We all know many people in the world, some of who we trust, other who we don’t. However, for the people we do trust, it is imperative that they trust us as well, as otherwise, we cannot truly trust them. We can make other trust us not only by trusting them, but by being loyal to them. Similarly, in my book, Book Thief by Markus Suzak, the author uses exposition to not only introduce the readers to the characters, but also develop the theme of the story which is during the duality of change, it’s important to stay loyal to those you trust.

Chapter twelve marks the beginning of Hank’s transformative journey with Sandy. This chapter also marks a shift in Twain’s language of how Hank thinks. Before this point, Hank had despised everything about the sixth century. During and after, he starts to become more accepting of the way the world is. He realizes that he doesn't have to complain about it anymore, but rather he needs to change it for the better.

Shaped The terrible actions Elie Wiesel had become victim to changed his faith in religion and what he lived for. Amazingly through it all he refused to die which left us with his terrifying memory ”night”. Throughout the memoir Elie is faced with many challenges that make him question his faith and change his morals for his father.

The next one hundred pages of The Book Thief takes the reader through the rest of part two, part three and through most of part four. Some interesting events occur, which carry out the plot. In addition, a few new characters are introduced. This section of The Book Thief starts off with a celebration of Hitler’s birthday.

One of the few certainties in life is suffering. In Markus Zusak’s novel The Book Thief, the main character Liesel is sent to a foster home because her mother is not able to support her in Nazi Germany. Liesel struggle without her brother, Hans’ battle against the societyal pressure from Nazi’s, and Max’s story are great exampes that suffering is most painful when one is alone.

In the novel The Book Thief written by Markus Zusak, Liesel Meminger’s life is in the middle of the Holocaust. After unfortunate events, Liesel is shown moving to a foster home in Molching, Germany. Her life changes completely as it was never before. Liesel Meminger, Max Vandenburg, and Rudy Steiner all go through different types of adversities and they find ways to overcome them.

The characters in a story. They are hard to bring to life, yet a story would be incomplete without them. I love to write, and I often don’t have troubles creating my characters. But what makes every character stand out is that special thing about each and every one of them. That’s one thing that I loved about “The Book Thief,” by Markus Zusak.

Based on the circumstances that they are developed in, humans are capable of both good and evil. Markus Zusak's The Book Thief explores the complexities of human nature through his use of setting, symbols and characters. Different characters possess different qualities based on their experiences. Symbols are used to illustrate both the beauty and the ugliness in humanity. Also, in the novel, the setting in which the character is raised has either a negative or positive effect on the characters actions.

Growing as a Character Every event in our lives happens for a reason, whether it is to learn from our mistakes or to gain experience from them. In Markus Zusak's novel “The Book Thief,” Liesel Meminger uses her experiences with living in the 1940s to learn life lessons and experience first hand the many terrible things Hitler is doing to people around her. She learns how to deal with the many obstacles that are thrown at her. Liesel grows as a character by following her step-father’s footsteps in being a kind and generous person, going through childhood with her best friend Rudy, and being aware of what is going on around her by learning from Max.

The Book Thief revolves around Hans and Rosa Hubermann, Rudy Steiner, Max Vandenburg, and the infamous ten-year-old book thief, Liesel Meminger. The setting is Himmel Street, Germany during World War II and the narrator is Death, who busily runs to and fro taking souls and stumbles upon the Book Thief’s very own handwritten book. Though Death might not be the narrator someone would think fit to be point of view for the book, he manages to catch and describe the beauty and destruction of war whilst telling the stories of the people living on Himmel Street. Along with Markus Zusak’s captivating writing, he will tell an unforgettable story set during the Holocaust from the views of a Jew on the run and four Germans while a war wages on. Whereas other authors would prefer writing from the victim’s perspective during the war, Markus Zusak gives insight on the Germans that had no choice but to grudgingly obey throughout Hitler’s rule.
