Introduction
The Uniformed Public Services (U.P.S’s) use many different forms of formal written communications a lot of the time as a big part of their communication system.
There are many different types of formal written communication. They include:
Letters:
Often letters that are sent in the public services are formal. The letters usually contain official information, for example, a schedule. The language within formal letters should be straight to the point and the information is normally listed. When there is communication on a person-to-person basis, demi formal letters are used for example, thanking someone for a job well done.
Here is an example of a formal letter set out in the standard format used by the Army.

They are normally used to give and receive information between colleagues via the computer networks web space. It has similarities to the Internet; the main difference being that what goes on the intranet isn’t available in the public domain. The reason that organisations resort to using an intranet system is to make sure that confidential information is kept confidential. In most cases you will need to log into a computer within the network to gain access to its information.
All intranets are designed specifically to the organisations needs. Some employees use it more than other, it isn’t always a requirement to use the intranet network, but all employees should have access to it. The information that is normally shared via the intranet network include the organisation’s policies and procedures, key announcements as well as minutes from meetings that were held. The reason that organisations use an intranet system is that its cheap and reliable as well as there it can hold a lot of information. They are used so staff are up to date of up and coming events or useful information. These notices are commonly placed on electronic notice boards (For example, Moodle), which staff are able to access via their computers and in some cases they can be placed visibly around the workplace. The notice boards are very communal and not all staff will find all the information relevant. However, they can read information that is relevant to them.
Standard operation procedures:
These are normally stand-alone bits of information and can also be found as supplements. They are best described as guidelines of operating various procedures. The aim of this is to give some form of structure to a standard operation procedure, to help with workers in the public sector to make the right decisions in the little time that they may have
Brigade bulletins:
Bulletins are an informal way for a whole team of workers in the public sector to get information. They can include pictures and graphics, and are normally to address something like a picnic or a barbeque. Moat areas of the public services have their own forms of the bulletin
1. Goal The primary purpose of this lab was to get familiar with RLES and establish a base infrastructure. This infrastructure includes a router/firewall and Linux server for network monitoring and documentation. Network monitoring is crucial in any infrastructure, no matter how small or how large.
There are several differences between a policy, a standard, and a guideline. Policies are typically a statement produced by senior management relating to the protection of information. It outlines security roles and responsibilities. It also describes the controls that are set in place to protect pertinent information. Each policy should make some form of reference to the standards and guidelines that support it.
The tone of these two letters affects them greatly. If the letters didn 't have a serious tone or was monotone the editor would not read the letter of it 's full length. the tone in letter a is very playful at first but becomes more serious closer to the end. Though there are many, Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the United States Marshals Service (USMS) are the two I chose to talk about. ATF’s primary function is to “fight against firearms crime, arson, explosives violations, and the illegal trafficking of alcohol and tobacco products” (Andrew L. Lluberes, 2005). The ATF is additionally used in investigating non-terroristic explosive incidents and aiding assisting, state and local law enforcement, in investigating any incidents relating to any of the crimes included above.
An Application of Federal Plain Language Guidelines Introduction The Plain Language in Government Communications Act of 2008 states: “In this Act... The term ‘plain language’ means language that the intended audience can readily understand and use because it is clear, concise, well-organized, and follows other best practices of plain language writing” (sec. 3). Federal Plain Language Guidelines were published in 2011 to provide the principles of plain language which should be applied in documents of the federal government. These guidelines were developed to help public organizations produce documents that are designed and organized to be easily understood by users.

There are many different types of business documents that are used daily in business environments, for example; Emails- The fastest way to send documents and information and follow the format of recipient and subject. Health and safety at work act 1947 The health and safety at work is the legislation, which covers the employees’ health and safety in the UK. The law requires a high level of management that employers must follow, they must look at risks and assess them and take a sensible measure to prevent these risks from happening. This policy and procedures is for Risk assessments and the fire policy/procedure. This promotes safety because care organisations have to make sure that they are able to provided a safe environment in a health and social care setting.
