Bernie Sanders According to the Candidate, "Bernie Sanders is very liberal when it comes to individual rights. Sanders is more liberal than the average 2016 Democratic Party presidential candidate."(Page 1). A president is a leader of business, government, and branch of government typically a democrat or republican. A leader is used to construct for leaders of different groups. American people hire our president for a four-year term, and when their period of four years is up, they can be retired or chase someone else. A president could not be elected twice. Occasionally, we hear young children say when they grow up they want to be president, but not everybody

According to Bernie Sanders, "Gun control legislation should ultimately fall on individual states, except instant background checks to prevent firearms from finding their way into the hands of criminals and the mentally ill, and a federal ban on assault weapons."(Page 2). But, this is a good way to prevent people from getting killed by someone who does not use firearms for the right reason. Some people have guns for hunting and protection. We could not stop someone from using guns for hunting if that's what they are into. Some people grow up with their families learning how to shoot. Having firearms for protection would be okay if you have a gun license because that is for safety. Bernie thinks it is a good idea to have background checks before people sell firearms. This would be a good idea so; a firearm would not be in the hands of a criminal. According to Bernie Sanders "Given that 23 percent of the perpetrators of mass shootings have …show more content…
Due to these three causes, Bernie Sanders should be the president of the United States. He is a major activist for women's rights; women should have contraceptive plans instead of going to Planned Parenthood to get pregnancy tests or abortions. Women should have a right to an abortion if only they could afford one. Even if women do not have an abortion, they still have resources that help single, low-income families. Bernie
A interview with Jill Stein, the Green Party nominee. In the interview she talks about how both sides are fighting for fears rather than values. So her logos is saying that she promotes values rather than fears. But the people vote more so for their fears, because they want to feel safe. Safety is on Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs.
The Gary Johnson Campaign has been trying to represent itself as the better option than the “lesser of two evils choice.” In order for this to work Johnson has been using appeal to logos as his primary appeal to voters. The intended effect is for voters to see that Johnson is using facts and data to backup his claims instead of the Clinton-Trump approach of appeal to pathos. Almost all of Gary Johnson’s arguments have appeal to logos somewhere in them. This approach takes much more time to accomplish because of the amount of fact-checking that has to be done.
Aristotle’s proofs, ethos, logos and pathos can be found in campaign ads. In one of Hillary Clinton’s campaign messages called family strong, she is trying to convince the American people that kids and families are important to her in order to receive their votes on election day. Ethos relates to the credibility of the person to the following debate or argument. In the campaign message, Hillary Clinton uses her past positions in office to help spread her message that kids and families are important to her. Hillary Clinton could have became a lawyer at a big law firm but instead she decided to work in the Children’s Defense Fund.
Thao Nguyen C02441795 Dr. Coaty PSCI 180 May 19, 2016 The Presidency: Presidential Power and President Expanded The President is not only the face of the country but also the leader that will paint the bright future for the country through wise plans; it can be said that President is an important role in the government system and they have the power to control the country. However, they cannot take advantage of their authority but have to lead the country to a better future. Every Presidential term lasts four years and during this time, their power is always possible in all aspects.
