William Shakespeare was an English playwright, poet, and an actor. He is famously known by the title of “England’s national poet” and the “Bard of Avon”. Shakespeare’s plays are important to today’s modern culture, and majorly impacted the late 1500’s and early 1600’s. Although there’s a relatively substantial amount of evidence that he is the author of his 37 plays, his authorship was questioned for a long time, beginning in the 18th century. Claims were made according to the Shakespeare Conspiracy Theory, that the main contenders for the authorship are Francis Bacon and Edward de Vere.

William Shakespeare, don't we all know the name? What you might not know is all the things he has done. He wrote plays that we all loves like, “Romeo and Juliet”, “Hamlet” and many more, some of which I will talk about. Shakespeare was born to John Shakespeare, a glover and leather merchant, and Mary Arden, a landed local heiress. He was one of 8 children, 2 of them died.

In one of his plays, William Shakespeare wisely said “We know what we are, but know not what we may be.” As a boy born into a humble family, William knew his status, and that respect and wealth were not entitled to him. If he wanted to become well-known for his writing, he must diligently work his way to the top. Against all odds, Shakespeare slowly built a name for himself through his writing. Although there are many acknowledged unknowns of Shakespeare’s life, these uncertainties have not hindered the extreme popularity of his plays.

The author any and everyone knows and also the inventor of the first “knock knock joke”, William Shakespeare was born sometime in April of 1564 and died April 23, 1616. Since the day he was born Shakespeare was special even in today’s modern time is special, but there is also no doubt that he is an unusual character, it even shows in his work. His life is like one huge mystery from his early life, sex life, married life/children, even drugs he used. “One thing that goes without question though, “is that he affected the modern culture we live in now.”

Bill Bryson was able to dig deep into Shakespeare’s life through acquiring records, accounts, and using logical speculation and concluded that Shakespeare had quite the interesting and adventurous life, starting in a grammar school and then moving on to theatre arts, travelling through cities and performing in different places, experiencing different things such as; different religions, different ethnic groups of people, his personal life and experiences, politics, and even social norms. William Shakespeare was a 15th century play writer, who was influential and relevant to his time period and for many years since, to the modern era. However, there is a strong argument to be made that his antiquated form of our language is no longer appropriate in the twenty-first century; his language is out-dated, whilst many of the themes are timeless, other aspects of his plays are old-fashioned and his reputation now exceeds his relevance. Shakespeare simply is not as important for this generation, or for any to come. Shakespeare lived nearly 500 years ago, and this is reflected in his writing. He worked with (and created) words that are no longer used, and talks about things that aren’t necessarily relevant to our time.

William Shakespeare was a poetic, creative man, who lived in the early modern times. Some of the facts of the early modern times that he lived in was that he wrote Julius Caesar. Men took the roll of the female parts of the play that were performed. And he lived in the time of when Queen Elizabeth was around. His life was mainly about himself for example, he never stumbled on to joining college because he wanted to keep on writing plays and poems.

Believed to be born on April 23rd of 1564, Shakespeare was the third of eight children of his parents, Mary Arden and John Shakespeare, who resided in Stratford-upon-Avon, England. Akin to any male during the Elizabethan era, his education began at the age of 4, where he attended petty school, after which he transitioned to the more rigorous teaching at the Stratford grammar school. However, financial issues deriving from his family’s lower-class status soon forced Shakespeare to discontinue his education at the age of 15. Much of his personal interactions remain a mystery after this turning point

Although William Shakespeare was appreciated as a distinguished playwright and poet during his lifetime, it was not until the 19th century that the name of William Shakespeare received the status he holds now. The commencement of the 20th century marked an era of Shakespeare’s plays being excessively adapted, and altered to different mediums of performing arts, studied, rediscovered and translated into many languages all over the world. Shakespeare remains the only writer whose every line has been profoundly studied and interpreted by historians, scholars and students. The everlasting works of William Shakespeare have truly left a deep and lasting effect on world literature, theatre and cinema. Sadly, William Shakespeare died on May 3rd, 1616.
