The manner in which they show their love is widely accepted amongst many peoples. In the novel--The Great Gatsby, the protagonist, Jay Gatsby, shows his affection for Daisy Buchanan through his riches--he purchases the expensive, luxurious mansion located transversely from her humble abode to ensure his closeness to her; in doing so, he manages to lure her from her husband, reminding her of the history they had shared together previously, “Can’t repeat the past? [...] Why of course you can! ”

As the characters in the book are introduced, we are also introduced to their idols which are shown by the character’s actions. One example is Jay Gatsby, the protagonist of the book. Jay Gatsby is portrayed as a rich millionaire who lives in the West Egg of New York, just right across the one of the idols he worships. That idol is Daisy.

After many years she realizes that marriage didn’t work out either, after Jodies dies she meets a man called TeaCake who she falls for and runs away with.

From each, there were characters that ruminate over their ambitions, like Gatsby and Jody. Each one of them though also had somebody they were affecting such as, Daisy and Janie. In The Great Gatsby, the narrator, Nick, told us about Gatsby’s life through his eyes. Their Eyes were Watching God also had many ambitions intertwined within.

Jay Gatsby was obsessed with Tom’s wife Daisy. Before Jay went to war and Tom met Daisy Jay and Daisy dated and intended on getting married. Sadly Jay was out of the country longer than expected and Daisy met and married Tom Buchanan. If Tom loses all of his money he will be nothing. Tom may have gone to a good college but he has no workplace experience and his polo career isn't going to be going anywhere due to his body size and his skill.

Throughout the years, many books have alluded to The Bible. F. Scott Fitzgerald makes many comparisons to The Bible in his book, The Great Gatsby. While not everything in The Great Gatsby alludes to The Bible, there are many instances where the reader can make inferences. The audience makes viable connections between Jay Gatsby in The Great Gatsby and Jesus Christ in The Bible through their sacrificial love and betrayal. Growing up, Jay Gatsby sacrifices a lot for his immutable love for Daisy.

In the novel “The Great Gatsby” by F. Scott Fitzgerald, what Jay Gatsby feels for Daisy Buchanan is obsession. Gatsby revolves and rearranges his entire life in order to gain her affections. Gatsby’s obsession with Daisy resulted in him buying a mansion across the lake from her, throwing huge parties, and spending years of his life trying to become rich. Gatsby bought mansion intentionally across the lake from Daisy just to be closer to her.

The character of Jay Gatsby was a wealthy business man, who the author developed as arrogant and tasteless. Gatsby 's love interest, Daisy Buchanan, was a subdued socialite who was married to the dim witted Tom Buchanan. She is the perfect example of how women of her level of society were supposed to act in her day. The circumstances surrounding Gatsby and Daisy 's relationship kept them eternally apart.
