This was a quote was said by Alan Canfora who was a survivor. Alan was shot on May 4th, 1970 at the Kent State massacre("The). The Ohio National Guard came to Kent State University because the students there were holding an anti-war rally(PUBLISHED).

When Richard Nixon was president he established good connections with China and the Soviet Union. Nixon hated Communism and he was willing to visit China to restore peace. On February 21, 1972 Nixon went to China to make a long lasting relationship with the

He once said “The Montgomery boycott was a big thing in a whole lot of people’s lives.” And he was right; for if it wasn’t for the Montgomery bus boycott, African Americans wouldn’t be able to enjoy the freedoms they have today. Edgar Daniel Nixon, otherwise known as E.D. Nixon , was born on July 12, 1899 in Lowndes County, Alabama.

Richard Nixon was the 37th U.S President from January 20, 1969 through August 9, 1974 and during his term, President Nixon would become one of the most talked about administration. This was due to the Watergate scandal; this would heavily over shadow his other accomplishments and bring the White House under the microscope. Nixon would tap phones and record conversations of people when he would have meetings. He did end the war in Vietnam and improved our relationships with China and the USSR. One of his objections in the United States was to try and bridge the divide in our cities and try to heal the war weary people of our nation, because of all the disagreements over Vietnam.

First, Richard Nixon did many things to abuse his presidential powers. Outside of the knowledge of Congress, he ordered the American military to invade Cambodia and Laos. He was responsible for multiple bombing raids there which had major repercussions for our armed forces as well as America. Nixon also bugged the oval office to listen to

Nixon impacted the image of the U.S. presidency in many ways. Richard Nixon did accomplish some good while in presidency however he also performed illegal actions. His wrongdoings completely obscured his greatness, and he was remembered as the only President to resign instead of facing impeachment. As Vice President, he would travel wherever he was needed, and he continued this devoted mentality into his presidential terms (Oates, 338). As President Nixon restored a relationship with China and accomplished the first major arms agreement with the Soviet Union.

In general I would say Richard Nixon was a fairly decent president. During a time where there were many protests amongst the American public (especially the youth) against the troops in Vietnam, Nixon was able to pull the troops out of the war. Nixon also reduced the tensions with the Soviet Union, and helped China join the United Nations. He also helped decrease the amount of racial discrimination by segregating schools in the south. It is a shame though, that those achievements of his are not acknowledged because of the Watergate Scandal.

He stayed in his hometown and started to attend Whittier College. His grandfather from his mother’s side of the family helped pay for his education. In 1933 Richard became engaged with Ola Florence Welch, the daughter of the Whittier chief police. They later broke up in 1935. In 1934 when Richard graduated from Whittier High School, Richard received a full scholarship to attend Duke University School of Law.

His presidency was a rocky road where people only remembered the mistakes that he made. Carter had a very traditional childhood, he did some major positive thing while he was president, but he also made some mistakes, and he will always be remembered as a president whose mistakes outweighed his triumphs. James Earl Carter Jr. was born on October 1, 1924 in Plains, Georgia.

Because the Supreme court ruled against the president, Richard Nixon was the first president to ever resign from office. Some say because of this political scandal parts of the government were “cleansed” or improved. Some of Nixon's aides were even sent to federal prison. Congress passed laws for campaign financing, government ethics and freedom of information.

Many people believe that Nixon may not be the best candidate for president. There is a great deal of evidence that supports that fact of Nixon being the best person to run our country, which was given in the prior paragraphs. Mr. Nixon had the right mindset, attitude, and background to become our next president. As you can see Richard Nixon only wants the best for our country. All of his policies are supported by facts and most are not biased.

Richard Nixon was the 37th president of the United States; he resigned as president after his involvement in the Watergate Scandal. People broke into the Watergate building to wiretap phones and steal secret documents. Nixon knew about the break in before hand and tried to cover it up. When people found out about him trying to cover it up, he decided to resign as president. He gave his speech on August 8th 1974 and resigned on the 9th.
