By dropping the atomic bomb it ended the war and saved Americans lives. In document J the estimated total casualty of Japanese people was estimated to be 199,000 people that is to the estimated 1 million American casualties if we kept fighting until the Japanese surrendered. Also, in document I it says “His (Truman’s) advisors had warned him to expect massive casualties if the United States invaded Japan.” Truman didn’t do it out of revenge he did it out of protection for American lives. In document A it says “It was their (committee of top men) recommendation that the bomb be used against the enemy as soon as it could be done.”

World War II was the bloodiest war in world history that led to reorientation of both economic and social axiomatic patterns such as new conserving methods and contributing to the war effort. The violence between the United States and Japan, beginning with the bombing of Pearl Harbor, led to hundreds of thousands of casualties for both countries. To ensure a rapid victory for the United States, atomic bombs were dropped at Hiroshima and Nagasaki. These nuclear bombs were authorized, to be used at Hiroshima and Nagasaki, by President Harry Truman. After Japan attacked Pearl Harbor in the Hawaiian Islands, President Truman dropped two atomic bombs on the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan. Since then, there has been arguments whether the bombs should have been dropped or not. President Truman’s choice to drop the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki was really the only option he had back then. Today, the bombs that President Truman dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki is thought as a horrible event, but Truman dropped the bombs to save American and Japanese lives, and in the end, shortened the war. Before President Truman decidecd to drop the two atomic bombs, the war with the Japanese had no end insight.

These bombs have only been tested before and never used in a real war situation until the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. “Little boy” was dropped on August 6, 1945 on Hiroshima by the B-29 Superfortress named Enola Gay(John Hersey). “Fat man” was dropped three days after “Little boy” on Nagasaki by another B-29 Superfortress named Bockscar(John Hersey). The United States reasons for dropping the atomic bombs are because they wanted to limit American casualties from future battles, they wanted to establish dominance over the war before Russia could, and they wanted to use the first atomic bomb in a real war situation(Jennifer Rosenburg). They wanted to drop the bomb as fast as they could while still planning it out well.

Who has the right to decide who lives and who dies? It has always been a moral debate for centuries. In order to save oneself is it worth the lives of others? Is it better to be a martyr or a murderer. For every soldier saved from the atomic bombs in Japan, how many civilians were lost?

JFK once said, " Mankind must put an end to war or war will put an end to mankind." In 1939 Albert Einstein had written the US president of the potential to build a nuclear weapon. The US entrance into the war on December 7th of 1941 led to the president creating the Manhattan Project in 1942 where the atomic bomb was developed. On August 6th of 1945 US president Truman ordered the bombing of Hiroshima using the atomic bomb, 3 days later he ordered a second bomb to be dropped in Nagasaki. The US was justified in using the atomic bomb to end WWII because, America's technology was their greatest achievement, during the time of war death is inevitable, and Japan ignored all warnings given by America.

The ability to destroy a massive amount of the population so effortlessly has created a world-wide issue that continues to this day. Tension runs rampant in international relations, many times due to the power behind atomic bombs and the advancements thereafter. There has been controversy over whether or not U.S. President Truman made the right decision by using the atomic bomb on Japan.

Soon the U.S was attacked by Japan. The President then decided to drop the atomic bomb to end this war and quickly. The use of the atomic bomb on Japan was justified because it ended the war, was a better alternative than the others given, and helped save lives. First, it was not necessary to drop the bomb to win the war militarily or to get the Japanese to surrender.

Where Japan didn 't get a warning about the bomb, they weren 't prepared and neither were the other countries so there was a better chance of nothing happening in return and nothing did. Hiroshima and Nagasaki were chosen, not the entire country. Hiroshima and Nagasaki were hit on target pretty well. Not all the Japanese were a target as well, just the military. Yeah this was bad, but it could 've turned out worse if we didn 't do it.

Justification for the United States Dropping the Atomic Bomb On August 6, 1945, The US bomber the “Enola Gay” dropped the atomic warhead that would spark controversy for years to come. The warhead that was dropped, “Little Boy” was the first time that there has been the destruction of a large city like Hiroshima within a matter of seconds. Shortly after, Major General Charles Sweeney, decided to drop another bomb of which the Japanese city of Nagasaki would be destroyed.

President Harry Truman gave an executive order in 1945 to drop to atomic bombs in popular downtown cities in Japan. With the guidance of many scientists and political leaders President Truman made the extremely tough decision to drop the bombs. After listening to arguments from both sides President Truman came to the conclusion that dropping bombs would be the best thing to do for this war. It would also show that the United States had an extreme military power. Many American politicians were for the idea of dropping the bomb, because they believed that it was the only way to end the war and get Japan to surrender.

Before the nuclear bomb Hiroshima was a beautiful little city in Japan where people went to visit, shop, and live.
