Abortion is not only a fluctuating concept in our society, but an ethical and emotional debate, as well. The image I have chosen presents concepts from a cultural and historical background, as well as presents an ethical, emotional, and logical appeal to the audience. The debate about abortion has simply been overblown and exhausted. The truth of the matter is, abortion is murder. Ending a life, whether innocent or guilty, is murder. In this day and age, our society is bombarded with many different stigmas and values. When these values are double-crossed, it is hard to run away from the shunning of society. In the case of abortion, that is not such a bad thing. About 78.4% of the United States practices Christianity, and 23.9% of those Christians …show more content…
Everyone is entitled to a panel and to express their opinion. In the cases of abortion, the fetus does not have a voice, this image supports the fact that fetuses do havea right to be born and to a chance at life. The image itself does not specifically say that abortion is wrong, it just brings an ethical and emotional appeal to the audience. The audience for this image spans to those who are contemplating abortion, are against abortion, who study and are advocates for the law and protection of human rights, those who do not know whether to support abortion or not, and it can also reach out to those who have had an abortion. The design would appeal to all of those forms of an audience. Specifically, those who are contemplating having an abortion. The design I used was meant to be dark, but in the same way dirty. I used brown and red to emphasize the concept of “murder” and dirty. The emotion I hope to bring to those who have had an abortion, or those who are contemplating abortion is a feeling of disgust and uncleanliness. The feeling of ending ones life should not bring positive emotions or cleansed feelings. So I used the brown to excentuate those emotions. The red makes the concept of murder pop out and goes well with the image and comic strip itself. I do not believe that it violates any conventions but it does carry an appeal to the audience using ethos and
Rhetorical Analysis of “When Abortion Suddenly Stopped Making Sense” Imagine being presented with an unplanned child and you are analyzing the options; people all around you are screaming one of two choices. Those options are to keep the baby- your own flesh and blood- or get an abortion, both of which promote arguments within this country. Because of this controversial topic, people have been categorized into “pro life” and “pro choice” groups who support completely opposite values. In “When Abortion Suddenly Stopped Making Sense”, written and published in January 2016 in The National Review, Frederica Mathewes-Green successfully persuades citizens advocating for or against abortion about why she changed her perspective by utilizing personal
Charlotte Taft once said “Women who have abortions do so because they value life and because they take very seriously the responsibilities that come not just with birth, but with nurturing a human being”. The Editorial Board at The New York Times believes in this statement as well. The Editorial Board published an editorial on June 27, 2016 titled “A major Victory for Abortion Rights”. The article published, is about a change in Texas 's anti-abortion law and is intended for woman who can or will bear children. The editorial was created to persuade these women that if another woman who is pregnant and cannot keep the unborn child or does not want to keep the child, that these women should have the right to abort the embryo or fetus legally.
The sculpture depicts a woman weeping in front of a child made of glass as the child reaches out to comfort her. The artist, Martin Hudáčekart explains in an interview with the Catholic News Agency that “the piece is meant to show God can forgive the women who have gotten abortions… [and] this will help the women who are struggling with the pain of their abortions to forgive themselves” (Hudacek). This art piece could accurately represent the anti-abortion sentiments felt around the world and can explain the strong opposition to organizations such as Planned Parenthood which provide abortion services. Despite the arguments of religious organizations, conservatives, and individuals in America who wish to defund Planned Parenthood based upon its abortion services, there is no substantial or convincing evidence to do so.
Colors can represent many different things. Artists utilizes colors in their artwork when they want you to portray a certain emotion or see what they are trying to express. For example, when an artist is trying to convey sadness they will often use dull colors like black or gray. When an artist is trying to express happiness they will use bright colors. In the novel The Road, Cormac McCarthy uses colors to describe various scenarios and for symbolism.
The picture has a worn-out feel to it and is also presented in black and white. This gives it the feeling of being a memory. This image helps reach its audience by making you think about your ethical views. This PSA attempts to deter people from
Some women disagree with the idea, while others agree. Some religions believe it is a sin to have an abortion. Abortion
Her well-developed and valid premise holds value and presents a strongly reasoned argument, backed by extensive research she conducted. Premises and Rationales Tanya Luhrmann upholds her evidence behind every premise regarding abortions, the unfair treatment of the fetus, and “Pro-Life” beliefs. She explains that, “...the issue that provokes such anger surrounds the fetus’s right to life--its status as a potential human being” (Luhrmann, 1979, p. 1). Luhrmann addresses the importance of legalizing and creating safe procedures during abortions
In this speech I hope to present a persuasive moral argument that abortion is akin to murder and should be avoided, even if the child is unplanned or unwanted or the women would be in danger by the consequences of abortion. (Transition: Let’s look more closely at the health risks posed by cell phones.) Body I. Abortion is a murder. It is the intentionally killing of a human being and it is also can be considered as a war on the unborn which are obviously defenseless and voiceless. A. Abortion denies the right of the eternal being to have a mortal experience and also learning experience in this world.
Abortion World wide Abortion has been a controversial issue. Whenever the topic of abortion is brought up their are mixed emotions, from all types of people, all over the world. People pro-life think even if abortion was made easy or painless for everyone, it wouldn’t change the bottom line problem, that abortion kills children. Meanwhile people pro-choice think being pro choice is trusting the right decision for herself and her family, and not entrusting that decision to anyone wearing the authority of government in any regard. Who is right though?

Abortion is a very sensitive issue. Many people are constantly debating whether or not abortion should be allowed or not. Some people think abortion is very bad and that it should not be allowed at all. They think abortion is like committing murder as it is killing the human fetus. Others feel that the parents should have the right to choose and it is not murder until the baby is born.
Abortion Abortion is the ending of pregnancy by abolishing a fetus or embryo before it can survive outside the uterus. Abortion is a very controversial topic, for example, one side of this topic believes abortion is cruel and committing murder, while the other side believes that since the fetus or embryo isn 't developed enough to be considered a living human being yet, that abortion is not commiting murder. Despite this information, there is a lot more to abortion than the opinion of it being “right” or “wrong”. According to “Students for life” who are pro life, about 1 million abortions are executed each year in the US. That data adds up to 22% of pregnancies ending in abortion.
The conflict over abortion in America has been a major social problem in our nation for decades. During the 1960 's and 70 's with the coinciding civil rights movement and women’s rights movement, abortion became the new national issue that we still see today between two opposing ideologies, grouped into sides coined as pro-life and pro-choice. It is one of the biggest debates over whose morals and beliefs are adequate for our society that make the abortion issue such a controversial and divisive one. Each side believes that their views and beliefs are what we are a society should follow and belief.
One of the furthermost essential issues in biomedical ethics is the controversy around abortion. There’s a long history on this controversy and it is still critically debated among researchers and the public in both terms of morality and legality. Some of the basic questions argued that may perhaps characterize the importance of the issue: Is abortion morally justifiable? Does the foetus/embryo/zygote have any moral and legal rights? Is the foetus a human being and, if so, should it be protected?
