This approach must encompass both ethical and social contributions and productivity metrics, recognizing employees who adhere to the organization's ethical standards and positively impact the workplace and broader community (Melton & Meier, 2017; Downe, Cowell, & Morgan, 2012).

Statecraft

Statecraft involves the strategic management of public affairs, crucial for managing VHA's HR department and ensuring organizational effectiveness. Statecraft may include recruitment, retention, and employee development strategies aligned with the organization's mission and goals, reflecting the principle of wise stewardship as expressed in the biblical parable of the talents (Matthew 25:14-30, New International Version; Van Dooren & De Caluwé, 2012).

Conclusion

Statesmanship offers a guiding framework for ethical, visionary, and people-centric leadership within public administration. Applying this model to VHA's HR policies, strategies, and procedures can considerably bolster the organization's effectiveness and commitment to serving veterans.