Part 2 of our course focused on the analysis of a wide range of political speeches and on the use of rhetorical devices. More specifically, we have studied the debate on gun violence and how different politicians presented their point of view either in defence of or against gun legislation. For this task, I decided to take on the role of Senator Christopher Murphy and to discuss the ongoing problem of weak gun control in the U.S.A. by using a political speech. This text type, written to be conveyed at the Senate after the Parkland, Florida mass shooting, best suits my intentions , since it would be likely for the topic to be discussed in the two Houses after the tragedy. It makes use of ethos, given the senator’s personality and his long history as a
Michelle Lavaughn Robinson Obama is not only a lawyer and a writer but was also the first African-American first lady of the United States of America from 2009 to 2017 as the wife of former president Barack Obama . In 2020 Michelle Obama was the keynote speaker on the first night of the Democratic National Convention where she acknowledged the situation the US was in and why Donald Trump was not fit to be president and strongly urged the American civilization to vote for former vice president, Joe Biden. The main forms of appeal in this speech are pathos and ethos. She appeals to pathos through personal stories, experiences, but also criticism related to Donald Trump, and she builds ethos by highlighting the
Every four years on November 8th, a presidential election is held. When a president has served two terms and can no longer serve, all new candidates run for office. As a democratic republic, this country needs a leader who will make decisions in favor of the people of their nation. Last year during the DNC (Democratic National Convention) in October, former First Lady Michelle Obama gave a speech regarding the upcoming election. The purpose of her speech was to encourage her audience, those present with her and those watching her on their televisions, to elect Hillary Clinton as President of the United States.

On July 20, 2016, Florida Senator Marco Rubio spoke to the Republican National Convention about democratic presidential nominee, Hillary Clinton. Being a former candidate for president himself, Rubio seems to understand what is being discussed. In his speech, Senator Rubio gives reasons as to why Mrs. Clinton is not fit to be the next President of the United States. “Hillary Clinton has spent her lifetime on the inside of a rigged political system that puts special interests ahead of the American people.” (Rubio 2016)
A great president to me a leader is a person who has great communication skills, who is a natural born leader, and also someone who has empathy or can relate with the general public. All great presidents have certain traits that make them a good leader. One important trait that I feel any good president should have is great communications skills. A president that can reach out to people with different backgrounds and different political views and can get them to listen is a leadership trait I feel
Bernie Sanders wants to raise minimum wage to fifteen dollars an hour and minimize the requirement for welfare. He wants healthcare and education to be free. He is also for the legalization of marijuana. Sanders has a strong bottom line that mainly consist of passing the “popular” laws. Bernie Sanders has a “paper theory.”
Bernie Sanders: The Catalyst for Millennial Involvement in Politics Bernie Sanders is a 75-year-old United States Senator who campaigned as a candidate for the United States presidency from April 2015 to the end of June 2016. Sanders is a Democratic Socialist who sided with the working class and the younger generation; mainly college-aged students. Bernie Sanders received his largest following from the younger generation, better known as the millennial generation. Bernie Sanders was the inspiration for millennials to join the world of politics and vote: before Sanders, millennials rarely participated in politics or voted. Before 2016, millennials rarely turned out to vote and had little to no involvement in politics.
Obama 's White House Correspondents ' Dinner A good leader is someone who constantly is honest with the people who he or she is surrounded by. A leader who is educated is able to evaluate other people 's skills to have the ability to achieve their ideal goals. As many of us know, Barack Obama was the first African American United States President in the United State 's history.
The assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. devastated a large majority of people around the world. His works of nonviolent acts against racism motivated many, including civil rights activist Cesar Chavez, to solve matters without resorting to inhumane behaviors. Inspired by Dr. King Jr.’s work, Chavez and his union of labor workers devoted themselves to helping those in need through peaceful protests. Similar methods are proven to be successful; Mahatma Gandhi, for instance, gained a great deal of supporters because of his pacifism and tranquil methods of boycotting against British domination. Despite brutal and savage methods of persuasion slowly gaining support, Chavez proves that nonviolent actions are superior; he does so by using ethos in order to uphold moral standards, logos (in reference to the past), and pathos to appeal to the emotions of his audience.
For me, a good President is one that puts the average person before or at least on equal ground with the super wealthy and corporations, and one that does the least amount of harm. There have been no Presidents that are perfect on every score, so in picking it is a balance between good and harm. The best President in my lifetime has been Jimmy Carter, he sent no soldiers to war, he tried to wean us off of fossil fuels and he put solar panels on the White house. Carter also refused to leave the Whitehouse while U.S. hostages were in Iran, the best thing about Carter was that he lived his ethics.
