I am pleased to submit my application to the University Honors Program. I am someone who thrives educationally in a smaller, close-knit community and I believe that the UHP can offer that to me. I am excited to become a part of a smaller population of learners within the larger university with seminar-sized classes that would allow for more interactive discussions and in-depth learning. I would also like the challenging yet fascinating curriculum that would be offered in this program, as it would better prepare me for my career as well as graduate school. I believe that the University Honors Program would be a wonderful opportunity for me both educationally as well as intellectually. Working with exceptional faculty and other like-minded students in a more intimate setting would allow me to grow as a person and not just as a student.
The unique challenges offered by your Honors Program would be a welcome environment for me as I continue my studies at the collegiate level. I am one who can contribute more positively in a smaller setting, and I believe that not only would this program benefit me, but I would also be a benefit for it. I look forward to exchanging thoughts and ideas with other students and feel that I would be an

I have always been drawn to how things worked, especially when it involved computers, and I knew that one day my passion would become my career. I have had several unique experiences that have fostered my growth in this field, from interning for several summers for my high school’s IT department to working as a Sensei at Code Ninjas my senior year. Both experiences have helped me develop a unique skill set with my chosen Computer Science major. I learned about how to repair computers on one end and coding on the other. This, paired with completing AP Computer Science, has allowed me to hone my craft and I feel certain that this is the best career path for

National Junior Honors Society Essay By: Megan Pacchioli I am very excited by the opportunity to represent my school as a member of the National Junior Honors Society. Both in and out of school I support the Five Pillars of the NJHS, which are scholarship, service, citizenship, character, and leadership. I represent these five pillars by my grades and academic achievements in school, my dedication to my church, my dojo, and my soccer team. As well as taking part in my communities activities, being a responsible person, and manifesting my leadership on the court/field out of school.
I find it is very gratifying to know that when we all work together for a common cause, the outcome is beneficial to people in our community. These experiences in the New Hampton community have created and strengthened my values of hard work, academic success through education, and community participation. As an eager young person, I believe these are the key factors in having a career and being successful in life. I know that many of my peers share my enthusiasm for success and the New Hampton community has a history of strengthening young people to become successful adults. I also know the difficult decision that is before this committee in making the choice for those whom will be selected into this year’s National Honors Society, this decision will require both thought and hard consideration.
Pouring a cup of hot chocolate and grabbing a bag of popcorn was best decision I made all day. Instead of watching the last JV football game of the year, I decided to help the concession stand disperse food and beverages to the community. Giving a little to my community brought me gratitude even though I did not benefit from it. Working for good causes was all I needed for choosing to work over spectating a game. Helping the community is one attribute I would like to continue and joining National Honors Society would allow me to do this.

The National Honors Society requires and represents four important core values: Character, Leadership, Service, and Scholarship in which I believe describes myself as a person on many levels. Of a person, their character is what makes a person unique, which I believe undoubtedly is one’s most important trait. Therefore, I believe my character consists of many components, being able to welcome and help others without hesitation would overall be my best characteristic. For example, if I was to encounter an individual struggling with a situation, whether it be physically or emotionally I am always there to help, no matter the consequences or hardships that may come along with the task. As a student, I would be best described as determined due
It is a great honor to be considered for membership in the National Honor Society. Dear the National Honor Society selection committee, Thank you for the great honor of being invited to apply for membership to such a well-respected and incredible organization. I am very excited about this opportunity as it presents an optimal way in which to further my passion of expanding my mind and bettering my community. Since I entered high school, I have pursued this by taking all honors classes and any Advanced Placement classes offered to me each year. Although sometimes I was not always entirely sure what to expect walking into each class, and of course there have been classes I like more than others, there is no class I regret taking because each and every one has opened my mind up to a new way of thinking.

Without a commitment to my education, I will not graduate with the proficiency and competency necessary to enter the workforce.
I am ready to board the ship, and set sail – pointing towards a bright future of being an ECU pirate. Being admitted into the Honors College at ECU would be the catalyst to a successful future. As a high school student, kids are always asked if they know what they would like to pursue as a career. Many students still don't know the answer to that question by the end of their high school years. Others have a clue at what they would like to do, including me. I know that I like to work with computers, and that I’m highly interested in how computers and networks operate. I did my senior exit project on building my own computer
