Andy faced multiple challenges in tears of a tiger but the most obvious one is the lost of his best friend Rob. He struggled with telling people how he was feeling about the accident and only opened up to very little people. I think that tears of a tiger is a great title for this book because I think it shows what Andy is like. The title is “Tears of a Tiger.”

The books opens with a newspaper article around a car wreck that killed the town's star basketball player, Robbie Wachington. Andy was the driver of the car and his three friends, Robbie, B.j., and Tyrone were also in the car when the accident occurred. Three of the young men were drinking which was the main reason for the accident happening in the first place. Andy, B.j., and Tyron all left the scene with minor wounds. The memory that haunts Andy the most is, him listening to Robbie shout to him, "Andy!

The book Water For Elephants by Sara Gruen has many interesting characters, themes and has many ups and downs such as the death of Jacobs parents, rendering him lost and unsure what steps he needs to take in order to find himself again. As well as a battle with his love for a woman he can't have. Jacob is a very well respected character who holds high values and although he struggles due to always helping others, he always puts in a solid effort. The real downfall is with Jacob Jankowski and his love for all life. Although August is the main antagonist who causes many problems for Jacob, if Jacob didn't have these qualities for caring for animals and people, his life would have been much easier throughout the story.
