TO WHAT EXTENT DOES THE ISSUE OF CONTROL LIE AT THE REALTIONSHIP BETWEEN HUMANS, PLANT AND ANIMAL?

INTRODUCTION
Charles Darwin once said ‘In the long history of humankind (and animal kind too), those who learned to collaborate and improvise most effectively have prevailed’.
It is an inherently established tendency amongst specie of one kind to establish their control over their counterparts. Very often, this control is established through means of force. However, human beings, specie with the most evolved thinking process, have been able to establish this control, not by dominating the natural inhabitants, but through finding a way to coexist with them in the same surroundings. This control of humans, over other species, through co-operative

Over time man has been able to understand plants better, which has strengthened his control over their cultivation. It would however not be correct to say that its only humans who are capable of controlling plants. History has proven the vice versa to be true as well.
Apples, which are well known for their sweetness, were only grown high up in the hills of Kazakhstan (Pollan, 2001, Apples-Sweetness). Humans everywhere else, did make attempts to grow apples by planting the seeds of the sweet apples in places away from their natural habitats. But soon they realised that the new apples did not necessarily have the sweetness of the parent apple. Thus, in order to replicate the traits of the parent apple humans switched to the method of grafting and cross-breeding the sweet apple seeds with the wild varieties in order to get the desirable properties. This gave man the ability to control the sweetness of apple, as he can now decide the traits and the flavour that he wants in
The interesting question scientists raised is, can we relate to them? The answer is ‘yes’. For instance, the genes necessary to tell a plant whether it is light or dark, time cell division, and promote the proper functioning of the immune system are contained within the human genome as well. (Armstrong) “People have to realize that plants are complex organisms that live rich, sensual lives.” (Scientific American) Plants smell, taste, feel pain, have memory, and communicate.
By reducing our use of technology we will be more aware of how our actions affect other species and we can tailor our actions to benefit them rather than harm them. Singer’s statement of every species being considered equally can also extend to plants. While they do not experience suffering, they can be considered our equals to an extent. They are living organisms and do require certain things, like water and sunlight, to be kept alive. This means that we should treat plants with a certain amount of respect such as not cutting them all down or destroying environments for our benefit because plants are living and do benefit us in ways such as keeping animals alive and providing the world with
Alien plants include flowers used only for the purpose of landscaping and plants that hail from other regions that are not from the desert. Humans are the ringmasters of furthering the spread of invasive species. 90% of the cause of tortoise decline is obtained from human activity. Nonnative seeds attach to our vehicles, clothes, and pets. Consequently, the seeds fall on native soil and occupy vacant space, preventing native plants to grow properly.
Most crops grown in the U.S. have been genetically modified and the use of GM seed continues to grow. 93% of soybeans, 94% of cotton and 88 % of corn grown in the U.S. were found to be genetically modified, based on 2012 statistics provided by the FDA. (Millstein 2). Moreover, the United States produces 40% of all GMOs in the world (Wunderlich and Gatto 2). With the United States producing a large majority of GM crops in the world, there is no way that the seeds can be 100% free of genetic modification.
Sarah Harrington Mrs. Rechan English 4 15 February 2022 The Controversy of Service Animals. Many people believe that service animals are the angels of this earth. Yet some people debate, what should and shouldn’t be able to take this angel title? We all know that dogs are the main symbols of supporting animals, yet many people argue, why can't we have other animals as well?
Animals impact the people in our world whether it be our mental health or physical help. Animals who are in the service animal industry help people with their disabilities, illnesses, and physical help needs. Animals help elderly people and children with these needs, of course how they help ranges based on the age of the person. Animals help impact in different ways and throughout different age categories, they help by being service animals, and they help the children of the world and the elderly of the world. Service animals have a job to help everyone with a disability, or an illness, young and old.
Since the beginning of the human existence, man has always dominated and ruled over one another be it empires, corporations, or small groups. Authority and obedience has always been a factor of who we are. This natural occurrence can be seen clearly through the psychological experiments known as The Milgram Experiment and the Stanford Prison Experiment. Both of these studies are based on how human beings react to authority figures and what their obedience is when faced with conflict.
Charlie Balderrama Mrs. DeBruyne CP English 11 3/21/2023 Abuse of the Service Animal title The definition of a service animal is an animal that is individually qualified to do work or perform duties for a person with a disability. Sande Buhai states that the ongoing misuse of federal service animals has produced a backlash against individuals who need such assistance. Part of the matter is that these federal rules constantly lack protection against ways for people to sneak around these government regulations. These laws each hold only one specific job or position for each service animal.
The differences in customs, religion, and basic moral and human ideology prevented the Native American and European cultures from sharing the common bond of human fellowship to serve as the basis and foundation for the growth and betterment of human civilization. Unfortunately, this is a trait seen by the human species that have led to the collective downfall of civilizations throughout time, and will repeat itself until the human perspective of its remarkably fortunate place in the universe is dramatically
Did you know that diabetes service animals can smell a person's breath and blood? This allows them to recognize if their owners blood sugar is too high or too low. This can be a good tool for people whose blood sugar drops very fast. Service animals benefit a person’s life by allowing their owners to have someone around at all times, getting their owners moving, and helping owners with everyday tasks.
Is it fundamentally dangerous to think that humans and wild animals are not so different? Humans are just animals: We establish territories, we need shelter and food, and we even share the ability to use language and tools with many of our fellow creatures. Not to mention, we also tend to see similar emotional expressions in animals. Then again, when you 're face-to-face with a tiger, the differences between human and animal, and predator and prey, become pretty important. In Life of Pi, one theme about boundaries that Martel is always enforcing is the divide between humans and animals, but the relationship between Pi and Richard Parker suggests that there is something more powerful connecting humans and animals; and when the two stories are paralleled the animals give an insight to the other humans that we wouldn’t have otherwise had.
The answer- plants have developed many important behavioural and physiological methods not shared
Animal Rights Some people assume that just because animals cannot speak that they cannot feel pain. It is not okay to torture living beings that have their own thoughts and breathe the exact same air us humans breathe. It is unjust and selfish to stand by and take no action while everyday hundreds if not thousands of innocent animals die without reason. No matter how much fur or how many limbs the creature has; it should be treated as equal as a person. A heart beat is a heartbeat regardless of the body it’s in.
Introduction Plants are a major necessity in the balance of nature, people’s lives, and our terrain. We may not realize it, but plants are the ultimate source of food for almost 95% of the world population so says the National Group of Food. It’s a fact that over 7,000 species of plants are being consumed today. Plants are one of the reasons that we get clean water; as they help regulate the water cycle.
This is because the better trait is produced by engineering genes which results in favoring one organism. Genetically modified organism can interrupt the natural process of the gene flow. A possible issue with the modified crop genes ending up in the soil which can produce new strands that can eventually attack the plant species and producing a new strand. Genes from the GM crops can spread to organic farm crops threating the diversity in agriculture. Due to cross pollination to non-gm plants, new hybrid strains are created.
