Welcome to the jungle! As the last note of Slash’s electric guitar rang out, Guns N’ Roses finish just one last song. How did they get so good? Well, Guns N Roses was known as the world’s most dangerous band, and it was a reputation well deserved because reckless behavior and drug and alcohol both contributed to what made Guns N’ Roses succeed and fail. Guns N’ Roses’ early career was strange, like any other rock n’ roll band. Guns N’Roses was a band that took a very short time to get together. There were many members involved when they first came together. They lost Tracii Guns who played guitar and Ole Beich who played bass. They gained Axl Rose, Izzy Stradlin, Duff McKagan, and Steven Adler (Phillips & Cogan, 2009).
Guns N’ Roses’ inspiration came from the deep, dark, and mysterious parts of Los Angeles. Their music was a mix of New York Dolls, Ramones, and The Rolling Stones. Welcome to the Jungle is the opening song on their first album. This song was inspired by a homeless man yelling at Axl. (Smith, 1987).

In 1985 the band played on the L.A. Sunset Strip. This was when the early fans were won over, and this lead to a record deal with Geffen Records. They then recorded their first EP, Live Like a Suicide, and then, their first full album, Appetite for Destruction (Phillips & Cogan, 2009). Guns N’ Roses sold many albums that went big. They produced a total of 8 albums all together. Videos for “Welcome to the Jungle,” “Sweet Child O’ Mine,” and “Paradise City” were played a lot on MTV. This helped sell millions of records. Rush is a rock group made up of three members who reached the height of their careers in the early 1970’s when rock and roll was a nation wide trend. The group formed in 1968 in Toronto, Canada by Alex Lifeson and his two classmates, John Rusty and Jeff Jones. Unfortunately, Geddy Lee replaced Jeff Jones in lead vocals and Neil Peart replaced John Rusty as the lead drummer in the same year of their formation. The music styles Rush produces in their albums varies from progressive rock, modern rock, and synthesizer rock. In 1968 band members moved from Calgary to Toronto, shedding their western garb. The doors to the world stage would soon open. By year's end changes in personnel resulted in The Stampeders becoming a well - honed trio of rockers. The same three musicians, the winning formula of Rich, Ronnie, and Kim would soon make rock & roll history by being one of the first Canadian bands to break onto the international
The Beastie Boys. Need I say more? When most think of the rambunctious rap group from that came straight out of the 1980’s, they think about girls, partying, crude humor and maybe some music in between. Although The Beastie Boys as a group did a few things that had never been done before in music history. Thats pretty incredible considering nobody expected something so revolutionary to come from three middle class white jewish kids from New York.
Alabama had lots of interesting player through the years. Owens very popular with the audience as he charms them and also tells them jokes. The Audience still loves him the same as 30 years ago when Alabama started. Randy Owen is the main voice of Alabama. (Freeland, 2004) When he goes on stage he dazzles lots of fans and they cheer this country guy.
The band started out of thin air because Johnny brought up the idea to Harry, and he was all for it. They found a drummer named Richie and then got a quiet kid named Dave to play the bass. But eventually, Dave randomly decided to ghost his friends because the pressure of going on tour was too much for him. Then they held tryouts for a new bass guitarist, and that’s how they found Cheyenne. Right after finding her, they started booking gigs from all over town and then started booking concerts all over the east coast.
It was released on December 16th, 2008, and was the fourth studio album. Many fans thought it was just too out there. The band’s hopes were to make the album unique and memorable, and they succeeded, but not in a good way. There were so many extra things happening, that the actual melody was washed out, and the album only sold 149,000 copies on the first week of sales. This isn’t bad, but much less than the previous album, Infinity on High.
Usually bands are a group of members who get along, but that was the problem, for the Eagles that was rare. They constantly fought, people left, they took too long making albums, but they produced some of the best music in the rock and roll history. They got many awards and had thousands of fans who loved them for their music, worldwide. The Eagles have a big impact on rock and roll music. The Eagles started their performing career in high school, where they started earning many achievements including getting inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Not only did it become one of the most successful albums of all time, it featured a mix of pop, rock, and R&B songs, with Jackson’s signature dancing style, and an epic ground-breaking music video featuring horror movie-style effects. The reason I also choice this as an artifact is because during this time MTV wasn’t showing videos from Black artists (even though it was called Music Television)! The channel at was catering to the white, young to middle aged male demographic. For a long time, I Also believed there was some segregation in this situation because the huge audience & viewership that wasn’t being cared for. However, when the album revolutionized the music industry, and was a major influence on the development of pop music, there were discussions for show more videos from black artists on the

After releasing his first album, and following The Who at a concert, Jimi released his first two albums. Aerosmith “Life is a journey, not a destination” said the band Aerosmith. Aerosmith had their share of ups and downs throughout their journey. From drug addiction to alcohol abuse to personal problems, they have been through it all. Aerosmith was a different type of rock and roll band because they brought blues music into rock, they won four Grammy Awards, and were inducted into the Boston Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, making them one of the best rock bands of their era. Aerosmith’s band members Brad Whitford, Joe Perry, and Steven Tyler became interested in music at a young age and had many influences.
The audience ranged over four generations. For a band to begin forming by 1965 and performing by 1970, their music can punctuate and electrify the generation of today. By understanding the origin of Lynyrd Skynyrd, an individual could feel how this Southern Rock band injected sorrow, joy, and sometimes confusion in their electric jams. They loved their guitars. This group was not a Confederate flag-waving, redneck band.
He also brought The Beatles into considering the psychedelia and folk side of music. Many of the first songs The Beatles created were directly influenced by Buddy Holly with slight influences from Roy Orbison. They wanted to create a similar sound to Holly with their own spin on the genre. Paul McCartney’s songwriting was created to emulate the technique of Brian Wilson of The Beach Boys.
