Sandra Bland died from the injuries she sustained during the traffic stop beating. On the video, Sandra claimed she suffered from epilepsy,a neurological disorder, while being held down on the pavement. It was possible that Sandra received some brain damage after the assault, resulting in a seizure. This seizure, when left untreated, will result in death. In short, the Police department will and should be held responsible for Sandra 's death. No matter how she died that officer was directly responsible for her death. He exacerbated the situation in the video for reasons unknown, we don 't know what his mental state was at that
Melvin Santiago of the Jersey City Jersey Police Department was not simply shot in the line of duty, he was viciously ambushed by a man determined be a cop killer and, possibly, to commit suicide by cop (Kulbarsh, 2015). The attacker, Lawrence Campbell, age 27, assaulted an armed security guard inside the Walgreens pharmacy, took the guards pistol, told witnesses he was going to be famous (New Jersey police officer shot, 2014). Campbell waited in the parking lot for the first cruiser to arrive and opened fire on officer Santiago as he stepped out of his vehicle. Thirteen shots were fired, and Santiago was struck in the head. As the shooting was happening, other officers arrived and began firing at Campbell from their vehicles.

As police officers approached Garner he raised both hands in the air and told the officers not to touch him. Moments later, a video recording shows an officer grabbing the 350-pound man from behind in a choke hold and wrestled him to the ground, rolling him onto his stomach. CNN News also reports that the video has Eric crying repeatedly that he could not breathe until his last gasp. Evidence and Applicable Laws Julie Bolcer, a representative of the NY medical examiner 's office confirmed that the cause of death was "compression of neck (choke hold), compression of chest and prone positioning during physical restraint by police.

The article I read about written by Wendy Gillis was about a police officer using excessive force against someone who seemed to have put a major threat towards the officer and resulted in a death. The shooting happened July 27, 2013 and ended the life of Sammy Yatim. A short summary of what happened was that Yatim pulled out a knife and was waving it around on the TTC, he told everyone to exit the bus and he put no one in harm. James Forcillo and his partner were the first to arrive at the scene and don’t Yatim multiple times to “drop the knife”.
The Sandra Bland case truly has me disgusted and heartbroken, if you seen the video you know what I am talking about, its so hard to watch... Every time I 'm stopped by a cop I 'm immediately scared because #1 I am young African-American male and #2 I still have my South Carolina state drivers license and I now live in a different state... No one should ever have to feel this way I pray every time I get pulled over and call my oldest sister Timeka Kimberly Wilson-King.... GOD please watch over my people cause we constantly being targeted for the COLOR OF OUR SKIN... #SandraBland

The white officer claims self-defense and was not wearing a body camera. Would we know more if the officer was wearing the camera? Maybe not. Last year in Albuquerque (one of the cities that has all officers equipped), the U.S. Department of Justice took a look at the use of body cams after a report of excessive force was filed and no video of the incident was produced. The DOJ found that the officers were wearing the body cams but were not turning them on.
Over the past couple of years’ police brutality has played a great whole in the arrest of African Americans and Caucasian officers. Many people may have heard about the unfortunate findings that police have killed many unarmed individuals such as: Michael Brown Jr., Alton Sterling, and Philando Castile; additionally, there is one case where a young lady was found deceased three days after she was arrested. The difference between all of these cases is that this young lady, Sandra Bland, death was eventually ruled a suicide. Ultimately, there still remains questions to why Blands simple traffic violation ever turned into a confrontation. Bland had just moved to Texas in order to get a fresh start on life, she even had a job lined up for herself.
62 seconds later Philando Castile was shot dead by 7 rounds from Officer Jeronimo Yanez’s gun. It sparked the media’s attention due to the video that came along with the fatal death of the black male. His girlfriend, Ms. Reynolds, shared the video to gain publicity to help put the police officer on the stand. A few days ago, Jeronimo Yanez was charged with manslaughter and different weapon charges that
If I was in Taylor’s position I would defiantly report the real story. I would report that officer Ansley used excessive force on the individual. The individual was put in the hospital with multiple fractures to his skull, by the hands of a “Supposedly” well trained officer. What if it was my child, mother, or someone I personally knew. I would have told Lt.

By reading this you will be informed that etiquette police training and use of body cameras will majorly improve law enforcement incidents. But first we must get to know one of the many victims of police brutality Jessica Hernandez. Jessica Hernandez was a 17 year old hispanic teenager who was fatally shot by Denver police officers Daniel Greene and Gabriel Jordan. She was shot four times and two of those bullets went through the left side of her chest causing her death ( Gurman, 2015 ). Honestly four times is an excessive amount of times to shoot at someone.
