Who Is Martin Luther King Jr A Hero

As a peacemaker and an outspoken leader, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. has done a lot to end segregation in the United States of America. His own imagination filled with millions of hopes that one day everyone can learn to accept one another put him in very difficult situations in which he was not afraid. In 1963, Dr. King wrote a letter from the Birmingham Jail to a clergymen that freedom has to be given to everyone no matter what race they were. Dr. King fought for the rights of African Americans because they were separated from doing all the things that the Whites were able to do. He decided to take a step and fight for everyone.

Dr.Martin Luther king Jr was a Baptist minister and social activist. He led the civil rights movement and he used non violent protests to get the freedom that other blacks and himself deserved. Martin Luther King Jr. delivered this speech in a time of great civil unrest and the increasing of racial tensions. He showed many outstanding qualities ,perseverance,organizational ideas,dignity and respect. He was influenced by the idea of refusing to cooperate with an evil and unequal system.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was a civil rights activist that exemplified the idea that not backing down on one’s opinion can make for a strong leader with many followers supporting him or her. Dr. King was able to stand up and give speeches in front of large crowds, preaching his truths and views on segregation. He was certainly not one to cower from publicly protesting the wrongs that were being done to coloreds in America, especially in the south. King never changed his views because he stood strong with those that supported times of change through boycotts and sit-ins that prolonged for years. He was such a strong leader of protest that he was able to gain the support from President John F. Kennedy in his push for desegregation.

Martin Luther King Jr. as the leader of the black, heroically and wisely led them against racial discrimination risking his own life. He states, The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy -Martin Luther King Jr. His words tell us that in a time where discrimination was everywhere he stood up when people needed him the most, as a hero, showing his own heroic courageousness. Many people describe Martin Luther King Jr. as “One of the most lauded African-American leaders in history” (Biography.com).

Martin Luther King was one of the greatest leaders that fought for the rights of African Americans across the country. MLK was an amazing speaker and writer. He wrote a speech called the “I Have A Dream” speech. He presented this to the African Americans across the country pushing them to help with the fight against segregation. Also, King was arrested for protesting racial segregation.

He was a man that persuaded people worldwide to follow him during the Civil Rights Movement. King was a very passionate, caring man. A great leader that pushed and motivated blacks to achieve equal rights for all.

Martin Luther King. King argues for integration and loving one’s enemy. His vision is not to harm the oppressors, but to love and pray for them. His goal is to get African-Americans to forgive white people who have brutalized them. Furthermore, King is a dominant figure who believes in non-violent resistance.

He promoted peace and achieved equal rights for African Americans. He never burned an American flag, he respected the flag. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. believed that his followers should also respect the flag. He marched peacefully, he never started a riot. He received more attention than the riots are causing around the country.

He also encouraged others to speak out about racism and equality. Martin Luther King Jr help shape the United States to what it is today. I think Martin Luther King Jr. is mixed with two hero archetypes: one being a perfect hero and the other one being a misfit. He is a perfect hero because because he has good morals.

In he letter, King states that “Nonviolent direct action seeks to create such a crisis and establish such creative tension that a community that has constantly refused to negotiate is forced to confront the issue” (4). Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. explains that nonviolent protests bring focus upon the issue at hand and are hard to be ignored because so much tension is created. To affect his audience, King uses personal anecdotes to appeal to the emotions of the audience and to get them to agree that “only light can drive out darkness” (King). King added that “But when you have seen vicious mobs lynch your mothers and fathers at will and drown your sisters and brothers at whim; when you have seen hate-filled policemen curse, kick, brutalize and even kill your black brothers and sisters with impunity; when you see the vast majority of your twenty million Negro brothers smother-ing in an airtight cage of poverty in the midst of an affluent society….

Martin Luther King Jr. as we know him today is the person who led the American civil rights movement. He is considered a hero by most people and he is the author of one of the most famous speeches in history, the “I Have a Dream” speech. Martin Luther King Jr. is known for his advocacy for nonviolent protests and civil disobedience in the face of injustice. Not only did he condone nonviolence in the face of police brutality, but he also worked to bring justice to black Americans every day until his assassination in Tennessee. For his dedication to justice he is a house hold name around the world today and at 35, he was the youngest man to receive a Nobel Peace Prize.

Martin Luther King Jr is the most iconic civil rights leader in history. If anyone is unsure of his significance, they could simply take a trip to Washington, D.C to view his magnificent monument. Dr. King in the 1950s and 1960s, led protests and spoke on numerous occasions about injustice and segregation within the African American community. Although he had many Anti- Racism protest, his most legendary took place in Birmingham, Alabama. While in Birmingham, Dr. King was arrested which led to him writing a detailed letter to the city clerk.

Over the next decade, Dr. King became a key figure in the Civil Rights Movement. He preached nonviolence and civil disobedience, and he was able to mobilize millions of people around the country to join his cause. He organized marches, sit-ins, and other nonviolent protests to demand equal rights for all Americans. One of Dr. King's most memorable moments was his "I Have a Dream" speech, which he delivered in 1963 during the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom. This speech is considered one of the greatest speeches in American history and has become a defining moment in the Civil Rights

We should not just take Dr. King’s work for granted, but rather be grateful that he did what he did. I know that I personally am very thankful for him because I have many friends who are colored and would be treated differently today if he didn’t step into action. Without him, our world would be a very different place. Martin Luther King showed us that violence is not the answer. The truth is, he is exactly right.
