Veterans Day Speech Analysis

I firmly believe that such memorials are extremely valuable to veterans. It has been said of veterans that they seldom talk about their military experiences; however, in my thinking, that is not an accurate appraisal. We think about those times; nonetheless, it’s difficult to find, even among loved ones, those with whom one feels at ease to share those memories and feelings. YET, standing in the solitude of these memorials, a soldier’s thoughts flow freely as he/she reminisces

Today we will be visiting the American Veterans Disabled for Life Memorial in Washington D.C. It was dedicated by Barack Obama and was established in October of 2014. Good times to visit are from 10 am to 4 pm. The must see list is The voices of the Veterans, the reflecting pool, and the star fountain & ceremonial flame. First we will be seeing the Wall of Gratitude and is a quote from George Washington from 1783.

It reinforces my commitment to fight for a nation where every citizen is valued and respected, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity. It is a fight for the true ideals that our Military upholds—equality, justice, and freedom for all. My duty as a veteran and an ally is to speak out against injustice and fight for a society that embraces diversity and equality. As someone claiming to love this country and honor our fallen veterans, Mr. Jones's speech is especially troubling. Memorial Day is a solemn occasion that should transcend political divides and unite us as a nation.

Thank you Veterans Veterans do a lot for us by defending our country and our home. We thank them by having a full day dedicated to our veterans. Three reasons that I think veterans should be thanked for are; going out to defend our country when no ones else does, I also want to thank you for demonstrating a great work ethic and doing all of this work for people you don’t even know. The first thing I want to thank you for was for defending our country.

Every time Veterans Day is forthcoming we demonstrate our gratitude for their service but ultimately some war veterans define it as inadequate. An Iraq war veteran, Wes Moore, in Ted Talks, expresses how the phrase "Thank you for your service" which many civilians would utter was an ambiguous statement to him. Upon his return from war, the multiple occasions he encountered the statement, it was just a simple meaningless phrase. The phrase just meant his service at war was pointless because people only conveyed their gratefulness but never asked about his experience at war or how was he after the war. Praising a veteran who participated in the military isn't enough of an appreciation for many veterans because revealing the term "Thank you for your service" is an awkward comment that rather of expressing a sincere gratitude, instead exhibits how many individuals deliver this statement not because they genuinely mean it but because it's the appropriate deed

America, is a child that sleeps all day, and cries all night A nation with a hand stretched out to others, yet cares nothing for it’s own, homeless, and downtrodden. A nation where people come from all over to be something, but die with being a nobody, and dying with nothing.

Whether it is having a moment of silence, or just thanking a veteran, it is important that we do something. They sacrificed a lot for us, and we need to show our appreciation. Memorial day and Veterans day get confused, Memorial day is honoring veterans who have passed away, Veterans day is to honor ALL veterans. They risked or even lost their lives for us and for our country. We need to show them that what they did for us

Every year, since 1971, Memorial Day has been observed as a national holiday in the United States, in which we honor those who died while protecting our country. To me, Memorial Day is a time where we as a nation, are reminded that all of the freedoms and rights that we take for granted, came at the cost of men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while protecting our country. When Memorial Day befalls its designated date, I am reminded that people fought and died for my freedom and rights. I am reminded that if people didn’t fight for me and for this country, it wouldn’t be the great and prosperous country that it is. Therefore, I take pride in the fact that someone went to war and died to protect my freedoms.

What make me regret is that I did not go to the Veterans Day Ceremony because I had class at 11am on Tuesday. I know that the United State annually celebrate the Veterans Day every November to honor and praise veterans of all service branches for the sacrifices each have made for their country. This year, Rear Admiral John Kirby is the guest of honor and speaker, so I do a little bit more research about him. Rear Admiral John Kirby was grown up in St. Petersburg, Florida. He graduated from the University of South Florida in 1985 in Tampa, Florida, and he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in history.

we take all the spoils of the war they fight and most times choose to deny them the certain thing because of their work in the wars. So overall the importance of veterans day is to remember the people that have lost their lives and others who have lost everything

As we look at the veterans coming out the military today and in the future they’re important. They protect us, what about life without your phones or social media or any rights that let you be you, it’s not impossible, but you wouldn’t like it. However could we have lived without them, without them you probably wouldn’t be here today.

I have never realized how important Veterans Day and why we celebrate Veterans Day. We celebrate Veterans Day on the 11th day, 11th hour and the 11th month. We celebrate it to honor military veterans that served in the United States Armed Forces. I really didn't realize what all the Veterans have done for me and the world now, until and have matured and got older. This saying really relates to what the Veterans have done for us in today's world, “Look how far we have come, and how far we have to go.”

I just wanted to write to express some of my troubled feelings after the Veterans Day assembly. I would like to point out that I think having a Veterans Day assembly is a very good idea so that we as a school can take time to honor and recognize everyone who risked their life to protect our country. I really think Veterans Day is a unique holiday where our country can take time to appreciate everything the veterans have done for our nation. It is also somewhat of a personal day for my family because both of my grandfathers are veterans. That being said, I was very upset and disappointed with the assembly we had at Lick.

Tears begin to rush down my cheeks, even though my great grandfather returned to his family, friends, and future wife after the war, unlike the thousands of soldiers surrounding me. My family has passed down my great grandfather’s uniform, generation by generation, reminding us to serve others, unconditionally. As I walked through the Arlington Cemetery with fellow leaders of the National FFA Organization wearing our blue corduroy jackets, I realized we too are an army.
