1.)Summary- Andrew Jackson was born in 1767 and was considered to be an aristocrat by Tennessee standards though not as educated or cultured. He was enlisted when he was thirteen for the revolution and after losing his family, he received his land in North Carolina. He studied law amongst playing cards and gambling and was admitted to the bar at age twenty. When returning to Tennessee for a visit he found himself a place amongst the new aristocrats, a usual occurrence for the farmer to become upper class. With a bit of an aggressive temperament, when calm he was gentlemanly and graceful.

The strike across had left lasting scars, reminding him of what they did causing him to hate them, In the war of 1812, Andrew Jackson defeated the Creek warriors (who were allies of the British). I think he was a indian hating man that did do some good things for the U.S. He grew hate for the british when they took his mother and made him clean a soldier's boots. In 1824, it is said, that Andrew Jackson wrote a letter that says he was born in a plantation in Lancaster, Carolina owned by his uncle. But Jackson claims that he lived in South Carolinian because the northern state was considering nullifying the Tariff of 1824, which Jackson opposed. In the mid-1850s, some other evidence shows that he might have been born in another relative’s home in North Carolina.

Johnson only had one brother to keep him company, whose name was William Johnson. At the age of three, the Johnsons’ were left fatherless due to an incident at their father’s work. Their father had jumped into a freezing river when a man had fell in.

At the time of the Revolutionary War, Jackson was 13 when he joined the army as a runner. Jackson lost his father before he was born and then lost his mother and two brothers during the war. After the war, Jackson learned how to read books on law, which helped him find a job as a lawyer. Jackson later served in the war of 1828, where he gained the name “Old Hickory,” because of his harsh commands and his capability shown in combat. The victory of the Battle of New Orleans made Jackson a hero to the American people.

Born on March 15, 1767, Andrew Jackson was brought up in a small house on the border of North and South Carolina. Although there is not much said about his younger years, at the age of thirteen Andrew joined the U.S. military, fighting against the British in the Revolutionary War. He was captured by the British but later released due to the pleading of his mother to the British. While in captivity he was once asked to polish the boots of a British soldier. He refused and the soldier drew his sword and went to slash him but Andrew put his hand in the path of the sword and it cut his hand and the side of his face, both cuts left scars which were reminders to him of his hatred of the British.
