Caesar was dutifully wronged by conspirators. Caesar’s death was not beneficial for Rome but for the conspirators in taking power into their own hands. They themselves claimed to be honorable men. Marcus Brutus, Caius Cassius, Servilius Casca, Lucius Cornelius Cinna, Decius Brutus, Caius Ligarius, Metallius Cimber, and Gaius Trebonius took matters into their own hands by stabbing Caesar 23 times, but they themselves claim to be honorable men. What have they done for Rome, but kill it’s greatest leader?

People would view brutus as rogue and a scoundrel. Chronologically, the Romans were governed by a monarchy, republic, and finally an empire. During the fall of the Republic and the rise of the empire, the citizens that rose to power in Rome all possessed the same characteristic. Two men that held power during this time, Julius Caesar and Caesar Augustus(Octavian), possessed determination which allowed for them to be great military leaders. Julius Caesar was a marvelous general who conquered many nations during his reign as both consul and emperor, and he greatly expanded Rome’s territory.

Due to his prominence in society, and his naivety, he gets defeated by the Romans, which leads to his downfall. Marcus Brutus is a noble citizen of Rome and a prominent leader who leads the conspirators in the assassination of Julius Caesar. He is naive because he thought everything in the world was good. Brutus thought no one would ever deceive him, which led to his downfall and later his defeat. Marcus Brutus exemplifies a tragic hero because he was killed because due to his tragic flaw.

I had been so lucky to attend the trial of Brutus, our senator who rebelled in Caesar and killed him. I have never been upon such a noble man. Who would have ever thought that me, a poor baker, should be allowed the chance to sit with the senate and give such an important decision. Never has such a thing happened in our great city, and there must be consequence for what happened to our great general, Caesar.

The Roman republic was not a great time period to live in with a mercurial political climate with an innumerable amount of dictators, as well as having to deal with disease and harsh laws. The political climate in the 100 B.C. era was very erratic which led to the rise of dictators such as Lucius Sulla and Julius Caesar by illegitimate means. They were helped to come to power by a weak republic, very aristocratic hierarchy and bloodshed, and weak minded people. These gave dictators like Caesar and Sulla the chance to come to power, exhort new laws, and therefore dictate the people of Ancient Rome. The days of the early Roman Republic were uncertain and chaotic due to the new form of government they had to create and that no civilization

I think that in the story Julius Caesar that Brutus is a villain because at one point in time Caesar and Brutus were friends and best friends at that. I don't see how you could be a hero if you killed your own friend. I also think he is a dishonorable man because of the actions he made during the story. The main reason I think Brutus is an dishonorable man is because of how he acts around the story. Brutus actions throughout the story made me just think to myself like what the crap who does that to their best friend.

Julius Caesar was a politician, general, and dictator. He once said, “It is easier to find men who will volunteer to die than to find those who are willing to endure pain with patience.” He was an incredible speaker of the time and was very well liked by most citizens. He brought a lot of change to Rome and was a very strong leader. Julius Gaius Caesar was born in Rome Italy, in 100 B.C., on July 13th.

Some people believe that he is a villain and only killed Caesar to keep his own power in the government. However many people think that he killed Julius Caesar to help prevent Rome from becoming dictatorship.

Lucius Junius Brutus was an ancestor to Brutus and Brutus doesn't want to let down his ancestor by letting Caesar destroy the Republic. Everybody knows people don't want to let down their ancestors even if they're dead. Brutus is a very loyal person and knows he has to be loyal to his family's name by joining the conspiracy to kill Caesar. The letters that Cassius forged convince Brutus to join the conspiracy.

The people of Rome along with the conspirators convinced him to kill his former friend, Caesar. His last words before killing Caesar were “not that I loved Caesar less, but that I loved Rome more.” (III.II.19-24) This shows that he cared more about the society and people of Rome, than his friend. It also shows how they could influence him to turn against his friend.
