And Then There Were None is a well known novel written by the amazing Agatha Christie it was later made into the film 10 Little Indians. Differences between these two works include character names and crimes, setting, the ending. In the movie seven of the ten guests on the island had different names. Anthony Marston was renamed as Mike Raven; Justice Wargrave was changed to Arthur Canon; General Macarthur was called General ManDrake; Mister and misses Rogers name change was mister and misses Groman; Vera Claythorn was referred to as Anne Clyde; Emily Brent did not exist and was replaced by a character by the name of Ilona Bergen. Another change was a few of the crimes. Philip Lombard 's crime was originally that he killed a tribe, but was changed to him killing the woman that was carrying his baby out of wedlock; Vera Claythorne/ Anne Clyde crime was changed from letting a young boy drown to murdering her sister 's fiance; Emily Brent/ Ilona Burgen 's was, in the book, shaming her maid into suicide and was, in the movie, killing her husband; General Macarthur/ General Mandrake had a small change it was first him putting his wife 's lover to the front lines of battle to him sending multiple men to the front lines of …show more content…
The setting was complete opposite. In And Then There Were None the setting was a wet island right off the shore. In 10 Little Indians it was set in a snowy place. This difference causes the reason for nobody coming to help different. In the book it was two rainy for a boat to pull up to the island, while in the movie it was too cold and
My character, Richard Perry, changed throughout this book from the beginning to end exceptionally. In the starting point of the book, Richard joined the war in Vietnam because his depressed mother couldn’t afford for him to go to college. While he was stationed in Vietnam, Richard met another soldier named Peewee, he was from Chicago and seemed very daring and determined.
The movie also changed some things in the book like how when Max and Freak left Freak never
For instance, a major difference between the book and the movie is that in the movie, True Son doesn’t have a white brother. Gordon Butler is in the book, but he’s not in the movie. This is a really big difference because Gordon was a big part of True Son’s decision to save the whites. Luckily, the movie creators replaced him with someone else. The new character is Shenandoah, a housemaid that True Son falls in love with.
In the short story the Ravine you will read about Joe-boy and Vinny's differences Vinny has a lot of differences here are some he is single He doesn't want to be at the Ravine because a boy just died there 2 weeks ago he tried to impress his friends by going to the Ravine . Vinny was really scared . Vinny didn’t jump in the pond rate away because he was thinking about the dead boy's body because he doesn't know if the body is down in the water and he would be jumping off a 50 foot ledge. Joe-boy and Starlene seid the stone goddess took the dead boy. Joe-boy doesn't have a lot of differences like vinny but here are a couple of examples.
Moreover, the film introduces a new ending to the storyline. In the book, the main character, Guy Montag, seeks the
he changed her first name to ruth. He also changed John Procter's life to make him more likable as the protagonist by changing the fact that Elizabeth was his third wife not his first as well as that his sons were older 17 and 33, he also had a 15-year-old daughter. These changes helped make the story clearer and
It had more narration so the reader could understand what is happening. Secondly, the movie. The movie was different than the book. It had some parts that were in the book, but it lacked some details.
The last distinction I found was the age of Cindy Lu. In the book, the say that Cindy Lu was no more than two. But in the movie, she looks older than two. Cindy Lu has a bigger role in the movie than the book. I found many differences in the book and movie.
Winnie is living with her grandma and mother in both. She meets Jesse at the tree and watches him drink from the spring. Treegap seems alike in both the movie and book. Mae is nice in both. In both Angus talks to Winnie about how life is like a wheel and his family is stuck in one spot and he wishes his family could get back of the wheel.
Maybe the movie was slightly different from the book, but like I said before, if would be quite boring if they were exactly the
The general plot was of course the same, but there was also how Montag’s opinion of the society changed over the course of the movie. Clarisse’s character was majorly changed throughout the movie compared to the book. This was because she never died in the movie when “"No. The same girl.
There are many simularities and differences in the book and movie " The
I would say Andy, Red and Bogs differed from what I thought they would look like from the book to the movie. I feel these characters might have been changed because of the director's vision for these characters, especially casting Morgan Freeman as Red due to his wise presence and
Such as the fact that Nick never meets Tom and Myrtle’s downstairs neighbors, the McKee’s, directly, how Daisy gave Gatsby his name because he introduced himself as Jay Gatz, and how Myrtle never purchased the dog directly though it is still present in the movie. There is also the fact that Gatsby and Nick are not introduced the same way as they are in the book. In the book Nick is sitting at a table with Jordan and Gatsby and mentions that he hasn’t seen the host. Nick still mentions that in the book, but Gatsby mentions Nick over without Jordan in sight changing that small piece of the storyline. The other minor difference that you pick up in the movie that you do not see throughout the book is that Daisy looks like she knows Gatsby is poor when she meets him, which changes the way their relationship is perceived.
As for example when Sofia Harpo's wife is sent to prison for knocking out the mayor, in the book it is said to have happened the night she comes home with her new man. But in the movie Sofia lives with her family for a couple of weeks in town. Although it doesn’t drastically change the movie itself, but it changes other parts in the movie to where one can notice the out of placement given. Something else that is highly out of place is how in the book the reader is able to learn about Netties life as she writes to Celie, but in the movie we as reader never learn about Netties adult life until Celie finds her letters with Shug. Then later on Nettie comes home with her new family to reunite with Celie after thirty
