The book the outsiders was written by S. E. Hinton. The first date of its publication was 1967. The theme of the book is coming of age. The book was written when she was just a teenager and it has stayed a classic for all these years. The book is in the perspective of Ponyboy Curtis, a 14-year-old boy. In the book he talks about two weeks that reshape his life. in these two weeks his he runs away from home, his friend, Johnny, stabs someone and they hide out in a church in the country. He also saves some kids from a burning church and johnny get burned. Then one of his johnny dies cased by getting burnt and Dally, one of ponyboys other friends, gets shot. 16 years after the book came out, the movie came out. The movie mostly stayed true to the book but in some instances it did not. While their was many similarities between the book, there are still many differences to the movie. There are multiple things in the book that are not in the movie. The most obvious is that the book is longer. Also in the book he introduces the members of his gang before the story starts. In the book they also talk about sodas girlfriend sandy while in the movie they do not talk about her. In the book it tells of their walk to the …show more content…
Another similarity is that Ponyboy runs away from home. Afterward they go to Dally for help after Johnny stabs the boy. Another similarity is that Johnny and Ponyboy go to the church to hid out in. One other is Johnny and Ponyboy save some children from a fire. Another similarity is that johnny and dally get burned from the fire. another thing that happens in the book and the movie is that a fight happens between the soc’s and the greasers. In the concluding part of the book Johnny dies, this happens in both stories. In conclusion there are many similarities between the book and the
In my opinion there are a lot of comparisons between the film and the book, but there are also differences between them too, but also they have impacted the audience in both the film and the
In the movie, a scene was added to the book, the scene when Mrs. Foster and Winnie go to the bread shop. Another difference in the scene is that the book doesn’t include the scene at the bar were Miles is playing cards with another person. As well as the scene of the campfire and the dancing with Jesse and Winnie. Differences can also be in actions and what the actors say just like when Jesse and Winnie jump into the lake in the movie, and in the book Miles and Jesse jump into the lake, Jesse also tell Winnie the secret and Miles tells the story in detail instead of Mae, they didn’t discuss who takes Winnie to the lake, but in the book they do, the constable doesn’t go with the man in the yellow suit but Mr. Foster and his people do and on the other hand the constable went. Another Jesse never gives the bottle to Winnie but in the book he does, also the man in the yellow suit shoots Jesse with a gun and Jesse shows him he has everlasting life.
I say the movie is better than the book because it has more details
The Outsiders by S.E Hinton. The Outsiders is a coming-of-age novel by S.E. Hinton, published in 1967. The story is narrated by a 14-year-old boy named Ponyboy Curtis, who belongs to a group of working-class teenagers called the Greasers. The Greasers are constantly at odds with the wealthy, privileged group of teenagers known as the Socs.
“The Outsiders” was a very splendid. It talked about courage, bravery, friendship, and above all family. The film and the book communicated the same story and concept. They were both realistic fiction. Nevertheless there were a lot of differences and similarities.
The book says that Darry and Pony fight a lot, but in the movie they don’t fight very often. They only have one big fight when Pony falls asleep in the lot and Darry hits him. Soda and Pony’s relationship is also different in the movie. In the book that have a very close relationship and talk all the time. But in the movie they don’t spend any time together.
The film The Outsiders is based on a novel written by S. E. Hinton which was published in 1967. The book was adapted to film by a well-known director of the time named Francis Ford Coppola. With his guidance, a ninety-one-minute version of the original story was introduced to the masses on March 25, 1983. The film has been touted as a coming of age drama based in the 1960’s as it follows two teen groups of the time, the wealthy “soc’es” and the poor “greasers”, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The story showcases the black and white style of viewing the world teens categorically take on and the distinct socioeconomic differences between the two groups as they struggle with their place in the world.
Have you ever felt like an outsider? S.E Hinton wrote the outsider in 1967 set in Oklahoma, talking about the “Socials’’ and the “Greasers.’’ The real outsider from this article is pony boy and his struggles with right and wrong in a society, in which he believes that he is an outsider. Also, Pony boy was put into [A] classes, because he was suppose to be smart, but there were socials in most of the classes. So they thought it was funny.
Sunday, Pony and Johnny were hiding in the church on top of a mountain, where they stayed for five days. Friday, There was fire at the church. There Pony, Dallas, and Johnny saved the children in it. Saturday, The rumble
As in every book turned movie, there are similarities as well as differences. Between the book and the movie both are present. The first similarities appear with the characters and the parties. One of the similarities would be how Daisy is described.
To begin the characters between the movie and the book have similarities and differences. A similarity between the characters is that all the characters are the same in both the book and the movie
There are many similarities between the outsiders movie and book, here are some of them. In the movie and the book, Johnny and Ponyboy share a strong bond, but they nonchalantly add this factor throughout the book and movie. While in the church they both go to the their bond gets stronger with one another. Johnny and pony both sit in the parking lot and think about the painful things they went through. Another similarity
And another difference I noticed was in the book, Chris was caught dipping while he was running in SEAL training. In the movie, this never even happened. These are about all of the differences I noticed.
Stanley weighs 300 pounds, but in the movie he is very skinny. In the novel they do not mention that Barf BAg is bitten by a rattlesnake until Stanley arrives, but in the movie, he is bitten first thing. Another difference is that Magnet did not steal the sunflower seeds from Mr. Sir’s truck.
In conclusion, the movie was much more detailed than the book. In the book all characters had lines to speak. In the book the characters barely spoke. The author of the book was just writing facts in the book. The movie had much more action than the book because the movie was doing much more than stating facts.
