Imagine You're out hunting in the mountains and it's freezing cold or you were guarding your village from attackers or someone is hunting you down and then Wahm! you were hit with an arrow in your back then everything goes black. Some know him as the iceman I know him as Otzi. This 5,300 year old man was found by two hikers hiking in the alps. The hikers thought it was a dead body so they called the police. The police brought a forensic scientist, but he said to call an archaeologist. Then the archaeologist came and took the body back to a lab examined the body, clothes and Otzi equipment and found out many things about that era . The equipment they found was a half finished bow,a leather quiver, 14 arrow shafts only 2 of them were complete,
Ambushed in the Alps Ötzi, a man of repute in his tribe, went up into the mountains above his home to seek counsel from the gods. On his return trip, Ötzi was ambushed. He shot some attackers, but one he faces hand-to-hand. Ötzi won his fight, but with it a terrible scar. His hand was wounded so that he could barely use it.
On: Mysteries Remain,” the arrow did not hit major organs in his body but the arrow did hit a major blood vessel which could have led to the iceman bleeding out.
The Death of Ötzi the Iceman Ötzi is the name for a mummy that was found in the European Alps in 1991 by a couple of hikers. When he was first discovered he had lots of injuries including cuts, broken bones, etc. He was originally thought to have been a hiker that had gotten lost and died, but it was later discovered that he was around 5,300 years old. He was found with many artifacts including clothes made of animal hide, shoes made of leather, grass, and plant fiber, an unfinished bow, several unfinished arrows, the remains of a backpack, a copper axe, and other similar items. This axe caused quite a stir because this axe supposedly was built thousands of years before the process of smelting copper was discovered in that area.
Archeology is the study of a human body analysis, which identifies many different characteristics detected through evidence of holism during the process of investigation of archeologists. To determine the life of the Iceman, also known as Otzi, would be to rely on his remains also found under the glacier, along with the discovery of his body, such as, a knife stone, arrows, copper axe and shoes of grass. At first glance these remains do not seem enough clues to determine anything about Otzi's life, but just studying the individual object like the copper axe shows he was probably a high dignity being in order to carry such equipment, which was used in the early stone age years for farming and hunting. Archaeologists also found arrows from Otzi's
In my personal and (hopefully) educated opinion, I believe that the national government should look to states when considering national policy. As examined in the 1932 case New State Ice Co. v. Liebmann, the United States Supreme Court found that a state may act as a testing ground for new policies as long as the citizens of that state choose to do so. The benefit of this is that new social and economic legislation can be put into place and be studied without the rest of the nation being put at risk. The Tenth Amendment of the United States Constitution provides this opportunity by stating “all powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the
Will Stone Criminal Justice 3 10/23/17 Richard Kuklinski- The Iceman Richard Kuklinski, or the Iceman, arrested for murder on the year of 1986. He had been killing for over 30 years as a hitman for the mafia, and estimates that he had killed over 100 people. With cold calculation, he took the lives of anyone who he deemed wronged him or failed to pay back the mafia. Having a loveless and abusive childhood, he was set up for failure by his parents, and that made him the man he ended up as.
This is about two people with some of the same things in the backpack and there two hundred years apart. They both explored the now state park Yellow Stone. They did in two different time one was in the 1800 's and the other in the late 1900 's. The one in the 1800 's name was John Colter and he did not have a nice time. The one in the 1900 's name in Tom Murphy and he had a better time. They have many different things and some they are the same.
In the book In a ROCKET MADE of Ice the children of Wat Opot community felt like outsiders because they have HIV/AIDS. They were being sold, stranded, unloved by their families, and being raped by people they love. They felt like people would not accept them because of their past. Most of the children were placed in a community shelter called Wat Opot; there they formed a bond with one another. They found family, and lived outside of fear or judgment.
Operation Iceberg, commonly referred to as the Battle of Okinawa, was the beginning of increased and intense fighting led by America and its allies to destroy the remaining Japanese fighters. Unbeknownst to them, Okinawa was their last and only chance to defend their country successfully. The leadership of the Japanese forces didn 't realize that Japan was in threat of being completed defeated. They lived to one of the biggest rivers in the world and created a system for showers with hot water and toilets. When they wet back to the plane to search for answers of where their stuff has gone to and the plane was gone, it just had vanished, the village became worrisome and couldn't figure out how the plane vanished and as they left the crash site of the plane where it no longer remained one of the villagers fell through a small hole into some kind of underground cave and the first thing he saw was the remains of the plane and then he looked passed the plane and saw all of the villagers belongings and he began to
Jon Spoelestra’s Ice to the Eskimos was very interesting and informative. Throughout the entire book, Spoelestra reflected upon the experiences and knowledge that he gained from working in the sports industry. One interesting aspect of the book was Spoelestra’s principle that organizations should design “an offer that consumers cannot refuse” (Spoelestra, 1997, p. 199). This was particularly interesting to me because of my interest in finance. Initially, I thought that if you make an offer too good, that you could potentially be losing out on some profit, however, after reading this book, this principle makes perfect sense.
This finding supports the theory that someone envied the iceman’s high position of power with in the clan. This is because during the copper age anyone who had or knew how to make these powerful copper weapons (in this case an axe) was considered to be extremely powerful. Research has shown that during this time the only way to gain power with in your clan would be for the current person in power to die. This explains why the iceman had been killed. Historians can infer that because the iceman was found with the axe that his killer did not want to be identified, when returning to the clan.
