The sewage system flooded basements, causing the city of Boston to lift the small neighborhood 18 ft above sea level. Gravel and rail was used under the houses. Some backyards were only lifted 12 ft above sea level. Today, as many walk by, they can notice the sunken gardens and it is just a reminder of how much history this neighborhood has endured. Imaging those people in the 1860 's waking up to sewage filled basements must have been a catastrify.

The valley of the kings is located just west of the Nile river and is the burial ground for almost all the pharaohs from 18th, 19th, and 20th dynasty. The valley of kings was constructed sometime around 1539 bc. The reason the the kings of the new kingdom chose to be buried in the lonely valley was fear for the safety of their rich burials. The valley of kings is home of 62 royal tombs. Almost all the pharaohs from Thutmose I to Ramses X are buried in the valley of the kings.
I have been really enjoying my story The priests graveyard so far it brings you on a rollercoaster. It makes it difficult to guess what is going to happen next. All though its difficult story to predict there are obvious objects playing a role in the book. The first object is a human in the story but I am referring to him as an object because Renee depends on him for survival.

However, three locations are suggested as its location of genesis, the first being France’s wartime trenches, the second being Shanxi Province, China, and the third being Kansas in the United States. France’s wartime trenches are characterized as being filthy and disease ridden
During slavery many blacks died for various reasons and when someone would die there would be some type of proper ceremony and burial given to that person by other slaves on the plantation. Since slaves did not physically have much, the possibility of having a fancy grave marker when you died was basically impossible. This means that the slaves had to go back to their roots and come up with ways to memorialize the death of their peers by using what they had and what they knew. At Hobcaw Barony plantation in Georgetown County, South Carolina slaves used basic objects to help with grave-marking. In Mama Day by Gloria Naylor the people on this island had a cemetery full of dead relatives and their old traditions go so far back in time that it

Throughout Purgatorio (Dante, 2004), many moments have sparked scholarly debates among commentators, one of which occurs in Canto IX. Near the end of Canto IX, Dante and Virgil reach the gate of Purgatory. When they reach the top of the gate, he begs him for mercy and to let Dante through the gates. In response, the angel traces the letter P on Dante’s forehead seven times. Lines 112-114 in Canto IV have sparked debate among commentators, regarding whether or not others penitents in Purgatory also have P’s carved onto their forehead, or if the P’s on Dante’s forehead is unique.
The usage and architecture of the Tower of London has allowed it to become known as a powerful building in history. The Tower can be viewed as regal yet hunting, due to its complex past. Behind the lovely Cabildo Museum, right next to the famous St, Louis Cathedral on Pirates Alley (I am intrigued by that name, it seems to start this mysterious 2-hour voodoo adventure off with the right tone, imagining all the old pirates in and out of this area from years ago) is where I shall meet my experience tour guide and others who are ready to stroll the streets taken for funeral processions to the old gravesites where they buried the dead at the ancient St. Louis Cemetery No.1. I’ve read the tales about the legendary Queen of Voodoo, Marie Laveau, so to be right there where she lived and worked her magic is going to be a great thrilling adventure. I know, I will be hearing stories about her that you just can’t read in books because
This compartment could be compared to a hidden tunnel or dungeon in gothic literature. One thing that relates very closely to gothic literature is Dorian ’s curse. Dorian becomes overwhelmed with jealousy for his painting which will never lose its beauty, and trades his soul to trade places with the painting. This trade-off for his soul becomes
The Tower of London has been a part of England’s culture for centuries, and is still relevant today. The Tower has been used for many different purposes, and is a popular tourist attraction in modern time. Prisoners, wild animals, and even the crown jewels have all resided in the tower throughout history. The stories and customs of The Tower of London are rich and varied. The Royal Menagerie is one of the most interesting things that I learned about the Tower.
