In chapter eight of Night, Elie’s father, Shlomo, struggled with inhuman treatment more than once. He became ill and was unable to control where and when he relieved himself. Shlomo had gotten dysentery from drinking the polluted water. The other sick prisoners he was housing with were so displeased, they beat him. “Eliezer… Eliezer… tell them not to beat me… I haven’t done anything… Why are the beating me?”

For the last few months, we have been reading the book Night by Elie Wisel. Elie is s 15 year old boy who survived the tragic events of the holcaust during World War 2. In this book, 86 year old Elie tells his compelling story of hardship and strength as he goes through the death camps of burkenwald and Aushwitz. In this essay, I will tell you about Another survivor and her story. Her name is Hanna Szper and I will tell you about her life before, during, and after the holcaust.

World War II, the second war Hitler was vanquished in but different battles. WWII Hitler decided to kill off all Jewish people, he wanted to wipe out their whole existence. But from all of this destruction came forth a man who was to tell their story, a boy who lost everything to a man who wanted Jewish people dead. Elie Wiesel, was the boy that was there from the start of this war against genocide. Elie have consequently written the book “Night” which tells his tale of the war moreover his survival.

The book Night is about Elie Weliezer and his father in a concentration camp, trying their best to stay alive. Throughout the book, Eleie ended up having to take care of himself and his father, so Elie had to go through so many obstacles with his father, who was dying through the process. The author, Elie Weliezer, wrote the book with lots of important/specific details, which made it easier to understand and visualize. "Not far from us, flames,huge flames, were rising from a ditch. Something was being burned there."

The book Night by Elie Wiesel is all about World War 2 and the Holocaust. This time period was between 1941 and 1945. If I were to choose one word to describe this book, it would be horrifying. The Holocaust is a very hard and horrible time period to go through. It was either live or die.

Celia Bowen is one of the protagonists and involved in every major part of The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern. We meet Celia very early on when we learn she is the daughter of Hector Bowen, better known by his stage name Prospero the Enchanter. Prospero was the best illusionist until he faked his death. Celia played an impactful role in both the plot and influencing the themes of this story. Celia portrayed an impactful role in plot multiple times throughout this book.

The holocaust, the worst act in all of human history was about the Germans tried to exterminate the Jews. Hunger In Ellie Wiesel’s book hunger is a big concept because on page 59 it says “Two cauldrons of soup! Smack in the middle of the road, two cauldrons of soup with no one to guard them!

The book starts out with twelve-year-old Eliezer in his hometown of Sighet. He leans the Cabbala from his teacher Moshe the Beadle. In fact, Moshe was one of the first Jews to be taken into the ghettos, and when he managed to escape, he attempted to warn everyone in Sighet. But, these warnings were overlooked, and as soon as they knew it, the whole town was crammed into a small ghetto. And soon after, they were all transported into camps.

The Character Development of Celia Bowen, “The Night Circus” by Aubrey Jones "The circus arrives without warning," (Morgenstern 1) and one of its many performers goes by the name of Celia Bowen, an illusionist. In the beginning, Celia is presented to the reader as a five-year-old girl who hardly speaks; Celia becomes hardened by the teachings of her father during the rising action; at the climax, Celia's ties with her father become close to broken and she slowly becomes a more happy and open person; finally, Celia's character is classified as a well-rounded person, having a knowledge and understanding of a great many things and really becoming more herself. Symbolism can be shown in objects, actions, and places. Chapter 4 of The Outsiders shows the outrageous act that Johnny and Ponyboy committed. Symbolism is shown by Bob’s rings, the park, and the church. To begin with, Bob’s rings is a part of the many symbols in this text. In the climax, Ponyboy realized that the man standing in front of Johnny and himself was the man who attacked Johnny in the lot.

In class we are working with a book call Night, by Elie Wiesel. This book is about a young man call Elie and his family that live in Transylvania that has a lot of trouble all around the book because like he is jews they send him and his family to a concentration camp and he is waiting for a miracle of god to save him but like he doesn't see nothing happening he is starting do get mad and stop believing in him, this book is basically about how world war I started because germans(nazis) thought jews were different people. Over the course of the book, Elie changes from a person who believes in god to a person who only thinks about food. This is important to the book as a whole because it connects to the fact that because of everything he is going though and he thinks that god will stop it or will help him but like he sees nothing is

Michael Meyer defines symbol as, "A person, object, image, word, or event that evokes a range of additional meaning beyond and usually more abstract than its literal significance" (Meyer 972). In "Battle Royal" by Ralph Ellison, the narrator struggles to understand his grandfather 's advice, he tries to live by it only to feel as if his grandfather mocks him for it. Throughout the story there are many symbols which seem to suggest a connection to the circus but are not understood by the narrator until he a dreams of them once more. The book that I chose to read was The Midnight Library written by Matt Haig (2020). This book portrays how strongly depression can negatively affect an individual throughout their life and how multiple life events can lead people to believing the only option is suicide. I believe that people who are depressed will often suffer in silence and decide to not speak up and get the help that they need. Matt Haig does an excellent job of bringing to light to a topic that is often overlooked. He accomplishes this by writing about a fictional character named Nora Seed.
