Athletes Get Paid Too Much

I personlly think NCAA athletes should get paid, because they put a lot on the line to play college ball. Yea they might get paid in free education but you got to look on the other side how are they to support they self for personal needs like tooth paste, cloths, shoes, soap, and many more. What about the ones that go out of there home state and play. Their family many miles away so they can’t get to much support from them.

College Athletes should get paid because when they don't get paid it pushes them to go to the big leagues and they end up making the mistake of forgetting that they also have education that they have to do. On why they should get paid, the mistakes that athletes are making, colleges taking advantage of college athletes, and there can be bad outcome but there can be good that comes with it. Although college athletes don't get paid right now, they should because then they will be selling things in college that can get them in trouble or fall behind with homework assignments.

I strongly believe NCAA athletes should be paid for their contribution to the NCAA. These athletes are directly responsible for the generation of revenue for the NCAA and the Universities. Head coaches garner up to seven million dollars a year and the top-tier athletes currently receive $5,000. There 's no arguing that the players contribute more to a team than the head coach. If athletes were paid more, the likelihood that more athletes would achieve their four years of eligibility with the NCAA would be higher.

Paying college athletes is something most athletes would enjoy, and most don 't realize how valuable they are to these universities. The NCAA has growing into a multi billion dollar industry. Athletes cannot, however receive any cut from their jersey sales,ticket sales nor the $10.8 billion broadcast deal NCAA just signed. No wonder why there such a big argument going on whether student athletes should get paid. At least they receive something which is an athletic scholarship, that covers their room and board ,tuition and fees, and books.

Should college athletes get paid? People have been asking this question for many years and people still don’t know the answer to it. That are people who are for paying athletes while there’s also a group that are against, some of the people that are for paying athletes are ex-college players and coaches and the people that are against are mostly people that work for the NCAA. Many people have different points of view on rather the athletes should get paid. There is some sport analysis that thinks that college athletes shouldn’t be paid for many reasons, one reason is the fact that the athletes already receive a free scholarship and they believe that covers for all the money they bring in from competitions.

College athletes deserve to be paid because they are the only ones not being paid in the college sports industry. The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) generates eleven billion dollars annually, some of which could, and should go to college athletes. “USA Today reported last year just how much money the top 10 coaches in college football made. Nick Saban from Alabama topped the list earning roughly $5.5 million in 2013 alone” (Seibold). The coaches are making millions of dollars and the players aren’t.

There are a lot of problems with how college athletes are treated and many teachers, students, and coaches are wanting to change that. College athletes shouldn’t get paid, or should they? All of there schooling is paid for. College athletes should not get paid because there schooling is already a lot.

In conclusion, athletes should only be paid enough to support themselves and be able to have some luxuries that they deserve. The reasons they should only be paid that much is because it will save the NCAA a substantial amount opposed to if the athletes were paid if they were 4 Works cited professionals. In my personal opinion, college athletes should be paid due to seeing first-hand the immense amount of dedication the players put into their sport. I believe that by placing their sport above all else, making it a sole factor of their focus, athletes treat their participation in their sport as a full time job. Being required to practice year around taking up most, if not all spare time that they aren’t in class or studying, makes maintaining an outside job or way to make money seems nearly impossible. According to Mark Edelman from Forbes.com, the typical Division I college athlete devotes around 43.3 hours per week to his or her sport and maintaining his or her scholarship. Not only are they spending over 40 hours per week towards these sports related demands, but they are also required to spend around 50 hours per week towards their academics.

The million dollar question; should college athletes be paid? This is an immense debate, but if you were to ask me, I would say yes, college athletes should be paid. There are a plethora of reasons why college athletes should get paid. College athletes should get paid because of the amount of time they put into their sport, the amount of money everyone else is making off of them, and their overall importance to the school. There are a myriad of reasons that people can argue the opposite way, but, the reasons they should get paid definitely outweigh the reasons they shouldn’t get paid.

Have you ever thought why college athletes should get paid? Paying them in college might help them later in life. Paying them will help them save up their money on stuff they need later in life. Paying the athletes will help benefit them and the college and organization. I think college athletes should get paid cause because the college makes money off of them.

Professional athletes are paid millions of dollars to play a game while police officers, firefighters, army soldiers, and even the president are paid significantly less. “It’s not shocking that public servants like teachers and police officers make less than professional athletes”(Figueroa). Compensation shouldn't be about entertainment, it should be about job importance because people are trying to make the world a better and safer place not a more entertaining place.

can all agree with me that they get underpaid compared to athletes. The money that can go towards better causes such as donating to the homeless, donating to charities, helping people, etc goes to people playing a game. Do you think that watching a game is more important than helping people that are in poverty? I didn’t think so. Also, athletes didn’t get paid this much before now,

Professional athletes are extremely overpaid for the “jobs” that they do. They only entertain for a living and get paid millions of dollars per season. Each sport is different in how they pay their athletes, and the difference in salaries from one player to another can be in the tens of millions of dollars. These athletes are paid for jobs that they only do for a certain number of games and do not even play the games over the course of an entire year. In most professional sports, they play in games for only a few months and then have a few months off.

People know that doctors and firefighters save lives, while athletes play a game to make money. Even teachers don’t get paid as much; they educate the generation’s youth so they can make a difference in the future. So many jobs that are very important don’t get paid as much and that money can go towards better causes. But these are only some of the reasons that pro athletes get paid too much.
