Artifact and Description for S1 edit title Edit
I have attached my “Long-Range Plan” as a demonstration of my ability to exhibit biblical principles. This artifact demonstrates my understanding of exhibiting biblical principles because it includes different learning strategies, assessment techniques, and accommodations that could be used to reach a variety of learners within the individual classroom setting. This particular skills outcome is important in early childhood education because my personal and professional behavior can impact the young students view of education for years to come. By exhibiting biblical principles, I can build positive relationships, show care towards others, and practice equality and fairness in my teaching.

This demonstrates my understanding of effective learning though appropriate instructional strategies because is displays how I implemented a variety of materials and technological resources to support my instructional strategies and reinforce student learning. It also conveys my ability to assess student’s through both formal (activity sheet) and informal (thumbs up) assessment techniques. These techniques help me evaluate the student’s strengths/weaknesses and the effectiveness of my instructional strategies. This particular skill outcome is important to early childhood education because implementing instructional strategies that reach the diversity of our students is going to promote overall student success. We, as early childhood educators, have to use a variety of strategies to discover more about the student’s developmental process and adjust our instruction in a way that will promote students to become self-directed
For this outcome I chose the CE 240 Unit 6 assigment. With this artifact a demonstrate my knowledge of appropriate observational and assessment techniques and planning for children and their families. I chose this artifact because it shows how I will prepare and plan for children with a specific disability. In this assignment I demonstrate my ability to arrange the learning environment to encourage children with specific needs to reach their learning goals. Observation is one of the most vital skill for early childhood educator.
Educators must create an environment that promotes spiritual growth, fosters a love for God, and develops a biblical worldview. This can be achieved through the integration of biblical principles into the curriculum, teaching students how to apply these principles to their lives, and encouraging them to pursue a personal relationship with God. Moreover, it is essential to cultivate a culture of evangelism and discipleship. Educators must provide students with the tools and resources they need to share their faith with others and to disciple others in the faith.
Unselds’ School Classroom Observation Report Background of the Unselds’ School The Unselds’ School is a private school, located in Baltimore, Maryland. The school teaches less than one hundred students from the ages of nine months to teenagers in the eighth grade with a faculty of fourteen. The goal of the school is to provide their students with the necessary skills needed to be accepted and potentially awarded scholarships to high schools that are beneficial in furthering the child’s education, as the public high school of the county has a graduation acceptance rate of forty-eight percent. The Unselds’ School has a thematic teaching approach, which means that the curriculum implemented is based around key subjects and concepts.
Explain how different types of interventions can promote positive outcomes for children and young people where development is not following the expected pattern. As mentioned in task 7 there are different factors which contribute towards child’s development not follow expected pattern. Early identification of the problem put one in advantageous position to get early solution. Early intervention for children is made up of therapies and services.
Throughout my time at Suffolk Community College, I have done a lot of observations and many hours of student teaching between the ages 4-7 years old. So, walking into an infant classroom for an observation was a first-time thing for me. The infant room was full of a lot of wooden furniture (example: cabinets, changing table, cribs, shelves etc.) and the walls are painted an eggshell white. The instant I walked into the entrance of the room near the door, right hand side there was a kitchen, with a sink, baby formula, utensils, baby bottles and sippy cups.
Many supportive strategies are out there for teachers to learn and use in the instruction of
I believe that all children are individuals, unique in their abilities, from a wide diversity of backgrounds and cultures, and they also have the right to be treated with dignity and respect. Educators are observers and designers who have to observe children’s abilities, interests and learning styles for designing a curriculum that fulfill everyone’s needs. Observers also play an important role on noticing individual differences and offering help to children who have lower ability to improve
The teachers need to understand the instructional designs and how to apply these. In executing this effectively the learning process should expose the utilization of theoretical frameworks, student centered learning, collaboration, culturally fit (diversity), awareness of different learning styles and reflective practices (Tuitt, 2003, p.251- 253). With this we can be sure that every child can learn every child must learn with inclusive pedagogy through accessibility of
From all the diverse backgrounds, learning styles and needs in the program, there were many obstacles that I had to overcome to create a lesson that would
The Creative Curriculum classroom is designed in interest areas that promotor development across the physical, cognitive, and affective domains through assessments. “Assessment in the Creative Curriculum is conceived as an ongoing process of documenting observations and progress available in a fully integrated online platform” (Jaruszewicz, 2013, sec. 2.3). Being that there are 10 areas generally available in the preschool setting that promotes development, it allows children to have freedom to move between areas throughout the day. Social and emotional development plays a big part in school success and is supported as they play and interact with other children and adults (Jaruszewicz, 2013, sec. 1.3). Each of the interest areas will be clearly defined, has the necessary materials displayed, and because the room is so spacious as the teacher I will able to view the different areas simultaneously.
Reflective Journal Leadership, Professional Knowledge and Ethical Practice What is one prevalent issue in early childhood education today? Explain both sides of the debate regarding this time. When I begin teaching at Head Start 18 years ago I only needed a high school diploma.
Thematic Introduction This week’s theme is “My Role is About Their Future.” I believe that this theme is important for EC-6th grade teachers to understand because this theme encompasses what it means to be a teacher. To me, teaching is all about helping the doctors, lawyers, teachers, therapists, etcetera of the future. This theme also means that teachers need to focus on teaching the “whole child” and not just a part of a child. It means that teachers must teach their students content knowledge as well as morals.
Some components of teacher efficacy include: developing an organized classroom environment that is supportive of positive and meaningful learning, positive beliefs and development of instructional activities in different domains of learning, engaging the involvement of parents and sourcing resources needed for learning tasks, and redirecting negative influences that may affect the flow of the academic accomplishments of students (Marat, 2007, para. 3). A strategy that can be utilized by administrators in assisting teachers in developing a high degree of teacher efficacy involves providing information on the relevance of learning in students lives. This strategy of providing information on the relevance of learning in the lives of students would be undergirded by a series of workshops that would expose teachers to components of quality and effective learning, the nature of the pubescent child, the role of culture in the process of assimilation and equilibration and how learning can be developed and supported by positive self-beliefs among students with low-self image. Workshops would be conducted for three hours per week and would involve a reflective component where teachers selected for this
During lesson planning for various subjects, I need to consider the extent to which self-determination is practiced. The skills that could develop his self-determination can include choice-making and decision-making skills, self-management and self-regulation skills. Next is to determine the opportunities that I can present to Alvin for him to learn the skills, and finally, establish a specific subject in the school’s curriculum in which I might be able to address these skills (Cabeza et. al, 2013). With regards to choice-making skills, for example, I foresee that Alvin
While my visit at SBUSD-Rex’s Academy I observed many different areas. I began with observing the setting of the classroom and noticed that the set up was well placed and adaptable for children at that age. I than began observing the children and their interaction with one another as well as the teacher and assistant’s interaction with them. I realized that each child had different needs that needed to be met and some children were ahead of others throughout the day. The strength in this classroom were that the children were all learning how to get along with one another and getting to spend time with other children that have different diversity’s and backgrounds.
