As a matter of fact, according to King Encyclopedia, “King had campaigned actively for Johnson and welcomed the victory saying, ‘the forces of good will and progress have triumphed,’” (Johnson, Lyndon Baines (1908-1973)) Winning the election, LBJ continued to fight for both voting and civil rights. As seen in the documentary produced by HBO, All the Way, once elected LBJ went on to pass the Voting Bill that would have a defined impact on the future of the United States (Roach). By helping one another, they helped each other to reach their goals of expanding civil and voting rights in the United States.

Johnson was distracted from his Great Society/War on Poverty plans by the Vietnam War.. The War on Poverty helped poor to rise to middle-classes and poverty rate decreased. It come up short in fixing structural reform of the economy and employment advantages. One court case example is the Loving v. Virginia.

He tried to become President in 1960 but lost to John F. Kennedy. However, he became vice president for John F. Kennedy. After John F. Kennedy was killed, Lyndon B. Johnson took his place. With previous problems regarding Civil rights, people asked if President Lyndon B. Johnson pass the Civil Rights bill because he wanted the majority vote for the presidential election, or because it was morally right?

He pushed to make all American citizens equal, insured, and healthy. He even started environmental awareness programs for the U.S. Johnson started campaigns to stop water and air pollution. President Johnson also pushed to keep improving the U.S.’s sciences. He pushed NASA to keep exploring and advancing faster

During the 1960’s when Lyndon B Johnson was president the Great Society was successful. One example to prove that the Great Society was successful is written in document C by Joseph A Califano Jr. and he states, “Great Society's food stamp program helps feed more than 20 million men,women, and children in more than 8 million households. Since it was launched in 1967, the school breakfast program has provided a daily breakfast to nearly 100 million schoolchildren.” This quote boldly illustrate how amazing the great society is by providing food for the poor. Another great example of how the great society was successful by Joseph A Califano Jr. states, “The Voting Rights Act of 1965. .

The future of American was being robbed of their education because they simply could not afford it. In the recent years, the price of education had gone up, and president Johnson decided to do all that he could to help the younger generation receive a good education. He paid for textbooks and other supplies for students who couldn 't afford to pay for them. He rewarded students

Johnson believed in the civil rights act of 1964. Using what he had witnessed before he became president he knew the civil rights act needed to be activated. Civil rights were a legal entitlement to the people of the United States which granted everyone: the right to vote, no segregated schools, freedom of press, etc. Why did LBJ sign the civil rights act? Many believed Johnson signed the act because of politics, but in reality he actually signed it because of principle, he witnessed kids who were discriminated against, logic even says LBJ was pushing towards integration just right, he believed in the act from the beginning, only, he wanted the states to have a say.

The Great Society program was made by the president Lyndon B. Johnson in the year of 1965. Since the creation of the program, people are debating that the Great Society Program was good to the country or bad. I think that the Great Society Program was good for the country but it did have some bad things about it.

He never really put much thought into his decisions except for the fact of was he going to be liked. In conclusion, The Civil Rights Act was signed through politics and he did win the election of 1964. America did benefit greatly from the new laws creating equal opportunity for all who lived there. In his new term, Johnson created the Great Society which allowed many unprivileged children have equal footing for school.
