The long,bloody wars that America has encountered are faced with many conflicts. One of the wars that America has gone to is the Mexican American War. It’s 1846, and many schisms has been between Mexico and America with the problem of arguing over Texas. Mexico had originally owned Texas but Texas wanted to annex itself over to the U.S. But there are other reasons why America went to war and these reasons are they killed one-half of the U.S. troops, threatened us for crossing their border, annexation, and invasion.

The story takes place in a Mexican town that has been taken over by the United States during the Mexican-American war, and the military base that coincides with it. The use of irony throughout the story reveals the inward fight of the town to retain their culture while slowly sinking into the American way of life. Because of border troubles, soldiers had returned to Fort Jones, the fort next to town, and while the town has adjusted to their presence, certain ironies reveal their true feelings and changes they have gone

It was a rough time period because wars were raging, in every country.

At the height of the Gilded Age, the want of power outside of the American borders controlled the causes and ends of war, specifically the Spanish-American War. A war that lead a country whose history was founded on independence to seek dominance over its own colonies. There were two clear opinions to this imperialist stance, for and against. Both opinions were ironically based in the same general ideas only with different perspectives on them. Arguments and questions based on morality, economic stability, and God given purposes.

In the year 1846 America went to war with Mexico over a simple land dispute. Quite like children they fought over boundaries and borders. The land in dispute in the beginning was Texas, but then it grew to include much much more land, enough to double the size of America and basically half Mexico. America made claims, Mexico refuted them and the United States took charge anyway, attempting underhandedly to get Mexico to act against the political bullying, making war justifiable. All in all a rather undignified encounter.

The Mexican War between the U.S. and Mexico has expanded the borders of the U.S. and shrunk the country of Mexico. Till this day there is still debate if the U.S. was justified in going to war with Mexico. Now, There are many reasons why the U.S was not justified in going to war with a young and growing Mexico such as, Polk wanted to start a war, falsely advertising events that soon led up to the war, and how Mexico let Americans on their land to help the young country out. these claims are proved by new sources that have come to light instead of the stories the American history books teach kids in schools.

Crucible of Empire In 1898 as a result of the Spanish American War, the United States established itself in its role as an imperial power in the world. The war also caused a modern, globalized America that was on the threshold of becoming a global superpower. However, this new role for America was against the initial founding values of anti-imperialism. The Mexican-American War marked an enormous symbolic impact for both nations which changed people’s lives. There’s many similarities and differences between these two countries, the combat that began during 1846 between Mexicans and Americans has brought catastrophe and teared many families apart. The war commenced because Mexico claimed the Nueces River and its northeastern boarder while Americans demanded the Rio Grande River. Overall they had problems with land property, Mexico started the battle first and launch fire on April 25, 1846. This is when all the problems and fight’s begin and how Mexican’s and American’s became great enemies that can’t stand each other.

Imagine being being in a war and getting a giant amount of your land taken for no justifiable reason. That is what happened to the people of Mexico in the war. The War on Mexico was a war between Mexicans and Americans where the Americans wanted to expand the slave market and the mexicans wanted no part in that. The Americans then annexed texans to expand their land but they also wanted some of Mexico’s because it was bigger. Lots of Tension grew over time and it resulted in a War.

The Spanish-American War occured over a few months in 1998 and became referred to as “a splendid little war”. The tension leading up to the war lasted longer than the war itself. In 1895, Cuba began to revolt against the Spanish government and Americans seeked to help the Cubans--But also imperialize their country. In February, 1998, The U.S.S. Maine exploded while en route to help Americans in Cuba and the Spanish were blamed immediately. Theodore Roosevelt, assistant secretary of the navy, was furious with President Mckinley for not taking action throughout the time leading up to the Spanish-American War.

INTRODUCTION Throughout the 1840s and 1850s a major war happened called the Mexican American War which drastically changed the U.S. and Mexico and lead to the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo to be signed and which established the Rio Grande and not the Nueces River as the U.S Border. This also lead to the U.S. annexation of Texas and lead to the Mexico agreeing to sell California and the rest of the territory for 15 million. Did you know that Mexico lost 320,000,000 acres of land to the United States of America. The Mexican American war was a battle were America wanted Mexico's land but Mexico didn't want to sell the land so they fought for the land and America won. Although the United States war against Mexico resulted in the gaining of America's most valuable land, the war itself was unjust because of Texas being undisputed territory, the annexation of Texas, and because Texans had slaves and it was against the law. The texans sparked the war because they did not want to follow the Mexico's law.

“The United States was indasissible for both legal and security reasons.” Although the United States wanted more land the Mexican American war was not justified because United States knew about disputed area and provoked Mexican troops, another slave state added, and they had no respect for the Mexican government. The United States war with Mexico continues to be a divisive topic among many people because of its background. The Mexican-American war was a fight between Mexico and America for land. America’s belief at the time was Manifest Destiny, which meant that they believed that America should extend from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific ocean. In the end, America benefited from the war and got the land. The United States expanded its size, achieving their dream of Manifest Destiny.
