Vincent Dreffs is a local entrepreneur whom I met through friend of mine and will be consulting on my restaurant project. He recently left his corporate job of 20+ years to start his own business. Vince is a well-respected figure in the restaurant community, and was an integral piece of the pie when it comes to the Predators being in Nashville. Vince has been in every level of management as well as being an entrepreneur. It was a no-brainer when it came to my choice for the interview.

Teaching – it should happen in all formats and I can sense when someone is genuinely excited to have learned a new skill.

Poor communication and lack of follow up – it is the tell tale of the problems that lay ahead.

What advice would you give someone entering this field of work?
Learn, learn and learn. Begin to keep a rolodex of individuals that details their strengths and exactly what it is they are most knowledgeable about. In the end, you will return to them at some point in your career.

What additional training/education would you like to be involved with in the future?
I have become increasingly interested in running a paperless business; embracing technology to handle the mundane so I can concentrate on the important. As an advocate of good eating, I am also teaching myself how to eliminate processed foods in my diet and still enjoy eating.

Not yet! This is certainly a big opportunity. Just as Americans love all things titled “Euro,” Europeans love “American” just the same.

He basically put a meatball on a stick, his expenses were right around $100,000 and ended profiting over $1,000,000. He is very analytical in his ways of thinking yet has a very creative side for brainstorming. Having both ways of thinking in one brain is something of an anomaly in this current world. I am an idea/creative person and need someone to ground me in the business world and Vince is just the person to do
His reputation of being a hustler, tends to turn others away. The locals picture him a slouch and a looser. Nevertheless, after engaging him in a game, I found out that is his persona. He has a doctorate in astrophysics, along with several patents in his name.
Part A 1. I will advice Jane and Chris to communicate with the employees and make sure what the reason behind the problem. Also, speak to the employee one on one so they can be more comfortable and talk openly. Communications and keeping the employees informed with the changed that the company undergoes it’s important to gain their trust. I will advice Chris to meet with the employees and ask them if they are satisfied with their job or what can he do to help them.
Russ Carreker grew up playing football and had the opportunity to play collegially at Auburn University. He started to study to become a veterinarian, but that did not work out. He finished school in business and was looking for something that he could start making money from. This was a great example for a new leader coming into a business with employees that have been there for years. It not only helped create a team-like community of employees, but it also gave them the ability to contribute to the new vision of Westlake Lanes. Givens also was able to start meetings with her employees every week to talk about how they are doing, and then end the meeting in a casual game of bowling to increase community in the workplace. Graduating from a highly rated business school Givens knew the importance of keeping track of finances.
