brutality, likely originating from a sense of deep seeded racism within the force as well as the nation’s society. While this may appear to be a straightforward issue, there are many different angles and opinions on the Ferguson debate coming from a wide variety of sources.

On August 9, 2014, Darren Wilson, a white police officer, shot and killed Michael Brown, who was an unarmed African American teenager in Ferguson Missouri. The jury’s verdict towards Officer Wilson was not brutal because he should have gotten life in prison since Michael Brown had his hands up before shots were fired, even though Officer Wilson was attacked it is always the last resort to fire at a human being, and the bias of the jury effected the results of the verdict. At 11:54 a.m., Michael Brown and Dorian Johnson stole a few cigarillos from the Ferguson Market and Liquor store according to a surveillance video. Walking on a street known as West Florissant Avenue and the also Canfield Drive at 12:01 p.m.

It’s a coincidence how it was a white police officer that killed Michael Brown. Why did he feel the need to shoot him? He wasn’t armed so why shoot a young 18-year-old man if he wasn’t armed? Darren Wilson stated that he feared his life, but how are you going to fear your life when your life is nowhere near danger. Michael Brown was unarmed at the time of the incident.

I, myself believe that Wilson 's action were unjustifiable and way worse than just unfair. Regardless of whether or not Michael had stolen something, shooting to kill was unnessecary. It was also unacceptabe and disrespectful for his body to be taken away hours later and in a cop car.

Recently, news articles have been released telling stories of a white police officer who threw a disobedient black girl on the ground. Many are making the argument, that because the police officer is white and the girl is black, he only harmed her because of her color. Others saying that if , instead, she was white, then none of this would have happened. Also, along with this story the argument could be made the same with the Scottsboro case. Maybe if then men and the women would have been the same color, then the case wouldn 't have been such a big

Darren Wilson should have been charged with murder. There was no need of shooting Michael Brown with several bullets. Darren Wilson thought he had done the right thing, but he had no right in shooting an unarmed black male multiple times. The United States Department of Justice states, “even a relatively routine of misconduct by Ferguson police officers can have significant consequences for the people whose right are violated” (Department of Justice, 6). Although Darren Wilson was not indicted, he still went through severe consequences by the Ferguson Police

Michael Brown’s shooting involves a racial tension between blacks and whites since Brown was unarmed and surrendered. In Ferguson, the majority of people are African Americans, and the majority of police officers are white. On the night of the shooting incident, Brown was walking home and confronted by Wilson because Wilson thought Brown was suspicious. There was a struggle between Brown and Wilson. According to Brown’s friend, Wilson started the fight.

Profiling, according to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, is the act or process of extrapolating information about a person based on known traits or tendencies. It is, in other words, a way of gathering information about someone through observations. Just based on this definition alone, you would be easily fooled into thinking that profiling, especially racial profiling, is harmless and simply another topic that is beaten and thrashed by the media. However, a more detailed analysis of police practices tells us another story: profiling is an illegal and immoral practice that threatens to shake the foundations of our ethnically-integrated society.
