Engstom: Case Study Companies big and small at one point in time come face to face with an issue or two. The business owners, the managers and even the employees can be affected. In the workplace there is actually no such thing as “perfect” communication. There can be two types of communication, negative and positive. Positive communication is understanding what is being said and negative communication is not understanding, it is that simple.

DESCRIPTION In week five we learnt about communication channels, it means the mode of communication people use to communicate in an organisation in order to perform tasks. INTERPRETE It is important to choose the correct form of communication when dealing with employees because communication develop good relationship among people without misunderstanding .When communicating we need to choose the right channel to communicate for example using electronic ,face to face communication ,written communication ( Samson & Daft 2015).By coming up with effective communication I will need to identify how choose wisely to avoid misunderstanding among ourselves.

Communication Improvement Plans (CIPs): Goal Setting Paper State the Problem: Intercultural Communication is a form of communication that aims to share information across different cultures and social groups. The transaction process of listening and responding to people from different cultural backgrounds can have a challenging. The problems are different religious, social, ethnic, and educational backgrounds (language barrier). State the Goal: teaching about diversity and give training the communities that live together.

According to Luthra,A. & Dahiya , R. (2015), effective and accurate communication act as an important factor to grow as an efficient and successful leader. It is communication which allows them to share what they have and what they expect from others. Good communication skill help to develop better understanding and beliefs among people who inspires them to follow the principals and values which the leader wants them to follow. In the contrary, without good communication skills, the manger or leader fails to achieve the goals set by the organization and make them ineffective leader. Cultural influences people on how to communicate with one another and its methods of communication from one culture to another. Culture plays a significant role in intercultural communication. Cultural identity is an element in a person’s life when one understands their own culture, leading to an understanding and appreciation of other cultures as well. It promotes a vital part of communication between people who come from different cultures. This paper will examine my Mexican American cultural background and how it affects my way of communicating with others.

The author completely neglects other social factors such as race, class, and ethnicity and their crucial interplay with gender, and treats gender and sex as unidimensional categories and the most significant features of human lives, even though they are not. The book exhibits poor transition between claims, and makes use of anecdotal material/ information to support these claims. Overall, there is a need for comprehensive research to be conducted in the field of cross-cultural communication. Such research should observe human conversation and be sensitive to social factors such as race, class, and ethnicity.

As a result of increasing modernization and globalization, it is not uncommon for us to meet, study or work with people from different cultural background. To communicate successfully, understanding about and sympathizing for others’ differences is the key. Otherwise, misunderstanding and miscommunication would be inevitable, which can have adverse impacts in many situations such as studying and business setting. That is to say, intercultural communication competence is a must for anyone wishing to succeed in this highly globalized world. Thanks to its supreme importance, intercultural communication has been featured in multiple publicities, including video, songs or movies.

Abstract Communicating successfully with people from different cultures can be a real challenge. Cultural differences may lead to tensions, arguments, and even wars between peoples and nations. This paper deals with one of the most common problems in intercultural communication cultural shock, it introduces its concepts and basic traits, causes and symptoms, stages of adjustment and strategies of overcoming culture shock with the aim of improving intercultural communication competence for smoothing intercultural communication. Introduction: Languages and interactions are two principal concepts in present days. Being master in using and perceiving the modern methods of communications at works furnishes us with intellectual tools which we cannot afford to reject. With the expanding of organizations in the world and working internationally the needs of understanding other cultures and new ways of dealing with others become a key aspect of competitive advantages for any organization. Any organization regarding to meet its objectives and goals; assigns some written or not written norms, values, culture and behavioural patterns which should be understood and pursued by all the co-workers. This will create an employer image in labour market locally as well as in the international business market.

In society today, communication classes are highly over looked because of our new developing technology. People don’t realize how much a communication class could benefit them. We have lost sight of verbal communication skills. This class has taught me to put my phone down and communicate with others. It has opened my eyes to the real world without technology.

Communication, cohesion and trust , the clockwork behind team successfulness (Maznevski, 1994) defines effective communication as method to transmit meaning, which will be kept as intended, from one person to another or others. Obviously, effective communication within a team is a desirable feature. It promotes comprehension between the team members and productively utilizes new pieces of information brought into the team.
