In the controversial court case, the murder of JonBenet Ramsey, many believe the family happens to be the killers; however, the court show take their focus away from the Ramsey family. The neighbors said the Ramsey’s spoiled their children and raised them the best they could, but others say different. The majority of the people that know about this case have their minds set on the parents being the murderers, but there is other evidence that could steer law enforcement away from the family. While searching the house, Ramsey and White went into the basement, and after looking around, John Ramsey opened the door to, what was later identified as the wine cellar, and turned on the light. At that time John Ramsey found the body of JonBenet on the floor. Instead of calling out to the police, who were in the house, John Ramsey removed the white blanket, which had been covering the body, and carried JonBenet’s body up to the living room and placed her on the floor (Saferstein, 2011). This action alone, contaminated the crime scene, and may have possibly damaged or caused valuable evidence to be lost. When the body of JonBenet was found, her mouth and neck were bound with duct tape, and she had been strangled with a garrote (Denver Post, 1999).

Also, the handwriting was found to definitely not be his. As for the raping the object that was used was said to be very small; like the size of the end of a paintbrush (which was never found). It was found that there was a large list of things that were odd and suspicious to the case. First, the ransom note was written with a pen on paper that were both found inside the Ramsey home office and it included spelling errors that looked staged to be as if a foreigner who did not speak English wrote it. Moreover, when rewriting the note, it took approximately 21 and a half minutes to replicate, which seems odd that someone could spend that much time in their home without being noticed and without the fear of being caught. The 911 call made by Patsy Ramsey did not match the statements made by the family. Technology was used to enhance the 911 call received, which found troubling statements made by the Ramseys, including John saying “we are not talking to you” and Patsy replying with “what did you do?

The initial investigation was extensive, however, the killer was not found. Today, the world still doesn’t know who had killed Jonbenét Ramsey or why. People have speculated whether an intruder had killed Jonbenét Ramsey, or someone within the family. December 26, 1996, Boulder Colorado, the day after Christmas, six-year JonBenet Ramsey is found dead in her basement with a three-page handwritten ransom note demanding $118,000, from someone claiming they kidnapped JonBenet and they would receive a call the next morning at at 10am, the note was addressed to John Ramsey and asked for the exact amount of John's Christmas bonus that year (Casarez). She died of a skull fracture and strangulation and nobody knows who killed her; her mom parents, John and Patricia Ramsey, were under much suspicion for her murder and to some people still are today. JonBenet had a big brother named Burke, and he’s one of the most suspected people; he was only 9 years old at the time of her death so it’s very unlikely he killed his little sister. Burke stayed quiet about her death for a long time but 20 years later in 2016 he spoke for the first time to CBS.

The police investigating the crime said that the way the body was placed seemed like a cover-up for the crime, but could have also been moved by the father who found and picked her up, and that the ransom note was staged by Patsy Ramsey. In 2002 the DA reinvestigated the case, this time they looked at people that were not related to JonBenet as suspects. In 2008 the DA sent out an apology letter to the ramseys declaring that the family was completely cleared from the crime, and in February 2009 the Boulder Police reopened the investigation. The only people that knew about that room were the Ramsey family. Along with this, John Ramsey, the father, was the one to find the body, right after the police searched the house for hours. The police never knew this room existed until after John found the body. Burke was also said to have a big history of anger issues. More examination led to finding stun gun marks and Burke’s DNA on JonBenet’s body.

Who Killed JonBenet? I believe the murder was committed by a fatal blow to the head. I think it was a fatal blow and she was strangled. I also believe that it was an accident by Burke Ramsey, I believe he got angry and hit JonBenet over the head with a flashlight. They examined the body and a piece of skull was missing from the top of her head, and a flashlight fit exactly in that space.

Police were called the following morning to report that their daughter had gone missing. Police found a ransom note demanding 118,000 dollars, this never came to a complete investigation. Later that afternoon Ramsey's body had been found under a blanket in the basement. The detectives didn't do such a good job with continuing this case. There are multiple theories to this case.

She dialed 911 immediately. When police arrived, they found no evidence of forced entry and no JonBenet. Hours later police asked Mr.Ramsey to search the house. That is when Jhon Ramsey found his daughter dead in a room in the basement.     Twenty years later the case of JonBenet Ramsey is still unsloved.

John Ramsey never liked the fact that she got entered into beauty pageants. JonBenet’s body, found with signs that show sexual assault, shows the possibility that her father took her into the basement, sexually assaulted her, and then killed her. Then he’d have left the ransom note to draw attention away from. Most of the evidence points directly to him for only the family had known they had a basement where JonBenet died. John Ramsey told the cops that he didn’t hear anything that night.

One of very first mistakes the Department made was that they did not search the house very thoroughly, nor did put the house on secure the home and the evidence within the home after the first arrived on the sense. The Police department should have made sure that nobody enter the home, nor left the Ramsey home, before they had the opportunity to search it, and question everyone in the home at the time of the event. With no doubt if the police would have searched the house when they first arrived on the sense, they would have found JonBenet in the cellar of the basement in the Ramsey home wrapped in a blanket. Allowing John Ramsey and a close friend to search the house for missing house hold items, and that allowed him to find his deceased daughter. The Bounder Police Department also allowed family and friends to enter the home,

Earlier that morning patsy had found a ransom note on the stairs. Which had police thinking there was an intruder who killed Jon. They also found a broken window that was halfway open and a briefcase which was going to be used to carry Jon's body.
