1. “‘[It’s] a sin to kill a mockingbird.’” It relates to the novel because it is a sin to kill a mockingbird. Boo radley and tom robinson are the mockingbirds it reflects to the novel because mockingbirds don't bother you or do anything to hurt you. Tom robinson never hurt anyone and neither did boo radley. Atticus is basically saying that it is a sin to kill boo radley or kill tom robinson.
2. “‘You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view . . . until you climb into his skin and walk around in it.’” you will most likely never understand a person not unless you have been in

What/who is a mockingbird in the novel? How? To kill a mockingbird is a sin, but they don’t do anything for them you to kill them. They don’t bother you and they provide beautiful music. There are two characters who could be the mockingbird. One is Tom Robinson who obviously didn’t do anything and still went to prison for trying to help a little girl. The other Boo Radley would be like (“sort of like shootin’ a mockingbird”) like Tom Robinson has never done anything to anyone but have kindness to everyone especially the Finch Family, The children know that he needs help to be protected. Boo Radley is the mockingbird. Treating innocent beings with respect and kindness is an important lesson in Scout’s moral …show more content…
. . if I didn’t I couldn’t hold up my head in town, I couldn’t represent this county in the legislature, I couldn’t even tell you or Jem not to do something again’” (75).
Atticus is trying to do everything right and he knows when something is wrong. He spent his life doing what's right and moral, Atticus doesn't try to live a moral life. He and his town know that the right thing to do is to defend and protect Tom Robinson from a false accusation and from a racist.
E. Respond to two other people's answers. In your responses, you must continue the conversation that their answers begin. You do not have to respond to every answer in a post - make sure you indicate to which part(s) you are responding. Do not simply tell them what a good job they did, bruh. I think that the mockingbirds represent two characters in the book, who are Tom Robinson and Boo Radley. Tom Robinson is a man with a loving family who was convicted of raping a teenager. All the evidence points to him being innocent, yet he is still convicted and sent to jail. Then he ends up getting shot at for trying to escape. This is a good example of a mockingbird in the book, because Tom Robinson was an innocent man, yet
Boo Radley and Tom Robinson are both symbolized by the mocking bird. Boo Radley is symbolized by the mockingbird. He is a sweet, gentle, innocent man. He looks out for the children, and leaves gifts for them. Boo left gifts inside the tree outside of his house for them to find and keep.
The book essentially has nothing to do with mockingbirds, but a symbol, a comparison of mockingbirds to the innocent Boo Radley and the African Americans of Macomb. Lee shows and as “the title indicates, the novel's most pervasive and unsubtle symbolism concerns itself with communal negotiations of these outsiders and their alterity to others” (Crespino). As Miss Maudie said, “mockingbirds don’t do one thing but make music for us to enjoy . . . but sing their hearts out for us. That’s why it’s a sin to kill a mockingbird” (Lee 99).
Sometimes I think I’m a total failure as a parent, but I’m all they’ve got. Before Jem looks at anyone else he looks at me, and I’ve tried to live so I can look squarely back at him… if I connived at something like this, frankly I couldn’t meet his eye, and the day I can’t do that I’ll know I’ve lost him. I don’t want to lose him and Scout, because they’re all I’ve got(Pg. 314).”’ Atticus always had a sureness to himself and lets that go in this moment. He reflects on himself as a parent and how he has held up his ethics.
Atticus also takes on defending an African American. Not many people would do this back then people they were racist and rude. When Atticus took on this case he knew that they didn’t have a shot at winning, but he took it on anyway because he knew it was the right thing to do. The town was rude and disrespectful to Atticus, but Atticus never backed down. Atticus also did his best to defend Tom and overall with all the evidence Tom should not have been guilty.
It portrays mockingbirds as very innocent animals that do nothing to harm us. They do not bother humans but rather make music for us instead. This quote lays out the basis for what a mockingbird is and what they symbolize. The novel presents several characters as mockingbirds, a representation of innocence injured or destroyed through contact with evil; specifically,
Beside all Atticus believe anytime a white man treat a black person unapropriate, that man have no value in the eyes of the society as well as himself(pg:290). As a result of Atticus being a lawyer make him have more reason to defend Tom Robinson in order to maintain justice in the society he live
Atticus knows that “there’s been some high talk around town to the effect that [he] shouldn’t do much about defending [Tom Robinson]” (100). However, even though his family and friends my disagree, may even think less of him, Atticus’ interaction with this case gives his cause to think greater of himself because he is fighting for what he believes in. This kind of situation is difficult when you’re opposing you’re enemies, but even harder when you are up against your friends. Even so, Atticus on the path he knows is right, risking his popularity and status among the town. Atticus tells Scout, “you just hold your head high and keep your fists down.
Atticus is also a very selfless person. Atticus made sure tom was going to be okay by staying at the jail with him. “Atticus was sitting propped against the front door.”(Lee 201). It shows that Atticus would sacrifice his time to make sure that Tom Robinson would be okay. Atticus also doesn 't like guns and would not shoot one unless he had to.
Have you ever thought what would happen if one person started to believe in something that’s others didn’t. Then what if everybody else started to follow along. That reminds me of this game called Fortnite. One person started playing it then everybody followed along.
In the novel To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee many characters are victims of the harsh conditions of Maycomb County. Often those who are seen to be metaphorical mockingbirds are punished the most. A mockingbird is one who only wants and attempts to do good. Characters such as Boo Radley, Jem Finch and Tom Robinson are exemplars of mockingbirds in Maycomb. In the novel it is explained by Atticus that killing a mockingbird is a sin because they do not do anything to harm to us like nesting in corncribs, or eating up the gardens, they only sing for us.
In the novel To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee the term mockingbird symbolizes innocence in a person. In the novel it focuses on the fact that innocence, represented by the mockingbird, can be wrongfully harmed. There are two characters: Tom Robinson and Arthur “Boo” Radley that are supposed to represent the mockingbird. In the novel, Tom Robinson is the best example of a mockingbird because he is prosecuted for a crime he did not commit. Also, he was judged unfairly based on the color of his skin in his trial.
The mockingbird in To Kill A Mockingbird is symbolic of innocence. Early in the novel, Atticus, the father tells the children Scout and Jem that it is a "sin to kill a mockingbird". Later Scout asks Miss Maudie what he meant by that because she has never heard her father say anything was a sin. Miss Maudie explains his reasoning by saying that all mockingbirds do is provide beautiful music. They do not harm anyone, they don't bother anyone, and they "sing their hearts out for us."
Mockingbirds never bring harm to anybody. Tom Robinson, Boo Radley, and Atticus Finch resemble mockingbirds because they never bring harm to anybody. Boo Radley is prejudged because he never came out of his domicile. Boo Radley never brought harm to anybody, he just choose to stay in his domicile and never come out. Tom Robinson is prejudged because he has black skin and not white skin.
