Gilded age 1878-1889 was the age of fast growth of industry and immigrants in America history. The production of steel and iron rose radically than other time. In contrast, the Western resources increased such as silver,lumber, and gold. As well as the transportation also improved. Railroad develop and move goods from resources rich west to east.

Although the argument that the Gilded Age did not have much of an effect on today's industry could be created, the role it played in changing the laws that actualize our reality today is only present due to this time. The Gilded Age, though it appeared to be a sensational time of growth, on the outside it was driven by power-hungry trusts with enough power to influence the government. Monopolies, to increase profits would turn jobs into a plant of never-ending production with underpaid workers, and undervalued staff. These Trusts had monopolies on different products where they could increase or decrease the prices without the thought of what would happen to the worker. During the Gilded Age Trusts gained power by influencing the choices of governmental figures.

The 1870s, 1880s, and the 1890s were apart of the Gilded Age because it was a time of major technological innovation and a rise in foreign trade for the U.S. It was also a time when businesses expanded not only in each area of the manufacturing process but in the number of buildings as well. At the end of the 18th century, a new aged had arrived, known as the Gilded Age, it is where the economic, social, and political atmosphere was heavily influenced by industrialization. Before the Gilded Age, United States was still expanding their territories, Southerners were still living in small farms, while England and other European countries were more advanced in industrialization. Then 30 years later, after the Civil War, America was one of the countries in the world to lead in industrial power. The dramatic development, changed everyone’s life, people that used to live in farms moved to the urban cities in search of new opportunities, wave of inventions such as the telephone was made, and industries boomed. Industries affected the economic, social, and political atmosphere, affluent industries was manipulating iron, oil, railroads and even the workers; which increased the gap between the wealthy and the poor.

At first, railroads in America connected the country as a whole with their trading and corporations were setting up towns around the railroad companies to help pull people in for employment. As people used the railroads to move farther West, more migrated and set up homes and businesses there to help support their families as they worked in this busy time. As more people moved, the factories grew in size, and in came the Gilded Age. During the Gilded Age, America seemed prosperous because of how fast and big these cities were becoming. This caused more people to immigrate around the country, looking for work.

Industrialization and Industrialists had many important impacts on America. The era of industrialization known as the " Gilded Age" opened up many new doors for the American people. The industrialist Andrew Carnegie had one of the biggest impacts on America by far. Carnegie was responsible for the production of steel.

The Gilded Age was the greatest decade of economic growth for the country, as it witnessed the birth of a modern industrial economy along with industries like railroads, oil, and steel steering it into becoming an industrial powerhouse. Prior to industrialization, Americans created good mainly to be used by themselves, or to be sold locally or regionally. The Gilded Age prompted the mass-production of goods to be sold around the world. Many technological advances and innovations were made in order to steer the US into this direction. Imagine working sixteen hours a day in an unsanitary, dangerous, place for a big business gaining two dollars. This is what laboring-class Americans had to go through during the Gilded age. Politically, the first largest American labor union was formed during the Gilded age and many other organizations formed as well as violent strikes. Socially, different ethnics joined together to share their thoughts and realize the evils of big business and of the federal government. Mentally, most we 're losing their personal life while some were financially stable and glad.

Mark Twain in the late nineteenth century founded the “Gilded” Age, which means covered with gold on the outside, but not really golden on the inside, for example, tin. This period of time was glittering on the surface but corrupt underneath. In other words, the outside looked beautiful, but the inside looked old and trashy.

The Gilded Age was to describe America in the late nineteenth century. The outside of the US seemed glamorous and splendid alongside industrial development and massive economic growth. However, the dark sides were hidden beneath it. In my perspective, I believe we are living in the 2nd Gilded age.

Industrialist had a huge impact on the gilded age. The gilded age was a rapid expansion of industrialism and a massive jump in the population of immigrants in america. The industrialist during the gilded age such as Andrew Carnegie, John D. Rockefeller, and Vanderbilt had a big impact because of their businesses. Vanderbilt was the first of the three to be a leader of industry. Vanderbilt made millions using the railroad system and built an empire with them.

Although society today may often times recognize this time as a prosperous time that allowed growth and improvements in techniques of everyday life. Per Merriam Webster, the term gild means to “to give an attractive but often deceptive appearance to” (Gild, n.d.). After the Civil War the American people had become tired of all the corruption and simply wanted to see an end to it and to have a stable economy. The Gilded Age was fashioned to be prosperous times for all Americans, promising wealth, and an end to past political corruption.
