Introduction:
Mexico is known for its big connection between drugs, money, and violence. Money from drugs is a major part of the economy in Mexico. Most illegal drugs enter the U.S. through the southwest border from Mexico. They enter the U.S. through unsecured parts of the border, smuggling tunnels, or trafficking methods. Thousands of people are murdered throughout the year because of this dangerous business. (Figure 1) Many people who decide to go against the cartel, or not help them often become the victims.

The last big cartel is the Gulf cartel. The Gulf cartel had lots of power and influence before what’s known as Los Zetas broke away from the group. Mex cuisine. Mexico has a system of states that make their own laws and they are connected to the Federal district, which is where the central government is located. The government is set up to protect the rights of the people but from the evidence of the fear of the cartel they are not doing a good job at that. The setup of the U.S. government is very influential on the setup of the Mexican government. This leads to the huge amounts of immigrants that try and enter the U.S. illegal, which then leads to overcrowding near the borders. Personal Perspective: I believe that in order for Mexico’s drug problem to be reduced the, demand for drugs in the U.S. has to go down. I believe that the government should take charge and eradicate the cartels by all means necessary. Mexico is a great place for farming and it can thrive well off of its agriculture, so its economy shouldn’t have to depend on
Thus, this book also traces the origins of prohibitionist drug laws in Mexico and later the origins of Mexico’s war on drugs.
"The Zetas have obviously assumed the role of being the number 1 organization responsible for most the homicides, the narcotic-related homicides, the beheadings, the kidnappings, the extortions that take place in Mexico," said US Drug Enforcement Agency’s chief for Mexico and Central America Ralph Reyes after the cartel murdered a police chief, his wife and four children in Veracruz, Mexico. Los Zetas were originally based on military lines, but the group has now been built into a business structure, with quarterly meetings, business ledgers, even votes on key assassinations, the DEA said. Los Zetas also post videos on the internet showing the killing of people. In one clip, posted in 2013, a group of masked men behead four women who allegedly were tied to a rival gang: The Gulf Cartel. The DEA is trying to stop the large drug distribution through foreign affairs but do not seem to be that big of a success Richard, F. (2013, March 1).
First, the region such as Mexico-U.S. border city is characterized by migration and mobility, with cross-border interactions common. For instance, Tijuana, Baja California, the northwestern-most city in Mexico
Outlaws Motorcycle Gangs Biker gangs have become popular lately. TV shows such as Sons of Anarchy have glamorized the lifestyle these groups live. More clearly they are glamorizing Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs (OMGs), also known as 1%ers and motorcycle clubs (MCs). These gangs are more devious than the way they are portrayed in the media. There are several well-known gangs: Pagans, Hells Angels, Banditos, Iron Cross, Mongols, Wind Walkers, and Outlaws.

The cash that 's flowing south, the weapons that are flowing south, and the drugs that are flowing north. Many illegal immigrants dig holes underground to get into the United States while smuggling drugs into the United States.
Furthering the problem, the cartels are currently recruiting children and adults alike to transport drugs. Many of the Mexican people would rather support the cartels because they can make much more money, and there are no real legal repercussions from their actions. In a case study done by Lucina Melesio & John Holman in Mexico cartels recruit children to smuggle people to US, a young boy named Ciudad Juarez transports drugs into the U.S., it is stated in the article that “[w]hile his journey means he can make up to $2,000 on a good day, thousands of other Juarez residents, who work the late shift in the city 's maquila factories producing goods for exportation to the US, earn around $5 a day”. Not only is Mexico in such shambles that smuggling drugs over the U.S. border is more lucrative than a steady job, also citizens would rather rely on cartels because of how corrupt the government is. The overarching consensus from the Mexican people seems to be that they cannot trust their leaders or the cartel, but the cartel helps them more than the

El Chapo was one of the most infamous drug lords that didn’t have their voice heard. When El Chapo escaped from prison it was a raining night and he hijacked two cars. El Chapo Guzman states that his Sinaloa cartel isn’t a “top-down corporation but a federation of tens of thousands of criminals.” Out of those tens of thousands of criminals they’re farmers, smugglers, corrupt police officers, and accountants. In 2006, Mexican police reported 11,800 murders, which rose to 22,800 in 2011, and dropped back to 15,600 in 2014.
When the did the gang start? How did it grow and develop? The Barrio Azteca was formed in El Paso, Texas in the prison system. The gang was formed in 1986 and the gang increased after 1996 because of the rise in the deportation of Mexican criminals from the USA.
