In the fall of 1944, the ability to predict the weather dictated Nazi Germany 's capacity to strike at the Allied armies marching steadily toward Germany 's borders. “The Luftwaffe had been whittled down and Allied fighters and bombers now streaked through the skies at will, strafing and bombing German army units and their supply lines, limiting the ability of the Germans to launch any attacks” (Alexander). The German 's only hope was inclement weather that would ground Allied aircraft, thereby permitting the relatively unobstructed movement of their armies. The problem was in predicting when such bad weather would occur (Thomas). It was the Coast Guard that prevented their ability to get that information from where weather patterns for Europe were born – the island of
Getting to the beach was half the battle because according to Pierre Landry from Juno Beach Centre, “The [English] Channel was rough. Waves, some two metres high, made sailing difficult even at reduced speed” (Landry). In addition to the dreadful weather conditions, the enemy mines and water obstacles caused trouble for the Canadians, which forced the them to heavily rely on their minesweepers and bombardment vessels. The Allies were forced to push their way through Hitler’s defenses on the northern coast of France known as, “ the Atlantic Wall, a 2400-mile fortification of bunkers, landmines, and beach and water obstacles” (D-Day). As a result of the difficulties with the weather and mines, the operation was delayed, which bought more time for the Nazis to regroup and prepare.
Soldiers that are living at Valley forge are tempted to pack up their things and leave because of the deaths and illnesses spreading through the “camp”. George Washington is the leader and he is urging people to stay and fight, having men say motivational speeches to the people. I would stay and fight at Valley Forge. The deaths and illnesses were never over 50% and the people who got sick only half of them died, I’d rather die for my freedom than die without a cause. Only about 6,887 illness records were recorded out of 20,000 people.

As you make your way to Downtown Los Angeles, you will notice that there are towns for different types of cultures. To name a couple, there is China Town and Korea Town. Olvera street, located in the oldest part of Los Angeles, is a street dedicated to preserving the Hispanic culture. Olvera street also known as La Placita Olvera or El Pueblo Historical Monument is open seven days a week (Rondeau). Although Olvera Street is similar to the other towns, it provides a unique experience through its numerous events that celebrate Mexican traditions.

• CG 4.1 How do you ensure that families are kept aware of what 's happening in their child 's daily/weekly life in your program? I make sure that families are kept aware of their child’s life on a daily and weekly basis by providing them with the information from their child’s day on a daily report. I also make sure that I communicate with them both positive and negative things are their child’s day. I want to keep a healthy relationship between myself and the child’s parents and to do so I need to communicate with them about their child’s day.
The primary objective of the Luftwaffe Air Force was to force the British into a peace settlement, or even more ideally an outright surrender. Once the Nazis had diminished the air defence of Britain, it could launch an invasion of Britain from both the water and the sky which could have potentially been the first successful invasion of Britain since 1066. In Prior’s opinion however, a successful German invasion could never have occurred. Prior cites the strength of both the Royal Navy and Air Force as reasons for his confidence in Britain. He says that despite some losses to naval vessels at Dunkirk, there were more than enough resources within the Royal Navy to bring more ships in to fight the Nazis should it be necessary, and that despite how it may have looked, the British were actually in control of the aerial fighting throughout the battle, with still more aircrafts simply waiting in reserve.
