The great depression was a very hard time for almost all Americans. In 1930 there were 5 million people unemployed and it was up to 13 million by the end of 1932 in America. Almost all of America was classified as poor and didn’t have a living wage and most of America was falling apart. The three most impactful reasons that the Great Depression happened in the United States was because of the stock market crash, unregulated banking institutions, and overextension of credit/excess consumerism.

The Great Depression era was one of the most severe hardships in United States history. The amount of suffering that ordinary Americans endured during the Depression was unprecedented. The Depression caused big businesses like Ford to layoff much of their workers during the Depression. This massive unemployment caused millions of workers to lose their homes and their livelihoods, puting Americans in destitute situations of extreme poverty. During the Depression the contemporary safety nets that existed to help take care of people when disaster struck had dried up and was unable to assist everyone.

People were working so much it affected their health this system of stretched hours for little people let unemployment continue. Unemployment is a significant part of the great depression. According to document K 60 percent of people lived under the poverty line during the depression. Part of the reason for all the poverty was because there was a huge gap between the rich and the poor. Most people during this era needed help from the top percentage of wealthy people but they didn't receive help due to income maldistribution.

James, with no work available, struggled to win fights in boxing, in order to put food on the table for his family. The movie Cinderella Man was incredibly accurate of what it was like to live in the great depression, in its portrayal of the characters, setting, and events of the movie. Like in the movie, Jim J. Braddock was a boxer that lived during the great depression. He had many adversities that he had to face, and they are generally what fueled him to continue fighting. Movies usually tend to over exaggerate struggles, but Cinderella Man shows the raw reaction and reality during that time. The details about the characters in this movie are very accurate except for a few small details.

He is strong, hardworking, and tells fictitious stories in which he twists the truth. He is the breadwinner and plays a leading role in his thirty-three plus year friendship with Jim Bono. He is the centerpiece of all relationships in the movie. He is a father to Cory, Lyons, and Raynell.

In the classic hero versus villain tale, the struggle between good and evil seems to be black and white. And yet in Unbreakable (M. Night Shyamalan, 2002), the lines are blurred so that the villain creates a hero. The villain, Elijah Price (Samuel L. Jackson) has a disorder in which his bones break like glass and therefore distorting his childhood and making him seem like an outcast. As where our hero, David Dunn (Bruce Willis) is the star athlete, who gave up his potential career in football for a girl who he loved. The two characters are juxtaposed in every way possible: fragile to unbreakable, strong to weak, self-assured to needing guidance.

In the film “Zootopia” the main issue that is focused throughout the movie is the presence of predators and prey. The movie also focuses on the somewhat social standards built in this “perfect” society. However, as we all know there are no “perfect” societies, and that every society has its flaws. We start with the first issue of how predators and prey should interact with each other. In one of the first scenes we see Judy, the bunny and one of the main characters of the movie, standing up for one of her friends from a fox.
