The reason someone might consider Macbeth a serial killer is because a common characteristic of a serial killer is to want to be in control of or have power over others. This characteristic is portrayed when he says “O, yet I do repent me of my fury, that I did kill them” (2, 4,100-101). The text illustrates that Macbeth is trying to hide the fact that he killed the guards, in order to hide the truth of him killing King Duncan from the other citizens and court members of Scotland. There are many instances in the tragedy that portray Macbeth’s changing character into a merciless, serial killer. For instance, in the tragedy, Macbeth says, “Seize upon Fife, give to th’ edge o’ the’ sword His wife, his babes, and all unfortunate souls (4, 1,151-152). This quote from the text proves that Macbeth has no mercy on Macduff’s family because he decides to kill Macduff’s family, even though Macduff’s family didn’t do anything wrong. This act of Macbeth shows that the intensity of Macbeth’s guilt has been elevated, ever since Macbeth’s murder of King Duncan, because of Macbeth’s conscious efforts to keep everything he did under his
He states, “The castle of Macduff I will surprise Seize upon Fife; give to the edge o' the sword His wife, his babes, and all unfortunate souls” (4.1.150-152). At this point Macbeth is out of control and is killing anybody he suspects, showing that he is clearly paranoid and delusional. Once Macduff finds out his family is killed he decides to finally kill
His deep and dark urges are merely waiting for an excuse to be let loose. Once the seeds of murder have been planted in his mind, Macbeth is unable to withstand the dark impulses others have stirred up within him. Blaming others for the murders Macbeth commits himself or orders himself is counter-intuitive. The hand that wields the sword bears the
Because of his dangerous mentality, he became reckless, paranoid, and boastfully insane. Macbeth soon began to not trust anyone This is especially illustrated in Act 3, Scene 3, where the murderers were waiting to kill Banquo and Fleance. In the scene Macbeth had a third murderer join the two that he had already hired. As one of the original murderers stated, “He needs not our mistrust; since he delivers our offices, and what we have to do.” (3.3.3) Macbeth's disposition led to the defeat of himself and losing his place in the throne.
Macbeth feels regret and guilt after murdering King Duncan. He is beginning to understand the consequences of his actions and the disruption of the natural order that he has caused. Macbeth’s guilt shows that he still has some understanding of the natural order, but his ambition and desire for power are clouding his judgment. “I am in blood / Stepp’d in so far, that, should I wade no more, / Returning were as tedious as go o’er” (3.4.136-138).
William Shakespeare’s Macbeth was first performed for King James I of England and VI of Scotland in 1606. James was descended from Banquo’s line, and through which he had become king. Shakespeare told the story of Macbeth with minor alterations to the historical tale; one such change was he portrayed Banquo as innocent and uninvolved in King Duncan’s murder. This left the blame entirely on Macbeth.
William Shakespeare wrote Macbeth. It is considered one of its most powerful and darkest tragedies; the play dramatizes the psychological and political corrosive effects produced when evil is chosen as a way to satisfy the ambition for power. Macbeth tells a story of crime and punishment mixed with witchcraft. Covered in the deceitful prophecies of the Weird Sisters, Macbeth decides to assassinate his king and take the crown. Aware of the horror to which he surrenders, he forges his terrible destiny and believing himself invincible and eternal.
Macbeth on the other hand, is being cold hearted because he murdered Macduff’s family for revenge. Euphemism is the literary device being used here because I figured that this action was really harsh. In Act IV Scene iii, Macduff convinces Malcom to raise the army against Macbeth because he is a terrible king. While they are talking, Ross, Macduff’s cousin, enters. He says, “Your castle is surprised, your wife and babes
After killing Duncan, Macbeth’s mental state changes completely. The difference between the moment before the murder and the moment after is that Macbeth’s lack of determination. He feels personally responsible for the murder and wishes it never happened. Thus, he is afraid to look at the dead body and face what he has done (2.2.54-56). His regret of the murder shows the transformation of Macbeth’s attitude: he lets his remorse overpower him to the point of madness.
The play Macbeth, by William Shakespeare, is seen as one of Shakespeare 's greatest tragedies. It deals with a man named Macbeth, who is introduced as a brave, strong war hero. In act four of Shakespeare's "Macbeth" Macbeth murders most of a noble man's family out of impulse and paranoia. He suspected said nobleman of plotting against him, and much like the murder of his friend Banquo, he killed him before he got the chance. But this murder is not like the ones before it, this one is much more sinister. The man Macbeth suspected, Maduff, was suspect because he refused to show up to any events that Macbeth attended, and when Macbeth went to ask the witches they warned him Macduff was to be cautioned. This time Macbeth decides right away that Macduff must go.
With every death, Macbeth has become more and more ruthless, he hasn’t even let it set in that he just ordered the murder of another of his friends. After this, Macbeth goes to see the witches demanding information, where he decides to murder Macduff until learning that he has fled to England. The second apparition tells Macbeth that no one borne of a woman can harm him, and Macbeths courage is spiked again, before he decides to murder Macduff's entire family. This is where Macbeth is officially at his worst, killing Macduff's entire family just because he
Macbeth” is a tragedy written by Shakespeare. The story is played somewhere between 1600 and was performed for King James 1.It is a tragedy about a man’s fall. It could be suggested that macbeth is responsible for the death of king Duncan. According to my point of view, Macbeth didn’t killed Duncan , banquo and macduff 's family because he wanted to be evil because he met the witches .He did everything because of ambition, jealousy , lust for power and because he was power hungry from the beginning.

The famous play is written by Shakespeare, an author from Stratford-upon-Avon who did not start writing until he was 28. In “Macbeth” there is a sad person, a sadder person and the saddest person.
