Slavery is traced back to 1792 B.C.E and was a common practice that is used in ways to benefit the owner so he could get more work done throughout their daily life but even when the beginning of civilization ended, people still used slaves, as they were easily forced to meet the demands of the people. Therefore, slavery during civilization times had limits which changed drastically once the era of exploration and discovery came due to economic and cultural expansion that caused their relationship, extent, and nature to have a an entirely different meaning. At the beginning civilization, slavery became present, and there was a relationship to be made between the slaves and owners. The author of document 2 states that the master must not threaten the slaves, who should obey and fear them, as they have the same Master up in heaven. Later, this relationship policy would change as owners were allowed to have any amount of slaves that they could pay for and do anything to as long as it pleased them as stated by the author of document 8 who wrote this in the 14th century. Document 7 proves how a whole city is based on the need of slavery, as the author talks about how proud everyone is for their amount of slaves and their comfortable life which revolves around trade. Document 8 shows how a well household is hard to manage unless you have at least one slave to help you out which indicates how much people needed slaves to work for them. As exploration became common as time passed, towns became more reliant on slaves to stay efficient, wealthy, and so that the gap between the rich and poor is there.
