This year’s StayClassy fundraising initiative was record-setting. The State Fundraising initiative was able to raise $111,211 surpassing its goal and breaking records. This was primarily due to matching grants and strong dedication from JSA student leaders. It was a grassroots effort with many individual contributions under $50. Next year, I hope to further improve the State Fundraising initiative on StayClassy and set new records. Like previous years, I will work with JSA alumni, corporations, and foundations to secure matching grants. The matching grants are a good way to spark donations. On top of that, I wish to have a competition between states to see who can raise the most money before Fall State. The winning state will receive a special prize such as an extra $500 into their state’s StayClassy account. …show more content…
This will spark competition between states and further increase fundraising efforts. Moreover, I want to have a competition to see which individual can raise the most money on StayClassy before Fall State. The winner of this competition would receive a free trip to a JSA overnight convention or a gift card. The funds for this would either come from a corporate sponsor or fundraising efforts. Through this competition, I know that we can get more individuals to participate in fundraising. Often times fundraising starts out strong in the fall, but then declines in the spring. To prevent this, I hope to revitalize fundraising in the spring by having incentives for donating. For example, if you raise $50, you can receive a hand written letter from your state’s Governor. These incentives will spark fundraising in the spring. Through new fundraising efforts, I know that we can surpass previous fundraising records and have the most successful year
Cosaundra and Robyn suggested to make each and every participant responsible for preselling a minimum of ten $20 vouchers. To guarantee 100% participation, we will incentivize with a $50 MacArthur Mall Gift Card to the member with the highest amount of vouchers $old. James Brumsey, Jr. has already agreed to sponsor a Krispy Kreme Doughnut Fundraiser. Cosaundra also wanted the young ladies to tap into their areas of expertise for other creative fundraising ideas/opportunities. The anniversary souvenir will be a commemorative purple ink pen with butterfly logo and R-E-A-D encrusted in white along with Brenda Johnson's chocolate butterflies. Another community connection will be with the Union Mission, feeding the homeless
In 1980, less than $1 million was raised in the workplace on the solicitation outside of the United Way auspices. (Oster35-36) But by 1990, they were close to $10 million and rapidly growing. (Oster36) In many parts of the country, the combined Health Appeal-did a fundraising for the master of the disease research that has launched a major challenge to the United Way.
“Anything you can put in your pantry,” Charland said cheerfully when I asked what type of donations BABH was looking for. Besides donating food, students can get involved with the many events lined up for this fall season. October 3 begins the Big Kick Off Event at the Ferg from 11-3 (Division of Student Affairs Beat Auburn Beat Hunger). Students are encouraged to come out and learn more about the organization. Free snacks and beverages will be provided.
All proceeds went to the Southern Nevada Burn Foundation to help families in need. The competition was a partner workout

In sunny California there is a town called Yutter. The dearth of water has caused the soil to be very dry and infertile and so the farmers cannot grow crops, impacting the economy in Yutter, changing it for the worst. The town of Yutter has a deal with the farmers and the water supply company for the town so that they can have more water than other citizens per square acre of land, in order to keep the new seeds alive before they shrivel up and the plants die. Paul Jump, Yutter’s main farmer, much to his chagrin, asked the mayor at the town meeting for water, saying “I can grow food for my pigs with the money I made off of my crops if I have two thousand more gallons a week!” The mayor ignores his request and the audience of the meeting starts to become obstreperous as they walk up to Paul Jump with screams of invective.
I’ve always appreciated the excellent education my parents have provided me and want to help children in the third world receive basic education and experience the joy of learning. When I learned that Kiva Microfunds aims to alleviate poverty for the long run, I decided to participate and invest through Kiva. Over a period of five months, I lead a group called Global Engagement and conducted research, wrote a story about a girl traveling the world, designed and illustrated the book, and placed an online order to turn our idea into reality. We hosted fundraisers and sold our books to visitors, faculty, parents, and students. At the end of last year, we raised over $200, and I’m proud to say that we were able to help educate four children in
It would enjoy me to be President of National Honor Society and to represent our Society and school throughout the community. I have known many of you throughout my high school years and have discussed projects that can make our school a more enjoyable and friendly place for students. I want to lead our group of 52 upperlevel students through group projects in our area such as Season of Hope for Families. I have been doing research and prepairing how we could go about fundraising and helping out or community. In this fundraiser, we could help by aquiring Board games and Arts and Craft Kits.
Not only do these clubs recognize academic excellence, they also provide many opportunities for community service. Blood drives, food drives and Operation Christmas Child are only a few of the projects that we participate in throughout the year. I am
I hope that I can use my positions in other clubs as well as MUN to push Mr. Millatzo into bringing back the clubs' fair, and maybe try and secure funding for the club from Dr. Perrotta to defer costs of some of the trips or for other projects. I also hope to do the trip to the UN Manhattan HQ, so some of the newer members might get to experience that. Along with those, I think some new ideas could be brought to the club, such as the possibility of rotating chairs so more people could participate if they want, more historical but also relevant and realistic style simulations similar to what they had in Boston, and maybe try and get a guest speaker related to the UN or international relations. Lastly, I want to increase the visibility of the club, as the clubs fair is not always the most accessible or memorable to most freshman, so I would implement paper advertising, and ideally try and organize a sort of Model UN day where we could try and incorporate more students and let more of Prep really see what MUN is

When I was a resident for FSSP, my RA put on a program called the 7th Annual Polar Dip. Because of this, one of the things I was most excited about to be an RA for FSSP was to put on the 9th Annual San Nicolas Polar Dip! San Nicolas residents and I marched to Campus Point at 9pm at night, where we then preceded to charge into the ocean together. They then splashed each other with water guns and bounced a bunch of beach balls in the cold water. The event ended with everyone gathering together in the water and chanting an improvised OLÉ cheer with a finishing “U-C-S-B”.
Spokes of Hope to Bring Education to Life With a $1 Million Grant Spokes of Hope Worldwide, a nonprofit organization that provides bicycles to students who lack access to transportation, will be receiving a $1 million grant from the World PhilanSupport to use for the next 2 years because of its efforts in supporting and increasing access to a better education around the world (CfA, 2015, p. 1). The grant’s purpose is to award charitable organizations that are making an invaluable impact in improving people’s
Planning Guide for Successful School Fundraisers Acting as chairperson for an upcoming school fundraising plan is difficult but doable. With organization and planning, fundraisers can be successful and fun too. Candy bars and car washes are like yesterday’s news. Caring parents will buy most anything to promote school spirit, but this doesn’t mean you’ll attain your goal.
