Mary Surratt was an innocent woman who was accused of helping John Wilkes Booth with the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln. She got hanged for it, but the person who actually did do something to help John Wilkes, Dr Mudd, didn’t get hanged, he got life in prison.

Title Mary Surratt should have been executed. Mary Surratt was guilty because there is evidence of her supplying the criminals and having a very suspicious behavior. Mary Surratt's behavior was very weird and suspicious. Mary Surratt was not shocked at the news of Abraham's murder but when the officials visited her a second time her response was dramatically different and appeared shocked at the news. She pretended to not have heard the news which is lying and if she was innocent why would she need to lie to cops.

Lewis Powell and George Herold, both apart of Booths Gang were on there way to try and assassinate secretary of state William Henry Seward. Harold waited outside with the horses for the escape and Powell went inside to attempt assassination. He got very close to killing Seward, he stabbed him and cut him all over. Back in the 1800’s there were 2 people who had a lot in common and they were also different in many ways. Their names were Harriet Tubman and Abraham Lincoln. Both Lincoln and Tubman are similar in many ways. They were both depressed at times, told yarns (or funny stories), and they both had nicknames. They were also hated by certain people at one time of their life, they also lead special events, the pair were stressed at times.

In the book Chasing Lincoln's Killer, all of these conspirators were all hung for their part in the conspiracy, but did they all deserve it?; George Atzerodt may have been the exception. Out of the people listed above George Atzerodt may not have deserved the punishment he received. Atzerodt was definitely involved with many of Booth’s plans involving harm to the president.

People’s choices decide if history will view them as a martyr or a murder. Both Caesar and Abraham Lincoln are considered martyrs by history. As Lincoln had just won the Civil War and Caesar had just defeated Pompey, they were well liked at the time. But almost immediately after these events Brutus and J.W Booth subsequently killed them due to their belief that they were doing what was right for the nation and because they felt pressure from their past, therefore while some differences between Brutus and Booth are evident, the similarities are prominent.
