What Prison Was Alcatraz Prison

The prison is a great big deal to the city of yuma. it benefits to the local economy and population and giving its site other uses the city can throw at it. It help create a city in the hottest and once isolated places in arizona. Without the territorial prison there would not being a great increase in population, the city would have had little economic value and wouldnt called yuma high, criminals.

I think these prisoners were strong in their beliefs and should not be punished because everyone should have their freedom of speech and should have been able to believe in what they believe is right. Instead of trying to just beat down all the prisoners the superintendent wanted to guide them into a better life. They even got taught to read and write and speak spanish and german. The prison would also let the prisoners make things which they could sell once a month and any money they made would be kept in the prison until they were let out and given to them to let them have kind of a fresh start. They really just wanted to give the prisoners get hope and get better.

The Yuma Territorial Prison opened in 1875, but the first prisoners were not moved to the prison, in till 1876. Over three thousand prisoners sentences were served during the thirty three years the prison was operational. Yuma Territorial Prison was perceived throughout its many different roles as a luxury for the community of Yuma, Arizona. The community of Yuma,Arizona might think this because of the many benefits the prison gave the inmates and the town people .The prison also played many different roles other than just being a prison.

This violent escape attempt led to the death of two correctional officers and three inmates. They had also claimed it as a federal penitentiary. It was later on labeled “The Battle Of Alcatraz”, even though there were multiple battles in Alcatraz. They more than likely just labeled it that because it was the most vicious and violent battle.

Alcatraz Island Federal Prison I think that Alcatraz had a lot of cool history and isn’t really thought of being very nice but it was actually a well maintained prison until it closed. Alcatraz Island was one of the biggest and most expensive federal prison. They had to take the military prison and put solitary confinement cells, used tempered steel for the bars, made 6 guard towers, and the cells were 5x9 foot cells.

There is a lot of Mexican Gangs is in United States prisons. For example Mexican Mafia, Latin Kings, Hermanos de Pistoleros Latinos, Partido Revolucionario Mexicano, Raza Unida etc… The Mexican Mafia is the top #1 Mexican Prison Gang, it started in the streets in california and escalated to the prisons.
