Her was chosen the best film of 2013 at the National Board of Review, it earned total five Academic Awards to Spike Jones. He should be proud of it. This movie is about Theodore, who falls in love with computer software.

I chose The Royal Tenenbaums for analyzing in my semester project paper. It is a comedy film directed by Wes Anderson released in 2001. Film is created around a distorted family and their relationships. Father lefts the family and starts to live in a hotel for a long time. To extinguish his family’s hatred to him, he makes up a story with he has cancer and he is going to die.

Media in our modern era is the main source of information. What the media reports and says is what shapes our societies views and ideas on certain issues or events. Therefor the media is a powerful industry but sometimes they can be misleading and fickle. Introduction When I was asked to do a movie review of the film entitled Antwone Fisher I was hesitant as to what to write. However, as I watched the movie there was a flood of emotions and thoughts that entered my mind. Antwone Fisher the movie was based on a true story of a man, who ended up writing a screenplay about his experience. The movie was based on Antwone Fisher’s life who is an African-American in the United States Navy that was stationed in California.

Society expect to be constantly entertained; they have become so concerned with things such as who the latest star is dating, scandals, or dumb people doing rather idiotic things. Much of society have been consumed in their personal instant gratification and what makes them “happy”. When on an off chance that news does show things that are serious and impactful(not necessarily positive things that is happening in the world) people have become so numb that the best they could do is feel sympathetic and at worst continue on with their day. The other part of the problem is that those behind what is being published and shown on the news media have been absorbed in their avarice nature, whatever allows them to make as much profit they do. “Writing thousands of hours of coverage from what could have been summarized in a couple of minutes every few weeks, a new rhetorical strategy was developed, or-let’s be generous-evolved”(6), Saunders describes the new formula formed by mass news firms that would yield the most profit.

Lion, directed by Garth Davis, is a compelling interpretation of a remarkable true story of Saroo Brierley, lost as a child and reunited with his family 25 years later. Throughout Davis explores the unique circumstances under which Saroo is separated and reconnected with his family and his journey along the way. At some points of the film, I was confronted by how Saroo, a five-year-old boy, expertely navigates, with great instinct and genuine innocence, through an extended, yet life threatening ride. To put it in other words, Lion is a journey that grabs you entirely; whether you want it or not, and you are involved in each and every scene. I instantly fell in love with the connection and relationship between Saroo and his older brother

The film 'The Princess Bride' is directed by Robin Rynes and was written by William Goldman. This film is presented in a way no other fairytale was presented, it was presented by a grandfather reading this book to his grandson, but the young boy wasn't interested listening to a fairytale. This fairytale is about a full-length fairytale full of fanciful characters, madcap adventures and a lot other things surely not for everyone's taste. But this film but different twists, it has humor,sweetness, and sincerity. Even though the boy who disliked fairy tale's eventually enjoyed the story.

For instance, when Cal got a bunch of photos that has Sonia in it, he did not reveal it to Bell- the police officer. Instead, he just shared it with his colleagues which were Della and Cameron. This can directly be related to media biasness because as Cal got on hold with those photos, he had extra information. The information he had on hand not only have political value but also has social and economic value. Thus, by holding on to those photos, it benefited Cal and his colleagues because they had more evidence.

In the film 12 Years a Slave the editor, Joe Walker, makes use of a couple of techniques and styles that adds to the film in its own way. Long shots – Joe kept the long shots as long as he thought was necessary to add to the subject matter and the feeling he wanted to bind with the story. At the end of the film there’s this extremely long shot where Solomon is practically staring at the camera for about a minute and a half. The timing of that shot is so perfect because it’s not too short so you don’t have enough time to think about what just happened or too much time to overthink the situation. Closer to the end of the shot he lets the sound fade slowly and rapidly gives you a wakeup call when the next shot starts off where Solomon and the rest of the slaves are busy working in the field.

As heard in the movie Akeelah and the Bee, quote by Marianne Williamson, “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.

Princess Diana’s brother, Lord Spencer, in his eulogy, expounds on the many great qualities Princess Diana possessed. Spencer’s purpose is to honor the memory of his sister while exposing the great person she was, contrary to what the media said. He enacts this by utilizing a proud tone, pathos, and sentimental diction in order to portray not the Diana known by the world, but the Diana he knew. Spencer begins his eulogy by flattering his sister using a proud tone. He states that she was the very “essence of compassion, of duty, of style, of beauty.”

The Pirates is a British/American animation film, produced in 2012 by Aardman Animations in partnership with Sony Pictures Animation. It is also a swashbuckler movie, in similarity with “The pirates of The Caribbean”. Swashbuckler means that it contains a lot of sword fighting. Aardman Animations earlier produced the Wallace & Gromit movies, and you can see very many similarities between “The pirates!” and the Wallace & Gromit movies in the way it is animated.

Transitioning from a killing machine to a civilian can be a difficult task for anyone, and transitioning from a man to a woman can be just as hard, and both can be traumatizing to the mind. Kristen Beck, a Navy SEAL veteran, has gone through both transitions and shares her story in the film Lady Valor. Kristen has gone through the horrifying events of war and has faced the hardships of being transgender, both of which have been tough on Kristen both physically and mentally. From a male war hero to a female veteran, Kristen has gone through several experiences that are all psychologically interesting.

The agenda-setting shows how powerful the media is pertaining to people agendas. Agenda-setting is also known as gatekeeping which goes through several steps before it reaches the public. Basically, what an author goes through in order to get their book published. The agenda for the media is discussions in politics, economic issues, crimes, and etc. The theory of framing is associated to agenda setting but expands the research.
