In retrospect, when the country first came about Englishmen evaded a land already claimed and ended up removing Africans from their homeland to make slavemen all for the love of money. On numerous accounts this country has had the value of human life decimated by the love of money. Slavery was one of the starts when having blacks work day and night while being held captive just to produce goods that brought wealth to families names. Centuries later this country had little girls work in huge textile mills for the high demands of cotton, silk, and wool to be sold to companies and in foreign affairs. Lastly decades later after this country began recovering from the economic distress of the 1960s, steel companies began to raise their prices without realizing how it would affect the country as a whole. Because steel companies were so driven by money, they didn’t take in account how detrimental this would be to the lives of families, elders, farmers, businessmen, etc. Looking from the outer glass will leave you not knowing the internal affairs within the borders of money hungry
The Life of a Slave Slavery a name known since the beginning of time but I will be focusing on the year of 1619 to 1865. When Africans first arrived at the colonial America and how they got there. They greatly influenced the lives throughout the thirteen colonies. People failed to realize they were humans just like them.

In addition, Banneker uses the Declaration of Independence to stress the importance of freedom and rights for slaves. The Declaration states, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, and that they are endowed by their creators with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.” All people are guaranteed the rights of freedom and happiness when they are born. Benjamin Banneker, in his letter to Thomas Jefferson, offers a series of arguments against the institution of slavery through a respectful tone, references to history, and the Bible. As a son of former slaves, Banneker is seeking justice for the black population and uses Jefferson’s own words against him as he speaks on behalf of “Black America.” He shares his opinions with Jefferson, who is higher authority, in a respectful manner while still managing to criticize him. Banneker starts off his letter to Jefferson by calling his “Sir.” He refers to Jefferson this way because he wants to be respectful to this man who exists as a higher authority as a politician.

Slaves were people who were harshly forced to work against their will and were often deprived of their basic human rights. Forced marriages, child soldiers, and servants were all considered part of enslaved workers. As a consequence to the abolition people found guilty were severely punished by the law.
Many tried to destroy them, but slaves stayed strong and found ways to escape their injustices. The first Africans to reach America landed in Jamestown, the first English settlement in North America. For 250 years, many Africans and African-Americans found ways to resist slavery, ranging from hindrances to violent outbreaks. Resistance to slavery came in many forms. On Southern plantations, some slaves executed small passive acts of resistance, while others ran away.
