Reflection On Being Considered For The National Honor Society

Khadiza Begum Senior Fitzgerald High School As a student, it is a great honor to just be nominated as a candidate for the National Honor Society. It insists that I have been industrious throughout the past three years of high school– which I take great pride in. I have always shown my best even through my struggles.

Being nominated to be a member of the National Honor Society is an honor in itself. I was certainly looking to be a part of this prestigious honor society since the beginning of my high school career here in United States. The organization will give me an opportunity to work with the exemplary students who share and vision the same goal as I do, the betterment of the society. I believe I can contribute my knowledge and attributions towards this society as this organization do many great things. The National Honor Society organization functions as a symbol of excellence and brilliance of Egg Harbor Township High School. As a committed and goal-oriented individual with more energy than a billion watts, I know that being a member of your well-respected organization would allow me the opportunity to help my community, school, character development and scholastic abilities, and most notably, mutually benefit National Honor Society to the best of my ability. After high school, I plan to attain a degree in pre-medicine, as I have always had a rewinding image in my mind of becoming a doctor. I plan on going to medical school to advance in my studies, towards my career.

The National Honors Society is an organization that recognizes those who have shown the potential to adhere to the four pillars of society. The four pillars the National Honors Society sets its merit and foundation would be scholarship, leadership, service, and character. During the time that I have been a part of Nation Ford High School, and even the time preceding my high school years, I feel that I have accurately satisfied the requirements and applications of the four pillars which are noted above. Beginning with the first pillar of scholarship, I have managed to maintain an unweighted GPA of 4.0 with a weighted average of 5.15.   As a junior in high school, I was inducted into the National Honor Society for doing exceptionally well in my academic endeavors and actively participating in volunteer events. My contributions through this organization have made a significant impact on both my personal development and my community’s support services. The numerous volunteer projects in which I have participated have prepared me to continue helping others in the future. Through projects such as building houses from the ground-up with Habitat for Humanity, I have developed teamwork skills, discovered my management potential, and increased my social network, all while working to provide services for less fortunate individuals in my community.   Some

To be in National Junior Honor Society you have to have good character, citizenship,service, and leadership. First, I have good character. I take criticism willingly, and I also welcome recommendations. Second, I demonstrate citizenship well. Civic involvement is very important, and I have high regard to freedom, justice, and respect for the American form of government.

It is an honor to be nominated for the National Honor Society. The fact that I was nominated proves to me that all of my hard work and dedication has not been for nothing. The National Honor Society is known for recognizing students who strive to achieve their best not only in school but in themselves and the community. I believe that I’m one of those students. Based upon my last two year at Matawan Regional I now have a 3.9 GPA and am ranked in the top 20% of my graduating class.

It is a great honor to be nominated as a member of the National Honor Society. There are many reasons why I want to take part in NHS. One reason why I want to be in it is to continue to grow academically with people who have the same goals as me. I want to be encouraged, not discouraged by the people around me. Being considered means I have achieved my goal in demonstrating my determination- in school and outside of school- and my willingness to aid people in my community. Being a part of such a prestigious organization is an enormous responsibility to which I will fully devote my time. This is what the National Honor Society hopes for in a member. I know i’m not perfect and can make mistakes at times, but acknowledging that takes a lot of character. When I first hear about National Honor Society in the beginning of my middle school years I knew that it was something I not only wanted to be a part of but that I was meant to be a part of. Growing up much of my time was spent around adults causing me to mature quickly and realize things others my age did not. I have always been driven and independent and accept noting but the best from myself especially when it comes to academics. I maintained straight A's all throughout my education up until high school. Having a 6.4 GPA freshman year and a 6.1 GPA at the beginning of junior year as well as being number 141 of 713 in my class.

The National Honor Society is built upon four founding principles: Scholarship, Character, Leadership, and Service. I have a high school life filled with dedication to these four principles on the Spiritual standpoint, the Familial level, the Community level and finally at the National level. Moreover, I did begin my dedication to these same four principles even before this starting with the Boy Scouts of America and this commitment will continue along with having a rich future when I reach my fullest potential. I firmly believe that to have academic excellence is giving your best effort to maintain not just having straight As and a high GPA at or close to the edge of attaining a 4.0, but to also have the skills that help you perform your very best in college and beyond.
