Even when the subject of the book dies himself, the author only states, “Dali died on January 23, 1989” (Weyers 91). By stating that Gala, the wife of Dali, and Dali himself “died” rather than ‘passed’ or ‘moved on to the next life,’ the author shows a refusal to romanticize morbid subjects, even death.

Frida Kahlo was born in Mexico City, Mexico on July 6 in 1907. She is a Mexican self-portrait artist, meaning, that she painted portraits of herself. Frida is considered one of Mexico’s best artist. Her painting experience began after a tragic bus accident in which she suffered from harsh injuries. While recovering from the accident Frida started and finished her first self-portrait painting a year later, then gave it as a gift to her former partner Alejandro Gómez Arias.

In the museum of Salvador Dali over at St. Petersburg, Florida, there were several artworks that caught my attention because Dali’s artwork is genuine in many ways. Although I was impressed by all the artworks, there was a particular one that interested me completely. The artwork is the painting titled “Old age, Adolescence, Infancy (The Three Ages)”. This is a 1940, oil on canvas painting with dimensions 19 5/8 in x 25 5/8 in. The subject matter in this work is the three phases of life.

Pablo Picasso, known as one of the most prodigious artists of all time was born on October 25th, 1881 in Malaga, Spain, son of Don José Ruiz Blasco and Doña Maria Picasso y Lopez. Interested more towards the vivid world of art rather than schoolwork, he exhibited an extraordinary talent of drawing at a very young age. Hence Picasso’s father who was a painter and an art teacher by profession introduced him to the different techniques and mediums. In 1895, Picasso moved to Barcelona in order to attend the Llotja School of Fine Arts.

I know that The Art Institute is a well-known and well-respected school with great teachers who can help me improve and expand my knowledge on photography. I know some fields of art are really hard to get into after college, so I really want a good education so that I will eventually be able to establish a great career after college, which I feel this school will be able to provide to me. I'm still learning about photography and I hope to increase my artistic skills and I think that attending this school will be great for me to do so. Salvadore Dali was a very famous Spanish surrealist and artist during the 12th century and was one of the most recognized artist in the world. Salvadore Dali was also a successful artist in fashion, printmaking, sculpture, advertising, writing a film making. He was well known for his unique personality and his great artworks. Salvadore Dali had started doing art at a very young age. He then went to study at the academy of Madrid where he studied fine arts.

He is different from another artist because he is mental disease. He had many art works, I choose 3 work that I like to present. The first named The Starry night. He draw moon in the sky and landscape, he use oil color for painting and paint the sky like spiral ,he draw something like linear for the landscape. Salvador Dali did not just paint though. Salvador Dali also liked to make and design objects that do not seem like they would go together, but still have some kind of meaning to them. Dali also made short films that would bring his paintings to life. But I am here to talk about The Burning Giraffe by Salvador Dali, not give a biography on him.

Francisco Goya – Tres de Mayo Francisco Jose de Goya was born on March 30, 1746. He was born in a small town called Fuendetodos that is located in Aragon, Spain. His family later moved to Saragossa, Spain and by the age of 14, he became a student to Jose Luzan, who was a local painter. He found inspiration in the arts of many famous artists and copied their style for many years.

During his child hood his father showed him many graphic photos of sexual diseases which became an obsession and a large inspiration for his arts. In 1916 he was enrolled in a drawing school where he improved his skills. Also in 1916 he made a trip with a local artist’s family the artists name is Ramon Pichiot, which he frequently did. This trip was a large step in Salvador Dali painting career he was inspired by all of the modern art that he saw in Paris.

Young Dalí was absolutely devastated by the loss of his mother. His father married his deceased wife’s sister, and his son didn’t like that, though he respected his aunt. But Dalí pressed on, becoming the father of Surrealism. Salvador Dalí was influenced by several different art styles.
